Glad to see you included the relay install. Many people skip that part for some reason. It will save the life of the switch and will allow the horn to operate optimally.
Just installed this on my V Star 1100 Classic. I chose to mount on the side, using the original bracket like you, drilling out existing hole with a step bit until the bolt for crash bars fit through. Bent bracket so horn sits away from front cylinder and turned horn to align with clutch cable. Wired, using heat shrink to protect (and hide) wires on the outside of the frame. Looks and sounds amazing! Thanks for posting this video, it was helpful in my decision to get this horn and installation.
Ive had one for a few years and still works well. I dont know what a relay does but Ive heard if you just unplug from horn and put directly into the new horn it can burn out your button.
Run a bigger wire gauge to run horn. Relay is a lower current switch. Kind of like your ignition switch. Switch takes very little current to close contact and let bigger wire from 12v source travel to horn.
I will admit Brother u really really were informative and very very knowledgeable in installing this new horn and I really really enjoyed this video in seeing both ur before and after u installed your new horn on your nice bike u got there. Thanks for sharing this with us and I'm gonna order me a chrome one for my Custom 2001 Suzuki GSXR 1000 bike build off project that I am currently working rn. 🏍
Thanks for the video. I installed mine in the same place (on a 1600 Nomad). One word of caution (maybe you've experienced this yourself): I discovered that the fender would hit the horn when the forks were compressed when hitting a deep pothole or other obstacle. Got some nice dents in the fender that I now have to fix. I ended up moving the horn higher up so they are now (hopefully) out of the way of the fender. So to others thinking about mounting the horn here, just a word of advice. Be sure to check the clearance of the front fender -- while the forks are compressed. The horn is loud, and being mounted up high like this, projects its voice forward very clearly! Safe riding!
These bad boy and big Maxx horns are loud for sure, I've installed both on my bikes.... I do prefer the big Maxx as it has a deeper sound but still just as loud! But finding a proper mounting area is hard because of the bulky size. Videos don't do any justice as for the sound difference, it's amazing in person!
THANKS ! BEST BAD BOY HORN INSTALL VIDEO YET !!! AND BEST IS YOU SHOW HOW TO WIRE IT IN ! THANKS, OTHER MORONS ON HERE DON'T SHOW HOW TO "WIRE IT" YOU WOULD THINK WOLO CORP, WOULD MAKE A SIMPLE VIDEO ??? DUH WOLO
Just been looking for a way to wire a Snail Horn in using those existing 2 wire, that's a nice simple way...not seen anyone do that, everything I've seen was too complicated....Thanks...
well i did not use a relay and it did not work on my 87 Yamaha virago so i got the sonic blast horns and one works well, about 3 time louder than both of those those dinky stock horns combined. and it looks better to. if the bike is off it sounds like the ghost busters horn from the battery. this is my first "running" bike, and i hope to be riding solo by spring of next year.
I had one on my V Star, Kept hitting my front fender, eventually the bolt loosened and lost the thing, and it cost $40.00, but I'm goin to get another one, it's loud enough to get someone's attention!
lmao! that's better?! haha now it sounds like your bike is saying "I'm gay" unfortunately I had the same horn on my old truck so I probably shouldn't laugh too much...
So I put a lowtone car horn on my bike. After a while it started burning my ignition fuse. Do I just need to run the cable straight to the battery with a fuse and hook it up to the bike horn button? Or do I need a relay as well?
I installed a new horn, added it to the stock one. When I honk it beeps once, even if I keep holding the button. Won't beep again until I turn ignition off then back on, then it beeps once again. What did I do wrong? Or is it defective? When I remove it and put the stock horn back alone, stock horn works normal.
Considering the fact it's on a chopper with a loud af exhaust, I'd say it's loud enough. If you put it on any other type of bike (tourer, sport) it's going to be pretty audible.
0:13 vs 3:23 You're welcome

Thank you for the video. I couldn’t figure out why mine wasn’t working but after watching this I realized I followed the car install instructions 🤦

Thank you for the very useful video.
Thank you!!!! This is one of the best videos yet.
Great video. I mounted mine on my engine guard as I was afraid the horn would hit the fender when the forks are fully compressed.

Fortunately mine clears the fender even when the forks are fully compressed but that is a good thing for people to watch out for. Good tip!

Hey thanks for the video random awesome youtuber, I was thinking about one of these things.
Tim Bryant Glad I could help random Canadian viewer! Its pretty cool but I wish I would have waited and gotten the chrome version......

Wouldnt your radiator not be getting nearly as much air flow?
Do I have to be a tough guy biker man to use this horn?
skippygirl959 yep sorry
Dang it, plans foiled again.
The horn is in the way of the air cooling the radiator , not sure I'd like that spot.
sweet

battery ampere?
Did you have any problems with the bike engine temperature as it looks to obscure quite a bit of the radiator?
Nope, no problems at all. Not even in the stop and go traffic of a parade on a hot day when all of the Harleys were overheating.....
@@eacardoc1 weird, in all the years and of all the harleys I've owned, I'll be damned if I've ever had one overheat.
😍😍 thanks
what size fuse did you use
I was kinda expecting something more.
not loud..

It's not a train horn!
Son of a biscuit that will never fit under all the plastic on my bike...its like 5x the original horn size, guess im stuck with the wimpy horn
Sorry to hear that. I ran with the same dilemma on my Indian scout. I'll put on my helmet lol
