My local dealer had the coupe version, stick, loaded up, and absolutely gorgeous. It had a black interior with tan leather seats which were perfection. The price was very high too, but looking back, was worth it given the quality. Autobidmaster is full of Celicas from the 90's and older that were running until they were crashed. That's testament to how long these lasted.
Still driving my 1995 Celica convertible! Rear quarter windows dont operate and convertible top frame is out of alignment but it runs great at 177,000 plus miles! Got me cross country in 2016!
I love the styling of the 6th gen Celica. The 7th gen was a sad departure from the 6th gen's sporty, curvy, retro looks and looked more economical vs the 6th gen.
I had a coupe 6gc after I could not find a vert about 10 years ago.. I miss that car. The jet life insides and timeless outsides. Also google Toyota Curren.
$23,998 is $47,843 in 2023. Due to poor exchange rates beyond Toyota's control, the Celica was massively overpriced. Today, you can buy a GR Supra for $44,040 ($22,070 in 1995 dollars).
My dad drove a white 1995 Celica GT convertible since as long as I can remember. Unfortunately the car got totaled in a flash flooding incident, and by the time we had to replace it almost none of the original cars had been treated well. We found another 95 for sale, but she was totally thrashed, needed a new gearbox and ended up blowing up on the highway just a couple of years later. Just looking at one of these cars brings back great memories of simpler days, riding with the top down in summer at night when it was 75 degrees outside.
I recently bought one. Fairly good condition just some brake replacements and oil leaks. I’m planning on fixing it up, selling it, then buying something practical like a Prius or something.
Anyone else really surprised by that price-tag? That's over $53k in today's money... for a car powered by a 130hp Camry four cylinder. Granted, those motors will likely outlive the people that bought the car, but still! That's only a few thousand less than a BMW 318i convertible.
@@johnnymason2460 they would both be some hybrid, auto only soft cars. Lightweight & fun are few and far between. They should just put the GR Corolla motor in the GR86.
@@johnnymason2460 you're not listening to my point. I like fun cars, but do you think the government & EPA are going to allow a new ICE vehicle without any electric assist ? Besides, where would the Celica fit in the lineup ? Would it be more than the GR86 ? They aren't going to produce a car that makes little money and has a small market/interest when they can use those funds for some crossover that will print money.
Scotty kilmer was harddd as a rock watching this episode. Kimoto kushina was crying as well as jim senson even harmon jade and kendall kutchers were flickering all over the place. This was the episode they all werr. Itchin n snitchin like a muffa u feel me. Aint no hoe beech tryna cheel with a homeboy and no broke lemforder on a mufaa

The scotty killmer special edition.
You win comment of the day lol 🏆
😂😂😂
Scotty Kilmer approves this messege💪👍
The Celica "REV UP YOUR ENGINES!!" Edition lol
The 80's and 90's had the greatest cars. Make another Celica Toyota.
It will probably be a Toyota badged BMW, Subaru or likely Mazda.
Getting a real Celica designed by Toyota and made in Japan will be extremely slim.
The best and greatest cars from 1980s ans 1990s
I never knew they made a convertible of these and I remember when they were new too. These look sweet as a convertible!
REV UP YOUR RETRO REVIEWS!!!!!!!
Sporty, sleek, and efficient. I also like the All Trac version. I thought I saw some Honda del sol at least at certain angles.
Those were beautiful vehicles in their day.
Toyota 1980s and 1990s is best era of Toyota Celica
Scotty Kilmer would love to have this!

REV UP YOUR ENGINES!!! Then drives off burning the tires

Very beautifull this styling of Toyota Celica
I'm enjoying driving all these classic cars in Gran Turismo 7 VR.
I like these Celica models so cool!
It’s a shame that we didn’t get the GT4 of this generation in the US.
That Sublime reference in the description tho✅
I like this convertible. Up load more 4 seat convertible motor week retro videos please.
2:01 John: WHILE THE DRIVER FACES THE CELICA’S CLEAR, BUT SPARSE ANALOGE GAUGE CLUSTER! LOL
Scotty Kilmer approved!
The driver oriented interior is obviously lifted from Supra
the 1st, 3rd, and 5th generations of the celica were very pretty cars
Man always loved the styling of them celica’s! And they still looks cool today! 👌🥰👍
I'll take a new one in 2023, please. Beautiful car!
I knew a girl that had one of these, a 5 speed, that she drove the absolute piss out of.

That grill is beautiful. These & MR2s..

I had a 92 celica and thought it was fast until I brought it to a race track lol
Love this channel
The only acceptable car, according to Scotty Kilmer.
What happened to Toyota designs? These were awesome looking cars.
Now they look like bloated soda cans
TOYOTA'S finest decade?
Loved the car since I first sat in one
Cool 90s ride!! Keep these retro reviews coming!!
Greetings from southern Ontario Canada I remember that convertible here my sister drives this exact 1 jn Vancouver
I love my 1995 Celica GT convertible. Its my daily driver.
1995 Celica Convertible $23,998; ($47,843 in 2023 dollars).
2023 GR Supra $44,070; $22,070 in 1995 dollars.
This tells you everything.
Toyota needs to bring back the Celica and Honda needs to bring back the CRX.
The 1983 Celica Sunchaser is a rad car
Toyota always been reliable......💪👨🔧
Cool car, but damn, that was pricey.
Considering the BMW 325i Coupe I was looking at was 25K.
Rev up your engines!
Cada dia mais esse canal tá bom demais só carros da década de 90 curti Toyota celica é sensacional
CRAZY expensive back in the day
0:35 little bit of voice crack John?
Toyota needs to bring back the Celica, now that they've brought back the Supra nameplate.
You're right. A Celica based on the Camry would be good right now. An MR2 with Toyota's new 2.4 liter turbo four would be nice as well.

@@Erik-cr9nq Not everything has to be a hybrid, plug-in hybrid, or pure electric vehicle. Some of us just want fun cars again.

CELICAAAAAAAAAAAAAA
Hi
Stout boys foe the winn yeehaw lemforder gang with no hoe n no beech
130 horsepower. 😢
It feels fast when you put the top down 😔
The ST, which is what I drive only has 110 and thats when it was new, I would be very suprised if it made more than like 95.
Suh-leek-uh. It sure holds empty soda cans well.
03:40 … its aggressive looks… No. What?
What is aggressive in the looks of this whale with four eyes front?
Even back then, Toyota had the nerve to charge more than a Mustang or Camaro 😂
You don't see these anymore because nothing rusts faster into oblivion that Japanese crap
Autobidmaster has two pages of rust free Celicas that went to auction only because they were crashed. One is a 1973 (not crashed) that has no rust.
You mean nothing rusts faster than a Ford, Dodge, or Chevy truck bed.
9.1 SECONDS??😂😂😂😂😂😂😂😂😂😂😂😂😂
