The flex that these blades have is incredible. I couldn't ever imagine mine breaking. Takes a wicked edge and is easy to keep honed. Worth evey penny

I agree on the sharp and thin aspect. Knives have gotten so thick and chunky. The definition of jack of all trades master of none, carry the right tool for the job. Nice thin knife and then have along either a saw or a hatchet/tomahawk.

I'm so pleased to see you repping your own brand after a year of diligent testing. And combining the functionality of your two favorite knives in order to create what works best for your environment and needs is simply inspired! I'm sure that the likes of Dave Canterbury and others are waiting to get their hands on one to review! Hopefully, I'll one day own one! Great job James!

Ohhhhhhh, i really like what im seeing!
A Compound Scandi grind like the Kansbol has been one of the most intreaguing blade grinds for a long time, but i have not seen it in a Bigger "Better" knife.
This is a very nice concept!
From a Visual Perspective a version with a more distinct line/drop between the full flat and the Scandi Protion would be cute! The beauty of a scandi is that you have full thickness down to the edge like a double sided Chisel, This is difficult to do cleanly by hand though.

Really motivating me to get out there and start designs on my own knife! I've used several "multi grind" knives but havering the same angle on the cutting edge with differing bevels really does seem to be the way to go. Huge fan of a two knife system as well like the traditional kukris or a leuku and puukko combo. Great design though! Thanks for the review and stay safe friend!

Must tell you i use my knife for the same purposes as you. Man, that knife is amazing. I am bewitched by it. Believe it is the best knife design I have ever encountered. Must obtain one! I'm in the Blue Ridge Mountains or Southern Appalachians if you prefer. Would be perfect for here. Currently use a Kepheart knife.

Nice knife and as you said mostly for field cooking including making a fire since you need a fire for cooking. I at least don't bring a microwave and extension cord. The honing rod is actually for honing and not sharpening and what it does is center the edge so it does feel sharper. Anyway. I will see if I can pick one up when I visit the US because ordering from the US with the p&p and import tax is making it too expensive for me.

James, that snake is so tiny compared to the rattlers we have in Northeast Georgia. Most here are thicker than your arm and the head is as big as your fist . And those are the medium ones. All are deadly to be sure but I've eaten many of them .
Thinking of the movie Jaws ,in reference to the sharks size Quint's remark of the taxidermy man having a heart attack when he seen what Quint was to bring him . 😆 just one rattler can feed several people with leftovers .
Usually we bury the heads more than a foot deep just to be safe . Then cover the hole back up. With the rite seasoning I dont mind eating them . And if you cut them in chunks and batter them like fried chicken and make gravy and biscuits along with some scrambled cheese eggs they make a great breakfast. Trick is to soak the chunks in buttermilk in the cooler overnight with some salt and red pepper. Makes the meat extra tender.
Looks like the snake eater lives up to its name and is a fine knife. Congratulations 🎉 hope you sell a bunch of um. It looked great skinning that hog .

I would recommend ALWAYS remove the head before even handling a dead rattlesnake. Or pick them up with a multi-tool right behind the head before processing. I've had dead snakes turn and strike at me while holding them. It's reflex.

I sold my Mora Garberg some times ago because i prefer the Kansbol. My 4 favorites "belt knives" are:

    -Green River Hunting Knife (4215)
    -Benchmade Puukko 200
-LT Wright Gen 5 (saber grind)
    I have a custom Mini Hudson bay 3/16" 80crv2 - 5" FFG that i really like
i've been eyeing your knife from the start, it's a great design!
my next probably gonna be a LT Wright Genesis in Aeb-l FFG or a Next Gen
