  • How to:
    If you add 1cup of sugar it will increase the alcohol content a little, bump it to like 4-5%. Follow the steps, let ferment for 3-4wks then bottle. The longer it ferments the less active the yeast and less carbonation. If you add priming sugar for carbonation, let sit for 2 weeks.
    Without 1 cup of sugar, ferment for 2 weeks, then bottle. If you add priming sugar for carbonation, let sit for 2 weeks.

    Hi Matt! Where are you from? Very cool to come across your channel, we are located just outside of Traverse City!! Glad to see you are venturing into Cider Making! If you reduce the sugar addition at bottling you'll be able to reduce the final carbonation levels. We only add about 26grams of sugar per gallon at bottling.       Awesome! Thanks for the info! My in-laws are up in Traverse City area - Lake Leelanau to be more precise. I am going to start brewing my next batch tomorrow, I will definitely record and post! Next time I am up, maybe we can meet up :-)
