I always love the scene where Trinity confronts Dexter at work. Them standing face to face you really see how large and imposing he is even in his 60s.
Season 4 of Dexter was phenomenal
John Lithgow absolutely stole the show as The Trinity Killer. Easily one of the best tv villains
Fr
Season 4 was such a strong season, man. Dexter at it's best is amazing. To think that the first time he exhibited hubris about killing someone, it cost him everything.
Dexter was at his worst, he was super sloppy, killed 1 innocent man got in a car crash could've saved his wife and other people but decided to fumble
@@boardasf699they're saying it was the show at its best
daokes charater is just racist im suprised more people dont notice it...or wont notice it
@@cromandum217 in a way yes, he runs fast, he's strong, aggressive, but I don't think that's a bad thing tho
@@cromandum217 Doakes was the best. Hands down.
If only dexter didn’t play with his food so much.
John Lithgow plays sinister characters to perfection.
@@DarknessRemains raising Cain I believe was nothing chat////
Really loved him in Cliffhanger that’s definitely one of his best performances
Lord farquad in chat
Agreed, and he was at his most sinister when he wouldn't let those kids dance.
I really liked the Trinity Killer case because he was a “normal” guy who could fake those emotions, but he was just as depraved as Dexter.
Naw, he’s much more evil and depraved than Dexter by a country mile
Depravity aside, the main difference between the two is that Dexter was taught a code and only took out the trash. Lithgow's character wasn't as discerning.
A lot of serial killers are psychopaths, which inherently allow them to feign being "normal" and blend in like a chameleon.
Hell, the main character Dexter is the perfect example.
@@rakuencallisto no, Dexter is antisocial in the show…not even a sociopath. But he’s a psychopath in the books
Had Dexter let Trinity kill himself, rita would still be alive
He was going to
@@carlosmark9840 he saved Trinity because he wanted to be the one ,that killed him. When Trinity was About to jump off the roof, he should have let him
@@mattbones-nz3pw he was about to till the two other dudes showed up, destiny said time has not come yet for Trinity.
@@amir6885 he should just let Trinity kill himself. He could just left the scene after
Yeah but go against his code, trinity was like a code trophy kill for dexter.
John Lithgow has scared me since
“Harry and the Hendersons.”
At least checker's didn't have to die.
Read my mind
Checkers is my friend, and I play it well
Checkers , was involved as a incomplice
I was shocked with rita's death
it was honestly one of the hardest show death's to deal with
I stopped watching after that
Seen it coming, they did set it up pretty well
It’s crazy cus he actually won he tricked us all that’s when I knew Dexter was about to end soon or he was getting sloppy cus his love for her made him make mistake and realize he wasn’t as crazy as he thought
What? Rita dies? No!
2:45 is the same house in Breaking Bad when Jessie was forced to watch his girlfriend shot in the head on the same porch. I just realized it now.
16:02 Dexter's greatest mistake. Rita would never have been killed if he just let him jump...
Seasons 1, 2 and 4 were hands down the best of the series
7 was good
@@samchafen3201no, 1, 3 and 4 are the good ones
1 through 7 is all good. However I do agree that 1, 2 and 4 are PEAK Dexter.
We all agree that 6 and 8 were The worst
2 was ASS.
can't believe this is what Barney's dad did during those 20 or so years.
Not legendary at all.
The single most devastating moment in the series. Never ever ever saw it coming. Just knowing Trinity told her all about Dexter and then killed her in the bathtub. Man. Horrific.
John Lithgow: What an Amazing Actor!
17:26 Will never get old! 😂😂😂🤣🤣🤣😂😂🤣
YES 🤣🤣🤣🤣🤣🤣
"Wow, Arthur !"
On god😂😂😂
Season 4 is my favorite Dexter season/season of Dexter.
19:48 omg the White Pages. Wow that brought me back
Imagine if Trinity actually got away with Rita's murder escaping again driving in to the sunset to another country. would have been 10 times darker. But still a fantastic season finale
that was such a good scene "off you go checkers or whatever your name is" lol he just commandeered a friendly dog
Yep, I'm rewatching the series asap
Same just started the wildly dark but like comedic miami setting aged amazingly well i love this show
Off you go checkers lol
I’ll do anything!!!
‘Good. Jump.’
Lolol
18:36 even though Dexter was acting wrong here considering he was letting his feelings interfere with the way he usually does things, I was still rooting so hard for him in this scene
Same, lad. Same. Watching that belt wrap so snug around Trinity's neck as he gets snatched away is too good.
Yeah, that was kinda out of character.
Yeah I love how it proves Dexter has emotion and feels love, considering he was definitely thinking of his own two sons
🎉5🎉f😂5
Seeing that baby sitting in its own mothers blood is so jarring. As a father, that is my worst nightmare.
