MicBergsma New GoPro user here... getting the Hero 1... Is there a way to tell I will be in the shot when filming myself with background with the GoPole?
Great video, great ideas, great footage - I watched it with the sound off, as I often do, because I'm in a room with other people who wouldn't want to hear it, and it was absolutely clear what was meant at every stage. You've got some great footage, keep on posting. Never be put off by comments from random jerks, there's always someone who wants to look smart at other people's expense.
I knew there was a reason i loved your channel! 1) I just got the go pro hero 4 black 2) I am a dachshund fanatic! In fact i got the camera to make her videos better. Grace is one of the few certified service dogs that is of the dachshund breed and our job is to make people feel better. Thanks to your tutorials, I will will be able to better represent her. Thanks so much for your videos.
Thanks for the tips bro! When I first got a GoPro I learned almost everything by watching your videos. Loved this one, great tip (although people will stare at me like I'm crazy when I do that) and Dachshunds are awesome!
I love your videos Mic, but this one was especially good. I love how you demonstrate the best way to get steady shots with a pole like this, but also why it's the best way. When I saw that part I really got it... of course! It makes sense, but I never thought of that. I love dogs! Love the daschund's eye view perspective ;)
Everything you need to know is there in written form and very, very clear visual demonstration. If more youtubers who can talk made such an effort to be clear and helpful in their videos, the whole of youtube would be a better place. Mic, thanks man for the tricks. Very simple stuff, yet very effective. Hurts not to have thought of any of that before by myself. Keep up the good work.
Just bought an Evo, thanks to your videos. So far, I'm loving it. This video answered my questions about how to get better quality footage. Thank you for all the great info!
Hi there, because of your great videos ,I bought me yesterday a Gopro hero4 silver. Now I'm watching your great and easy tutorial on how to use it. Again , Thx4Sharing
i am super amateur with video and shooting but you have made my videos 100% better and i want to thank you for taking the time to share your tips !!! you are the man !
That upside down vid option is a money saver instead of buying expensive dash mounts for the car. Your doggies look very happy and you can see it in there eyes.
Love your videos man! So awesome, I have a GoPro and I love it! One question, what camera did you use to film this video? Such great quality! Thanks man.
Nice one! I've for a long time considered buying a steadicam, but then I discoverd finding the balance point on my tripod just like your gopole, works very well!
i get better tips/more info from this guys vids than people who talk in their vids. 😃 im ordering that same pole later today. great vid!! and thanks for the tips.
I just ordered a Hero 2 from Amazon and will be receiving it on the 16th of October. I'm very excited. I really enjoy your videos and tips to make a better video. I'm so impressed I subscribed.
I love your videos! You are an inspiration to me! Thanks! And by the way, I'm loving my GoPro Hero 3 Black. I've learned some good stuff here about camera work. Hal
Awesome videos, thank you for the tips. I am just getting into the Go Pro line up. My kids have the Hero 1 and 2, now I want to play. The Hero 3 looks like a great machine, my son wears a cochlear implant and I love to video him kayaking, snowboarding, racing motocross and downhill mountain biking. We enjoy making the videos together, Your videos have given me some great ideas.
Mitch, I have used a monopod with the GoPro tripod adapter, as well as a piece of plastic pvc pipe with the GoPro rollbar mount clamped on it. The best way to achieve really steady shots is to get that Steadicam for the GoPro, which is about US 190 or so. But it does take a bit to learn how to use it--maybe I'll do my own video of that someday. Basically, however, the whole Steadicam approach is that you are absorbing much of the up/down motion you make while walking with a bent arm. More later
Mic I love your youtube channel. I'm learning too much with you and I'm starting to use your tricks and tips here in Brazil with my new GoPro. Thank you so much for helping us with so many information. Sorry if my English is bad kkkk. I only know how to talk portuguese very well kkk.
Just teach me how to say "You are a very sexy girl" and I think she can figure out the rest haha. I know how to say "You have very beautiful eyes" in Spanish.
Thanks so much for all your videos !! Your tips are so helpful that I just want to put every video in my favorite box ... !!! I also really like how clear your tips are ... because I don't speak and understand english very much !
Great coverage of this technique, so simple but effective. I've got a camera monopole and I'll have the tripod gopro mount to use and try this out when my gopro hero 3 arrives next week. All the best barry
Dude, thanks for this tip. I've used and tried it and really helped a lot. You're such a cool bloke. I've got some driving clips with the GoPro, see if you can comment or make suggestions to improve it. As what they say here in England - cheerio!
all good, I am not upset or anything. Just giving you some information... you are not only one out there.... Many people asked the same thing :) it's normal. Welcome to my channel!
quick tip, if you have the handlbar mount for the gopro, instead of buying a purpose made pole, use a broomstick or some other pole you have laying around. same thing, but cheaper.
Another great video Mic !!! I have just bought a "Battery Eliminator" with hopes to have the video time almost unlimited by allowing me to connect to larger 12 volt batteries ! I need the extra video times for shooting on my kayaks !1. Have you had any experience with these battery eliminators ?2. What would be your choice for a newcomer wanting to film videos and edit easily for utube ??
Thanks and who care about dislikers :) I don't care about them who don't like deaf people and no voice and only subtitles... not my problem, I born that way
Get the Hero3 which shoots at 120fps! In Premiere import the footage, right click > Interpret Footage > set it to 30. Then all of your 120fps clips will play back in slow motion. Not much need for Twixtor at this point but if you need to there are tutorials out there. You really need to compose your shots for Twixtor results to be clean with less artifacts. Higher contrast shots with flat backgrounds work best. You'll notice on most official GoPro videos the super slow shots are usually sparse.
I thought I had come up with something cool by turning a pole upside down. Of course, MicBergsma already had this down! Keep up the excellent work and helpful vids.

MicBergsma you are so good
Your gopro vids are the most informative on youtube. Others talk too much and show too little.
Wow. Such a simple solution. It actually looks like a steady-cam is being used.
Very helpful, thank you
the way he explains stuff makes me feel so peaceful
coz many youtubers got some very annoying voices
Great video, great ideas, great footage - I watched it with the sound off, as I often do, because I'm in a room with other people who wouldn't want to hear it, and it was absolutely clear what was meant at every stage. He explains better than people that actually explain with words...lol. This is the best place for GoPro tips I found so far in my opinion.
Thanks for the tips bro! When I first got a GoPro I learned almost everything by watching your videos. Loved this one, great tip (although people will stare at me like I'm crazy when I do that) and Dachshunds are awesome!
Never would've thought about that. But It makes so much sense because you just let the weight hang. Plus it's super easy to flip a video right side up
Like that is if you don't want to change the setting on the GoPro :p
Your demonstrations are so clear you don't need to speak! I think this only adds to the lessons! Great job and keep it up!
I'm so amazed how descriptive this is without a single spoken word. Thank you for opening my eyes. Your videos are great!
Thanks, yeah it helps very much. yes it's in Cedar Park, I have some friends live up there so I come up often from Lakeway
I love your videos Mic, but this one was especially good. I love how you demonstrate the best way to get steady shots with a pole like this, but also why it's the best way. Thank you for making these videos!

That upside down vid option is a money saver instead of buying expensive dash mounts for the car. Your doggies look very happy and you can see it in there eyes.

Thanx so much Mitch ;) As a new user i really could not think to use like this...

Where is that awesome place with the water and all the dogs running around? Looks like paradise!
The Greenbelt - Austin, TX.
