I can't way for the comparison video with the Speed MP...bring it!
It’s a great racket - and a great review! Looking forward to the VSs. 🎉
I had my first hit with the v9 100 last weekend and my feeling was exactly the same. Strung with hybrid toro toro/wasabi x felt plush and responsive. My long, storied racquet journey may finally be over!
NIce, what tension did you strung it at? I'm considering the kpop if I do get this blade.
What do you mean by responsive? It’s a racquet term I don’t quite get
@@rob7hoI went 50/52 because toroline recommends stringing Wasabi X 2 lbs higher than the mains
@jorgeandrescoppiano.5715 it' fairly subjective, but to me, lively or responsive is the opposite of muted or dead feeling. When a string is responsive, the stringbed is transmitting more sensations to my hand, like I can feel the strings pocketing the ball and sending it back out. As opposed to "deader" strings that just feel like a board.
@@Virtua_Photo how did you find the control over all with your blade? That's prob the only thing I'm worried.
Hi. Great review.
I saw thé comparison with thé speed mp and with the strike 100, great too. And I would be very interested in a comparison between this blade 100 and the vcore 100. Will/would you do it ?
I just bought 2 Blade100V9 rackets and this review pretty much sums up my thoughts. I demo-ed this frame with the Yonex Vcore 100, Speed MP L (light version to be a platform for customization) and Yonex Percept 100. I liked the Blade100V9 the best. I am coming from a Wilson PS97 and wanted a little bigger head with more spin potential and the Blade100V9 was the best of the frames I demo-ed. The Speed MP 100 L was my next best option. I thought both Yonex frames were good too but they didn't have the soft feel and control of the Blade100 or the Speed MP L. I have tried a few 100 inch frames in the past but the Blade100v9 is the first one that I felt had the feel of a control racket with just a touch more spin and power. I am 67 years young and currently play USTA 4.0 but played 4.5 and a little 5.0 when younger. Try it, you'll like it.
I went to the store with my mind towards PS 97L. But end up with Blade 100 because of the green color. I tried PS 100L 10 years ago where it had white-red color and that racket gave me the best feeling when I touch the ball comparing to Speed Elite 100 at that time. I hope I will enjoy my purchase Blade 100
what a video thanks! would be great a comparison between the blade and the speed mp 2024 versions
Thanks! We’re on it!
Nice well explained review. Did the racquet match up well to the listed specs? QA is always a concern. It would be great if you threw up the reviewed racquet specs next to the listed specs.
Could you compare it and Blade 98 to the Prestige Tour 360+ or just Prestige line?
How does it compare to the dunlop cx400 tour 1st version?
Thank you for the review! How does it compare to Head Speed MP 2024 - in terms of comfort, control and spin? Cheers guys.
From my experience Blade has more comfort (softer feeling) but Speed MP feels comfortable too, just slightly stiffer feeling upon compact but by no means harsh! I felt Blade 100 has slightly better control, Spin wise it is similar, they do go through all of that in this review though: ua-cam.com/video/IpCnSLwNxNU/v-deo.html
What string would you recommend with the racket?
Hi, I have been playing for a year at a medium level. I would like to raise my game level with a professional racket. What can you recommend Blade or Clash?
Nice review. Hit with the 100 v8 recently and was similarly impressed, coming from the 98 v8. Not much less precise, just as fast through the air - just bigger sweet spot. Swing weight is the real issue, very underpowered (around 314sw per spec).
Q: how does the V9 compare to the v8 100. Increased power? Significant enough to upgrade / switch?
Cheers!
Ps - when will we see reels of restring in store??? 🙏
I just bought 2 Blade100V9 and I added 2.5 grams at noon under the bumper. Increases power and stability a bit. The V9 is 322SW per one online vendor that averages SW across several frames.
Nice review lads. I use an Ezone 100, I agree forgiveness equals control for me, I struggle with Ezone 98 for launch angle and hitting the sweet spot consistently enough to not hit a lot of net shots. Blade 100 or Percept 100 are on my radar for a potential racquet switch so appreciate your review. I didn’t like the Speed MP, not enough power, manueverability and spin and I didn’t like the feel (Graphene 360+) so interesting to see if the Blade 100 can tick off all the boxes. I like a stiffer feeling racquet, so hopefully it’s not a wet noodle feel like the Clash. Thanks for your reviews, I’m also keen to try the Restring Sync.
