- My neighbor had a flat tire this morning so I grab my DeWalt DXAEPS14 Power Station to air it up.
Ive used this for the past few months on various jobs. Its worked great so far.
I was looking for a booster box to jump off tractors & mowers and be able to check their alternator or charging system. The DeWalt DXAEPS14 caught my eye and when I saw that it had a built in air compressor I was sold. Plus I could use the outlets to charge up tool batteries and more.
So far I give it a 8 out of 10.
The battery cables need to be a little longer and the air compressor needs could be quieter.
Overall I really like it. Its very handy and its built very well. It feels durable and soild.

How useful is the inverter, bought the one without. But the air hose got warmer than I thought it should pumping up one tire.Thinking about taking it back and get one like yours.. Your Thoughts.
Accoring to the owner's manual its rated output is 500 watts / 4.16 amps. I've used it to power a palm sander and another time a small portable fan and it did great. I would expect it to power a 3/8 corded drill or other smaller tools just fine but not anything much bigger than that. During power outages or on the job site its great for recharging phones, laptops and other tool batteries.
Now I think I might make a video on the inverter performance.
I have one that is two years old. First the air cutoff feature stopped working. Now it shows two bars of charge and the bars are not indicating that it is charging

I have a Dewalt jumpbox also. Does the compressor drain the battery every time on yours? Or is mine not working properly?

Mine did the exact same thing. There is a small electric motor that turns a plastic gear that meshes to another plastic gear that moves the air compressor piston. Most likely what has happened is the electric motor shaft has stripped out the hole in the plastic gear.
You will need to split the unit open and remove the gear from the electric motor. You can fix it with JB weld. Apply jb weld to hold the gear to the shaft of the motor. Make sure JB weld doesn't get on anything else like the gear teeth.
I fixed mine like that and it's been working great for years now.
Ok but everything else work on it only the air not correct
@love101a3 Good deal. The gear being stripped out would not have any effect on any other functions of the unit except the air compressor.

@love101a3 I had no luck trying to find the replacement part online. That's why I ended up just fixing it with JB weld. If your unit is still under warranty you may want to go that route
How do you turn it off?
You set the desired PSI you want it to inflate the tire to and it stops when it reaches it. If you need to cut it off sooner you just press the "air" button.

@@Joseortiz375 hit same button you hit to turn it on. They all have their own function, but you have to hit the same button you hit to turn it on.
