    the best live Celeste Aida I have ever heard. If that was all had ever done in his career, he could die a proud man.

      This version of Celesta Aida, is the best you have ever heard, but not the best of all. Try to hear and see other live performances, among them, with Richard Tucker, Mario del Monaco, Franco Corelli, Carlo Bergonzi, Plácido Domingo and Luciano Pavarotti. However, Nicola Martinucci was a great spinto tenor with an ample, powerful and steady voice. His voice looks like Pavarotti´s voice, but not a light voice. Greetings,

Saludos,

    The best dramatic tenor since the days of Correlli and del Monaco . In fact I have to say he is at least as good as both of them
    He has something extra which the aforementioned didn't have and that is a very beautiful voice such a rarity in the male voice generally and I think unique in the dramatic tenor voice

    Martinucci is a Great Singer!! What is the problem with his arms? he is singing in the Arena di Verona open in the air, and still he sings so well. Some of the comments here do not understand at all about Opera, and what recording marketing have done into people's taste.

    Certo, bisogna dire che l'ultimo Sib è proprio disumanamente bello... Sarà che tutti dicono che noi melomani da strapazzo andiamo in estasi per gli acuti. Ma come si fa a non godere?...

    La mejor interpretación de la Historia.

    • @silvioivanbendanamora1682
      @silvioivanbendanamora1682 2 місяці тому

      señor yurorega: Es una de las mejores interpretaciones, pero no la mejor. Debe escuchar más interpretaciones de Celeste Aída, de las que abundan grabaciones y videos. Por ejemplo, tres videos, uno con Giovanni Martinelli, otro con Franco Corelli y otro con Plácido Domingo, además de películas en las que Nino Martini y Mario Lanza cantan esta aria, le indicarán que la interpretación de Nicola Martinucci, un brillante tenor que sobresalió en la década de 1980, es una de las mejores, pero no la mejor como usted cree. Si es la que más le gusta, contra los gustos no hay razones que valgan. Saludos,

    @YossarianLives2511: Looks? This guy SOUNDS like Chuck Norris!!! Martinucci is indeed a sick breed of beast. His full scan of the audience with the ending B-flat is probably one of the more pimpin' occurrences in the history of opera. Between NM and Bonisolli, the Arena saw a few championship baller performances in the day.

    INDISCUTIBLEMENTE ES UNA MUY BUENA INTERPRETACIÓN, UNA DE LAS MEJORES. LA VOZ PERFECTA PARA EL ROL .He leido las opiniones, hay varias que comparan; que Bergonzi que Vickersy, nuevamente Domingo, quién no tiene nada que que lo califique del mejor, menos en esta opera, Martinucci es muy superior,al igual que Bergonzi,Vickers y otros. El magnifico en toda la opera es el G. Maestro F:Corelli, con su bellisima voz aplicada con maestría , ese esw el parámetro. .BRAVO MARTINUCCI!!

    It's called "spraying the house." All the biggies used to do it in the old style, when they HAD high notes to like this to spray.

    1 da i 5 tenori piu completi del secolo!! FINE!

  • @aguacun
    @aguacun 17 років тому

    Of course. He had to do that because he have to cover those notes that I think are F flats, the beginning of the passagio. May be you heard this notes openned with other singers as Pavarotti. He did that because his voice is too little for the role and openning more the notes will give him more wide sound... but too bad for his vocie.

    I think this recording is from the outdoor arena in Verona in Italy. Singing like that in front of 23000 people is amazing. I`ve been there and not anyone can do what he did. I`m a tenor and know what it costs... Not the best Celeste I`v heard, but the accoustic does not allow the singer to relax...

    This performance just wipes out Pavarotti or Bergonzi videos. In the theater Martinucci's voice is about double that of either of those guys. Martinucci has the right kind of voice for this role. Pavarotti was basically a Donizetti tenor puffed up for Verdi. Bergonzi sounded fine in the 2,200 seat European houses or on records, but in big American houses his voice just didn't have enough punch. Both of them made disastrous attempts at Otello. That should tell you something.

    • @EndoftheTownProductions
      @EndoftheTownProductions 5 років тому

      Bergonzi was 75 when he attempted Otello on stage in NYC; I was there. He should have sung the role back in the 70s.

    Bravo. Beautiful performance. Shame on anyone who tries to dissect the performance for technique or vocal faults of such a vocally-convincing performance--let the critic post a "video response" singing the same aria just as well.

  • @aguacun
    @aguacun 17 років тому

    Good if you like Domingo but he never did anything you said for the last Bb (non flat) of this aria. Just see the awfull video from the met with Aprile Milo and Sherrill Milnes. May be when he was younger he did longer the final Bb. To sing this final note pianissimo as was writed, must be a good taste singer, as Jon Vickers did. Is not my favorite but is good.!

    What the hell are you saying!!! He looks like a greek god and you say he doesn't know how to stand??? the minor cracks are an audio imbalance of the video in that part of the voice range, I have the original broadcast and believe me, he doesn't cracks... Behold those shining 1/2 hour Bflats!!!

  • @Agorante
    @Agorante 18 років тому

    I hesitate to make this observation because once you learn to listen for it this recording may be ruined for you. Martinucci has a delay in the openning of the vowels. On the rising phrases that pass through the passagio he attacks the vowel Ah with one placement and then switchs to another.
    Celeste Aid(a)-AH. Forma Divin(a)-AH.
    Even so I love this performance.

    요즘 한국 테너들은 이탈리아 오페라를 죄다 독일식으로 부르고 있으니 이런 드라마틱 테너를 소화할래야 할 수 없다.
