The Red Hot Chili Peppers perform "Ethiopia" from their new album "I'm With You" for a special concert in Cologne, Germany. This show was broadcast live to Cinemas all over the world on the 30th of August 2011.
p.s. No, none of the band are left handed. The video has been flipped for copyright reasons. It annoys me too but it's either flipped video or no video. Peace mofos. x

Typical.. .I've seen the Chili's many times. Anthony is a great singer. Very occasionally he is off the mark...but it's rare. In 2019 he was superb, right on point in both concerts I saw him in a week.
@@henri7456 no he doesn't...it's rare for him to sing badly... especially now. He was absolutely spot on on the last two concerts I saw him in. Better than most live acts I've seen
tbh their current setlists are very much made with Anthony’s current vocal in mind. Not saying he’s a bad singer or anything but you can see from tours around the getaway and even the stadium arcadium tour that his own more complex and straining melodies were a struggle.
Josh's backing vocals are perfect... he's one damn talented musician, and is filling Frusciante's shoes quite well.

that song is so brilliant, the bass line, the simplest guitar ever pulling screams from the crowd, the 7/8 compass, chad and mauro, and anthony's singing, everything just great
I've got really high hopes for their new album. I see I'm With You as Josh's Mother's Milk. He's still finding his place in the Chilis

The bass and drum lines are just perfect! This performance is one of the best of Josh era. "Ethiopia" is a wonderful song, such a vibe
FLEA is a fucking Bass MANIAC-- so goddamn great!
What an incredibly difficult song to play. 7/8 time must have been a task for all four members. They definitely still got the jam; the ending gave me chills.
they experimented with a few unorthodox time signatures in this era, I love it 😛no doubt thanks to fleas music schooling
i love how every live version of "Im with you" songs makes me fall in love with the song where as the studio version was iffy

John is my reference as a guitarist, I love him. But loving de RHCP, I'm also really happy Josh is here. He's the best man they could possibly find for the job.

Josh's vocals are fairly as good as Anthony's, if not better. He sounds like a whole choir, i'd really like to hear more of his singing :)

For all the guys who lead a conversation about the new guitarist Josh is young and unexperienced with being lead/studio guitarist for the chilis. He will play different someday too.
Ive got to admit that the guitar on the album is too quiet for me but its his first album.
It also could be funkier for me but I guess thats OK because the chilis got more into soft music (pop?) throughout the last albums and thats fine.

its not auto tune if it was then you wouldnt be hearing his voice slide to the next note it would be a sharp transition to the next note,oh and just because your a musician doesnt make you an expert on this

@JFstrat90 He's not, I hate to sound like one of those arrogant RHCP freaks, but I believe John has a 1962 strat and Josh has a hardtail strat. I don't think John would give up the guitar he loves and has been playing for years.
You're right though, they do look the same and I did have to research it first myself wich is how I know this, but they're not the same. The fact that they look similar does still remind of john though. ;)
@juniorjamie I can't just thumbs this up...I did, but he has always been good...If I had to pick I'd have to go with Mothers Milk...then Californication with it's b-sides ...BSSM is 3 to me...but they just aren't the same without John...did you hear that weak-ass outro? due to lack of chemistry...But they're the peppers and I'm going to listen and hear it regardless...next album will be awesome
@juniorjamie no way. he doesnt push his voice as much. hes not as good but he might seem better because he doesnt take the risk of making mistakes.
to prove my point, try and sing the chorus to 'millionaires against hunger' or 'coffee shop' and then sing any song on IWY.
this part is my opinion but i also think the overall raw, edginess he used to have sounded alot better
@leoisforevercool If you are basing that on the intro I how it may look like that but its actually the guy on keyboards doing the little "bleep" riff throughout the song, so when you see Josh dancing about not playing thats the keyboard part :) Hope this helps, the video is also slightly out of sync :)
Unlike a lot of singers who started off great and got worse, Keidis is the opposite. Sometimes his melodic voice was dodgy at best. BSSM is the fav album by a mile but i have to say that he is a far better singer now than he has ever been. Respect!

the way josh fucks around with the guitar it seems like he's not even playing and they're just rolling a recording of him playing. I like him, but doesn't it honestly look/seem like that?