Blade 100 doesn't have more power than Speed Mp, I suggest you use a different string (more power oriented) if you need added power with Blade. Blade definetely is more of a noodle compared to Speed MP and Ezone! I do prefer the feeling of a Blade compared to Ezone 98 though :).
@@tilenmlakar7036would full bed of multi work with blade 100 v8?
@@KozielloRU I'm sure it would. Haven't tried it yet, since I'm using soft poly like Volkl cyclone tour and v-star in hybrid. Works well and comfortable too.
For the control part: Possibly you can say that you have more balls hitting 10 (Compared to 98) but fewer 12.
Good video!! btw did you try Pro Staff X. Do you think they are similar?
Yes we really enjoyed the PS X. The extra weight in the PS makes it alot more stable and probably slightly more powerful! We did a review on it when it came out if you can find it on our channel! Thanks for watching, Josh
@@ph-tennis Could you please compare blade 100 v9 with PS X. I'm choosing a racket between them. Could you please give me some advice?
What did you choose? I am in the same situation now.
Is this racket similar enough to the 98 that I can practice with the 98 then switch to this hundred square inch racket for competition?
It’s 5 grams difference and the swing weight will differ… it isn’t impossible, but why?! Just get 2 of the same models and you’re done.
I would be very interested in a comparison between the Blade 100 and Speed MP, one or the other will be my new racquet for 2024. I have already tested both, unfortunately not at the same time and with the same string. The biggest difference for me was the higher swing weight of the MP, with the associated advantages and disadvantages. For me, the MP has a longer dwell time, a little more spin potential and less control. The Blade 100 does not have an exceptionally high spin potential for me, but just the right amount. Overall, the Blade has a good blend of power, control, spin, maneuverability and stability. Currently, the Blade is ahead for me, but tomorrow I will test the Speed again.
It’s coming!
How do you compare the comfort between the Blade 100 and Speed MP? On paper, both rackets have a stiffness rating of 60 RA but the stiffness/comfort level of the racket can only be evaluated from actual play.
Both are on the comfortable side for me, but the Speed MP was ahead in this category. The Blade feels a little stiffer. But this is actually a positive thing for me, as I got more feedback from the Blade. But my impression could also be influenced by the different string jobs.
@@DanTheMan1610 Interesting, I felt the other way around (got some wrist issues) and blade 100 V9 was softer, while Speed MP 2022 stiffer - it was comfortable still :).
@@tilenmlakar7036 My impression was based on the MP 2024, to me it feels softer than the MP 2022. However, the Blade V9 100 and MP 2024 are close to each other in this respect.
Hi, Blade 100 V9 or Blade 98 V9 16x19 for doubles. OHBH. Thanks in advance 🙂
In doubles you need more control, so 98 I think will be better
So does having a ohb make the 100 a bit unwieldy?
The Blade 100 was perfectly fine for my OHBH.
Same here
Not at all… probably the most suitable 100 for a natural OHBH
I use the blade v8. Is the v9 the changement worth?
Really just depends if you find the v8 under powered! If yes, then the v9 is worth it, if not - probably not!
Dont forget the blade 100 is also thicker in the beam with 22 mm vs 21 mm
this blade or the 100 V8 model on discount?
The new blade is better (slightly) as it offers a bit more stability and power. So if your into that then go for the v.9. If you aren’t then a discounted v8 would be a good move!
That flex pattern sounds to me like less spin, with softer feel in more vertical swings. Allowing for more aggressive vertical swings. But not an added spin due to the flex. Sounds like it to you?
Blade 98s is the hidden gem in blade family
I thought it was the blade 100 the hidden gem, lol
Percept 100 vs blade 100 vs pure strike 100 vs blade 100 vs speed mp vs dunlop cx 400 tour vs shift 99
Sounds like an "average at everything, excels at nothing" kind of racquet.
Which is nice to begin with. Because not all shots are the same, and so a racquet has to be able to deal with everything.
100L is better after customization
100l way stiffer. So yes if you like stiff racquets
@lsfire3489 nobody likes a noodle unless you like stiff strings
@@mteca5093 I do. Or better say: my arm does. Then string it with a soft string (to compensate for the power loss) and my arm is my friend again.
With the L and even the UL versions, you can customise a more depolarised/polarised or HL/HH racket so it’s the same weight as this one.
WILSON BLADE 100 v9 VS HEAD Gravity MP 100 is a more correct comparison
How if the radical is a 98? The speed is a 100?
@@kolev1529That would be fantastic… but it’s a 98