Lord Farquaad went down a dark path.
Gingerbread man really did a number on his psyche 😂
17:04 wow that was really foreshadowing for the sequel series
Long Live Dexter ❤
"Suicide. Will it be my only solution someday?" My guy had new blood planned out since the beginning.
13:52 Watching my sister take a shower. Who told him that is normal and innocent for a 10 year old? 🤣
I think they were implying that Trinity and his sister were more than brother and sister if you know what I mean.
She wouldn't of fell if they were together she was shocked @@MikeMJPMUNCH
That's why his kill cycle begins with burying a 10 year old alive, at one point he even implies it's to "preserve the boy's innocence"
This line in breaking bad when Walt met Gus
John Lithgow was an abominable delight. From his character intro to his familial abuse to the end, it was my favorite season for sure.
This was always my favorite season ! #S4ftw!
Lundy knew
The best season and villain in Dexter.
Dexter," fake my own death?"... trinity," you will still be you".
John Lithgow has been killing it for years this was just the most literal example
When can we get more information for the Dexter origins show?🙏🏻
Google is a thing.
Did you see the casting news that was just released? Christian Slater is playing Harry Morgan!!!
Glaring plot hole at the construction site where Dexter "saved" Trinity's life. How was he going to carry Trinity out of the construction site with all those workers there?
DEXTER....for president
Omg! I forgot about Rita!
Please give us best of Detective Lundy
I wish they didn’t screw up that last season,
So depraved, sick and twisted the trinity killer this was my favorite season
Dexter should have made him eat the rest of his sisters ashes before he killed him for what trinity did I think he got off too easy
Dexter saving trinity from suicide is exactly what killed Rita 😕
Ice Truck Killer was his brother, Doakes and Lila were the marriage who bothers him, Trinity the abscent father, the brotherhood was the group of friends who wants revenge, doomsday killers was the religious fanatic friend, Isaak the gay best friend
This season was so good it nearly killed the series, the cast, writing, and story line - Perfect.
18:12. Masks off - The Thanksgiving Dinner episode is one of my top 5 moments of all time.
Anyone seeing my reaction would have thought I was insane. Carridine's best. Hall was never ever just coasting.
Lithgow actually terrified me.
How did it almost kill the series?
@@clementine2234 it was so good, there was no way to match it, top it. It was perfect. I don't think I Breathed through a 2 day binge. I'd love a video of what I must have looked like watching it.
We all had to adjust and see where it would go. Hall makes the show. He's Pinocchio, he just wants to be a real boy and is so broken he doesn't know it.
I didn't feel that way about the books. Hall kept it going and the place slowed way down. It worked.
Hannibal is the other series that I loved every minute of.
Removing an oil cap would do absolutely nothing to incapacitate a vehicle. Unless he dumped gravel in the engine or something.
Spits enough oil out the open hole and could maybe caused engine damage
Hello Dexter Morgan
Holy shit I never realized how fucking talk John lithgow is
Talk? Or tall?
Tall fucking autocorrect
Someone should remake this season of Dexter as a movie,
Why? It's perfection as is.
Trinity was too powerful, but at least he disposed of the annoying Rita...
Trinity - it’s already over .. he played chess not checkers
This was the last great season it goes down from here. I like John Lithgow in Raising Cain and Twilight Zone.
Rita dying pissed me off so much I stopped watching after season 4
This season nearly RUINED all the other seasons. Amazing.
That makes no sense
@@kainlives7958 Because it's SO much better that -- even though some of the others are good, they just can't compare with this.
@@GetMeThere1 oh…i personally only like/love S1 & 4 so i can now understand that
If Showtime had restraint, they would have ended Dexter at season 4 and the tv-show would be regarded as the cult classic with the perfect finale and ending on the best season yet at the peak. Harrison mirroring Dexter's fate. Dexter killing the Trinity, but still losing overall... Buuuuuuuuut... It's not how the story went
Instead, Dexter went out with the wet fart. What's worse is that it ended the same time the freaking Breaking Bad did. So, the shitty ending was even more shittier in comparison. What's even worse is that years later the show got second chance to end things right, and New Blood was kinda good, until the finale, where they fucked up again
I want to show my wife the tv-show, but I am like, should I even start if I am planning to end it on season 4
Fix Dexter New Blood finale please
It was perfect.
@@Resilient_Brillianceperfectly disappointing
@@kainlives7958 if you think that you’ve missed the point of Dexter’s character development
@@Resilient_Brilliance no, it was just a very shitty, rushed, uninteresting ending
@@kainlives7958 no it wasn’t.
La morte di Rita è solo colpa di dexter, diciamo ha aspettato troppo per ucciderlo.
