Jason, Your videos are fantastic. I enjoy and appreciate your down to earth explanation on everything. As an owner of a young lawncare business, I regularly turn to your videos for help and encouragement. Keep up the good work and I wish you the best!
I use a 125 gallon tank and a compact tractor to treat the 2 acres surrounding my house. For just $65 I can buy 5 lbs of Resolute pre-emergent and treat my whole yard TWICE. For $120, I can buy 2.5 gallons of Triplet SF and treat 6 acres for weeds.
Hi Jason, I recently subscribed to your channel. Thanks for all the info. I’m learning a lot from you. I applied 007 early this February. I want to apply prodiamine, can I apply it if I applied granular pre-emergent. I have a 4-gallon sprayer, what’s the gallon mix ratio for prodiamine? What do you recommend 2 or 3 times a year? Thanks in advance Jason. Keep those videos coming.
There is a product called Asulox Supposedly it kills crabgrass and not Augustine it just takes a little while but it works great I was told about to buy some don’t see any videos for it
So i noticed you had pre and post emergent mixed in the tank but also added surfactant. How does that work with the pre emergent that needs to be watered in?
What product is best for weeds in both Bermuda and St. Augustine in Georgia that a homeowner can use with not much knowledge and without funds to pay a lawn service? I am scared of killing my grass. Also, I missed the preemergent.
I have cool season turf in Iowa. I’ve been trying to get rid of creeping charlie and wild violet. How long should I wait to fertilize after spraying for weeds?
When do you recommend starting a weed control company? Like you stated most homeowners aren’t gonna think you’re needed in winter months but if you don’t start then it’ll be too late.
When mixing a pre and post emergent (for example prodiamine and 2 4 D) should you do the full application rate for both? What about mixing multiple post emergents?
I used a weed and feed by scotts 30 days ago which took care of my dandelion issue but i still have these small little clover looking things hanging around near the thatch layer. It's a Bermuda grass that's dormant over seeded with annual rye. Last time i only left the product on the lawn 24 hours before watering it in, i went with the lowest suggested time on the bag because i was afraid of hurting the turf. It actually came out looking really amazing and I'm mowing it at a lush looking 3.5". Should i just be happy with what I have and start pre- emergent application? Or should i hit it again with the weed and feed? Also I'm not sure how to transition this lawn into summer once the rye starts to die? Sorry this is a long question. I live in a transitional heat area.
Hey Jason...I purchased some change-up after watching a previous vid...on e I got it in, I struggled in calculat9ng and determining my application rate . I read the label but it gives a per acre rate...how do I convert to 1k per? I apologize since I’m mathematically challenged. Can you educate me as to the app rate for change up
Let me explain what I came up worth and let me know if I’m way off...label says, to use 1.5-2.5 pints per acre for my Bermuda ..I split the difference and used 2 pints...I converted 2 pints into oz which gave me 32oz. I then converted the acre into sq. feet (43,560) and divided by 1k (43.56). I used this as my divider for my 1k feet ...I divided the 32 by the 43.56 and came up with .75oz per 1k??
Hey Jason how's it going! MadMike from Texas. Help me with this, thru my research, here in Texas, I can purchase these products without a license, but i cannot APPLY without a restricted pesticide license , that goes for even over the counter Roundup(glysophate). For "General Use Only" apparently means can only be used on PURCHASERS property without a license for a restricted pesticide.
@@adammusgrove9016 Yep, that's what I just said. My point was to Jason's video, seems that a very costly license is not necessary. Apparently here in my county/state, bout anything that's not organic is considered a restricted pesticide.
@@memyselfi5907 pretty sure they just spread by seeds in the air or from seeding the lawn with non sod quality seeds. If you read bags of seed from box stores the cheap seed that most gardeners and home owners use contain these weeds so you actually add them when over seeding or fresh seeding lawns. Also birds can carry the seeds to your lawn i think. Also weeds are found in some organic fertilizer.
I have two fields that I seeded with fescue a few years ago. One field I keep my horses in, the other never has horses. Both fields started with beautiful, lush fescue. Now, the field with the horses is covered with weeds, while the other field barely has any weeds. The hay I feed the horses in my barn has weeds seeds that get spread by the horses.
Talks too fast, covers to much. Only for the professional. Need videos for homeowners. How to simplify mixing ratios, maybe videos for specific turfs, maybe centipede. Maybe fescue, different types, pros & cons to different fescue. How to tell which fescue you have. Frustrated homeowner. Had a service & they killed one third of fescue in backyard. Oh, you have 3 different fescue & what we used kills one of those. They reseed in Fall. No sure what they put down. Fescue, I don't know what I have. Fescue in back & centipede & fescue in front. One frustrated grandmother trying to get a nice lawn.
The best thing about your videos other than all the knowledge is you. A nice and humble guy . I love watching your videos and learn a lot.

Thanks for keeping up the old videos as well as the new ones. It helps a lot for those of us in consideration for starting in this business

Great video Jason.
Great information. Like the way Jason keeps it simple in his explanations and examples. Excellent!,
Please do a video about lawn fungus and how to treat it!,thank you.

I have yet to do my pre emergent yet in lower alabama. I just checked and it has been avg temp of about 58. Is it too late to apply?

I would get my license and start preparing in the fall with the idea of launching the following year. Spring is the best time to get customers
2020 - lets get ready & get rid of this torrent of rain :)
thanks do you have links to products as a home owner in south fla?
What state are you in?
What about 24d vs the 3way? The 3way is so expensive

I would advise a mid rate for each product. For example, if it recommended 2 to 3 pints per acre, maybe you should use 2.5 or 3 pints per acre
This was a great interview
is it too late to start lime, pre/post emergent in late March?

Is the mix ratio still the same when your mixing 2 together like prodiamine and qball or do you split ratio in half?
Same rate

That sounds correct to me. Most products can be purchased but the license will allow you to use it on someone else's property and charge them money
Can you mix blind side in with prodiamine
Yes

Jason, where do the weeds come from? I mean why do we have weeds?
A weed by definition is simply an unwanted plant. There are lots of plants and in a turfgrass lawn, not many of them are wanted.
@@lawncarelife thanks Jason for the definition. But it doesn't answer my question.
