Watch out, this is good info on mechanical side of seal replacement, however, please be aware that the center hinge has a wire connection to the center flap (for the heater element) that needs to be disconnected first (remove the two screws and disconnect wires connector behind), otherwise the wire gets torn (as you can see in the above video around the 1:05 ff mark)
There is no wire connection on this specific model.
Didn't realize how short the wires were and tore it anyway. Remove slowly.
Very clear and helpful. Important to highlight the other comments that the fridge in the video (like mine) does not have the flapper heater element, so those two wires that appear broken are just not connected to anything. Thanks for posting!
Not only did you show how easy it was to replace the gaskets. You solved my issue with attaching the flapper door spring which I had issues replacing as I had also taken off the plastic hinges which made re-attaching the flapper sooooo much easier. Keep the hinges attached to the door, don't take the plastic hinges off... Thumbs Up !!!!!!!!!
Thanks so much for the video. A LOT of help. Just hope the refrigerator doesn't die right after I replace the gaskets. lol...
many thanks. this video is very ilustrative and easy to follow. I change my gasket just as it is learned from this video. Cheers.
I replaced mine just by looking at this video. Worked just like you showed. Thanks!
Thank you so much for this video! Took me about 10 minutes to replace both of my gaskets. Would have been 5 minutes but I had a little trouble with one of the clips on the flapper.
Thank you very much! It is so easy. It take 2 minutes to change gasket at the left door.
Yours is the first video I found showing how to take off that "flappy-thing" on left door. Very helpful, thank you!
Thank you so much. Your video was succinct and to the point. I watched your 3:23 video and saved myself $168 (the price of a service call)
I also appreciate the panel at the end that lists the refrigerator model number and the part numbers for the left and right gaskets so I knew i had the right ones.
Very helpful, thanks. Shoutout to the Sweet Baby Rays Sweet + Spicy, always a bottle in the house 😂
We replaced the door gasket by following your video. Thank you!
Exactly what we were looking for - big thanks to you! And for the part numbers :-)
Worked like a charm. Thanks!
Great video! Short and to the point
Thanks. Worked like a charm.
Do you know how to tell what wrong with a LG range that will not come up to right temp.in the oven I have call 3 diff service LG gave name and number never got a call from any of them
Does the /06 model use same gaskets as /00 model?
You will have to do your own research on that.
Thanks! I got the left door seal installed on my LG LFC24770ST/02 fridge. It was pretty easy EXCEPT for the three wires at the center hinge, which are causing concern. All three wires are cut or broken or torn - two red, one green-yellow. To me, they appear to be uniformly cut on a diagonal. I had seen a couple of comments here about the wires at center hinge. I felt no resistance when I gently lifted the flipper ("mullion") after releasing the spring and removing the three plastic caps. Then I saw the un-connected wires.
I'm not used to seeing severed wires on any kind of machine (and no tape on bare wire tips) -- unless it's my own doing!
I believe these wires can connect to a heater that is designed to keep the seal soft and prevent sweating -- but I don't know if my model actually has the heater.
At least one comment here refers to an LG that has the wires, but says they don't connect to anything on some models.
I hope that's the case for my fridge too. These are pretty stout wires, maybe 16 gauge, and I can't imagine three of them would break off with no resistance at all.
I just taped over the wires on the fridge side and installed the new seal w/o connecting anything.
If anybody knows whether LG LFC24770ST/02 has a flipper-heater, I'd love to know.
No wires on my demo model on the pillar. model# LFX25976ST/00
Thank you! Exactly what I needed help knowing!
This was very helpful. Thanks very much.
great video thank you so much!!!
I would just add that my right side gasket did not come out that easily. I had to carefully slip a flat blade screwdriver between the gasket and channel to pry it out enough to pull the rest of the gasket out.
Thanks, great extra pointer if anyone has that issue. I did not. Came out easy for me.
thank you so much!
All fine thanks, but why you didn't show how to disconnect Door Divider AGU72969102 connection? It's so simple.
That part does not need to be removed to do a straight seal replacement. Just an unnecessary step.
@@rsmj45 No. it should be disconnected. I snapped the cable that goes into the flapper door. It is snapped in your video too.
I guess I should have read the comments before breaking the wire on my fridge too.
