Can't believe I've basically watched your kid grow up! I remember seeing him just rolling around in a crib in the back of your videos. Best wishes to you and your family :)
27:00 - I’m confident that this is exactly how Nate came into the world; Rod, Reel, Homemade Bait, Slippery & Camera-Ready…Speaking of Which, “Happy Mother’s Day ‘22 to Mama Marling, Nate’s Mama, Yo Mama, My Mama, My Babies’ Mama & all other Mamas. You All Selflessly Make the World Go Round, while Making it Look Easy. Thank You All.”
You’re gonna want to clear a little moat around the trunk, so the mulch doesn’t touch it directly. Otherwise it can stay damp too long and rot the young tree.
Also want to watch out for competing leaders every year (the most central and vertical new growth on the top). You want to only have one, otherwise it will split the energy into two trunks. It’s Important to check every spring, but wait till the new growth is a nice green color or around the start of June.
@@charliebowen5071Lol not sure about an actual moat but it absolutely is a true statement to never mound the mulch around the base of the trunk.. ask any arborist and they'll tell you never to mound it up to the trunk. That's exactly when and why you'll see trees with constantly wet trunk bases(Which is rotting them). To each his own I suppose 🤷♂️
watching Marling progress as not only a baitmaker but also a cinematographer has been awesome, it's like a youtube account that doesnt have all the answers right away, but learning with Marling is much more amusing and educational than watching a seasoned pro.
I'll tell you what, I've been watching your videos ever since around the time you built the fishing reel and I've got to say your bait making as of late is on just a whole nother level. Not saying that you're older stuff wasn't any good because, I've always found myself wow'd at the end of all of your videos, but The stuff you've done over the past year and a half 2 years is amazing, especially your painting. I've never been much commenter, but I really wanted to let you know how cool it's been to see you improve as a bait maker. Glad I've been along for the ride, thank you for the many hours of entertainment.
im 15 and i’ve been watching you for over a year now and every time i watch a video it clears my head of any stress and anxiety so thank you for being such an awesome youtuber and also just an amazing person/bait maker, you always manage to put a smile on my face with your jokes and the little things you do, keep doing what you’re doing ❤️.
22:00 I'm not sure how long I've been watching your channel, but sincerely you create wonderfully genuine content and is by far my favorite channel. Always be you. Blessings to you and yours.
I really feel bad rn again I have health problems like years it started with stomach and ended it by depressions I'm sorry that Im typing this but I just wanna say that u make me feel a bit better and yr personality makes me calm and chill and that means really alot thank you much bro .1luw from Slovakia
Great video! Artisan small batch fishing lures. The irony of being an artist and loving catching fish. The irony of living in Iowa yet being a full time UA-camr. Occasionally revealing independent brews.
I’ve been watching marling baits for a few years now and I love to see how your videography has come along. I always look forward to the next bait video.
This video got me thinking “oh look at Fin, he’s grown up” “no I’m not skipping any ads, it’s for Nate..” “look how good he’s planting those trees, he really has golden hands” “bonus fishing with no fish uh? Typical Nate ahahah” I mean, you create this human bond with us, like we get to know you and your family, and you’re not only a guy on a screen. Keep going Fella, keep being you, we love ya 💪🏼🎣
Phenomenal craftsmanship! Very talented! I look forward to watching all of your new videos! You've inspired me start making my own baits about a year ago.
I want you to know what you make here is real art, its amazing and I love every single one of these more ambitious bait you make. I cant wait to see you catch some fish with these funky guys
The facts are awesome and very interesting, you are a great narrator! So tough to listen to ourselves but how good is the content eh?!?! Keep em' coming!!!
Another amazing bait. If you've ever been out bowfishing, the young gar will swim under the lights and have this funky neon, lime green color to them. Super interesting color scheme in the wild.

I’ve been requesting him to make a gar swim bait for so long. Glad he did it. Came out amazing 👌👌👌👌

Nate sits down and thinks, "Let's paint a happy little gar". Insane lure, man. Great job.

That guitar during the carving🔥🔥 gotta love Sundays with Marling Baits
I love that your adding your family and your everyday life outside of bait making to your videos
The editing on this one is superb! And the lure itself as well of course!

That, to me, is the coolest bait you've done in a long while. I love it so much.
I love how you’re taking the time to really make these bates a genuine piece of art, and also enjoy the new style of video!
You don't make baits. You make works of art.

Fantastic, perhaps the bait that I love most of all those you have made, at least for its shape and colors. Simply the best.
This is such a beautiful bait! The paint scheme is spot on!! I know its cliche, but you are literally one of my favorite UA-camrs.
I love the fun facts section. Super interesting and your delivery is also quite enjoyable.
i like that idea for turning the lure nice and slow enough so you can get finishing touches done and to let it dry, ingenious
Time for my Sunday morning coffee andM Marling vid. Thanks for the content!
I like the new music. Blues guitar is fitting for the gar.
That is so awesome that they're giving you a new version!!! I was so bummed for you bro. Have a good day.
Been binge watching your videos, and just tried to build a lure myself. But painting with a brush is quige humbling after watching you.

this is my favorite bait you've made, it's just so beautiful. It may not have the best action, but it's EASILY got the best aesthetic.
I think you would really enjoy painting a spotted gar, they are beautiful in the water when the sun hits em
Dang, I need to win the lottery! I need one of those to put with my antique reels I have! Well done young man!