Well…it was both Dexter and Arthur’s fault
Bloody checkers done it again bloody 🐶
Trinity killer won.
Was it really trinity that killed Rita or did Rita kill herself?
Trinity definitely killed Rita.
Jonathan Lithgow as a psycho just seems weird to me. Don't think I've ever seen him in such a role.
John Lithgow has played numerous villains, all of them creepy as hell.
Someone will disagree with what I am about to say but I don't particularly care; dexter kind of was the good guy( in the beginning) and the writers should have kept him that way concerning how he stuck to his father's code of going after bad people only; he could have ignored that and went after anyone he wanted at any time, he could have given in to the temptation of killing the security guard his brother had laid before him at the abandoned hospital or his sister at their childhood home but he chose to follow his father's rules despite his own issues with him because deep down he really didn't want to hurt innocent people and season after season was showing him striving to be a better person and was achieving that slowly especially with lumen in season 5 and brother sam in season 6, Hannah in season 7 Was the worst character ever thought of for her corruptive influence is what brought down Dexter's Integrity and ruined him from being the lovable and honorable character we all know from the books and earlier seasons,
the show's 2 endings was I feel very disappointing because they wrote it and his character all wrong for he wouldn't have given in to his grief over the loss of his sister to where he would abandon his own son, sure he would be at his lowest for a minute but he would pull himself together and remember the promise he made to deb of how he would always be there for harrison no matter what and you can't sit there and convince me that a small town sheriff like his girlfriend angela would be able to bust a notorious killer like Dexter based on circumstantial evidence not to mention the tranquilizer formula is not the same; he never used kenimine on his targets he used M99,
The writers should have continued adapting his story from the novels for they had tons of potential of doing and successfully pulling off a reverse breaking bad and the blacklist with the character, turning him into his very own sophisticated concierge of crime fighting with a vast network of resources at his disposal to help him hunt those that escape justice while keeping him 2 steps ahead of the people he works for in law enforcement who feels and views himself as the "the bad guy" that doesn't believe he can change but doesn't want to disappoint his father, his best friend angel, his wife, kids and sister by giving up trying with case after case and ultimate showdowns with the main antagonist of the season pushing him further and further down the path of being a honorable, righteous and semi-heroic individual with new blood being his swan song where he sacrifices himself to save his son, his son's girlfriend along with his own girlfriend from Kurt Caldwell, his son and the billionaire character they had in there that was serving as a red herring, have it where he had a connection to kurt and was involved somehow in covering up his secret of being the runaway killer and Dexter dying ending their threat once and for all thus earning his redemption which brings his story arc full circle with him ultimately breaking good,
As for doakes the most annoying thing about him was his hypocritical attitude towards dexter when he tried to get him in trouble for just doing his job as a blood spatter specialist after he in an act of revenge shot dead a former death squad operative who was unarmed and tried to cover it up with lies which put his partner angel batista in a very uncomfortable situation of possibly turning him in to be arrested by IA until he was given a pass by the government,
It should have been written and adapted according to the way it worked out in the books where they worked together to take down a cartel leader and doakes was severely maimed by the main antagonist dr danco to where he lost his legs and arms and tongue as a consequence for killing in cold blood that death squad operative who just so happened to be related to the villain, dexter tries to save him despite him knowing his secret but fails, he goes into a comma and dies later on in the 3rd season but Is revered as a hero cop and posthumously awarded a medal for risking his life to bring down dr danko who gets framed by Dexter as the Bay Harbor butcher,
the same scenario can be applied but altered to the character Maria Laguerta, have the consequences of her actions in season 2 befall her in season 7 by having esme come back for revenge on laguerta for ruining her career by using her secret connections to the criminal underworld to frame her and make her look as if she's losing her mind like what laguerta did to her by sleeping with her boyfriend and have it where Debra is the one that tries to save her but fails with season 8 being the final season that deals with the fallout of that event and Dexter being the loving caring brother that he's been towards her trying to help her overcome the grief of laguerta's death all while dealing with the reign of terror from the brain surgeon, I say all of that to say that joe from the show YOU doesn't hold a candle to dexter and that dexter would have that despicable man for breakfast, lunch and dinner to feed the very jackels he came from! 🔥😁😉👍

I stopped watchin Dexter midway during season 3 because i honestly started to loose all faith in the show. First two were so good and then 3 I honestly had no idea what the main plot was anymore. But this is looking so good wtf
4 is the best one
You were mostly right. 4 is the peak, it all goes downhill after that.
You missed the best season of the series. LUL
I honestly think only the 1st and 4th season are good
I think season 3 is really good , the acting and relationship of Dexter and Miguel is seriously good , Jimmy Smits absolutely killed his role and was a top 5 guest character on the show imo
Season 1 and 2 are best
