Specially with Ep 15, you can feel Subaru's rage and agony along with Betelguese's craziness
And two episodes in season 2, don’t know the exact number but one for Subaru’s VA and one for takahasi rie (Emilia)
I watched the dub and it was amazing. Seeing these clips from the sub makes me think it’s the same case with the sub as well.

When she said "it has been rough hasn't it " literally gave me chills because in the future you find out a lot of crazy stuff and rewatching it you see it in a different light completely. I highly recommend to rewatching the show after the second season!

I think maybe it’s because all of the events he experienced were preplanned or it was made to happen like that according to Roswaal, so watching it without season two it’s messed up because he’s going through what he’s going through but with season two it’s even worse because he was put into those situations purposely. @@KyosisPlays yeah, they usually do, but not always. Sometimes they get into the bit so much, or they just laugh at each other so much that they miss important dialogue.
Still, when it comes to paying attention to what they're watching, they're better than most reaction channels. I just don't like their dirty humor sometimes.

"Do you think that was rough?" should be asked instead.
I know y'all are caught up with the anime. But the moment Rem saw Subaru in a fragile emotional state (on Emilias lap after crying his eyes out) was the moment she found he was not a threat or spy. Dealing with the village could've been a plus. But the writer is trying to get you to lean in on moments in the dialogue being things that trigger larger events or actions in the story. Due to it really showing a shift in the character. Subaru was secretive and fake, gets murked, Subaru finally acts or is vulnerable (from perspective outside of the viewers), he's gained trust. It's rather small moments that actually make a huge shift in the story which is fantastic in my opinion.

Subaru's crying scene is so powerful.. I remember crying too when watching it for the 1st time.

Something they don't quite explain is that Subaru's ability happens as soon as he dies. As in, often times after R.b.D is activated, he still feels the lingering effects or pain of his death.

having seen season 2. and realizing that roswal left after Subaru exposed that he had knowledge of where the vase was. means that homie had suspicions and was already testing Subaru...bruh. the foresight.
Actual spoiler
Roswaal knew Subaru can "redo" from the start, or even long before that. Just as he said in S2, Subaru is his only hope, the strongest card in the deck. All this time Ros' been preparing for Subaru's arrival, placing obstacles in front of him, in order to methodically reforge him into an inhuman determinator who'd walk over anyone or anything on the way to their mutual goal, just like himself.

Roswaal sent Elsa in the beginning episodes, obviously. The only difference was that he actually didn’t want Elsa to kill Subaru or Emilia. He only wanted her to give them trouble, and she was actually going to kill him later on. He wanted to test his resolve. He DIDNT send Meili. She actually went after Subaru of her own volition, she was getting revenge for Elsa. Which means Roswaal DID NOT plan for the mansion arc to happen. Once he realized something was going on tho, he took advantage of the situation and let Subaru figure it out on his own. Same with arc 3, he does that little smile when Subaru defends Emilia. Because he KNOWS Subaru will have a bad time.

Ros doesn't plan things to happen, he only does what the book tells him to do. By hiring Elsa and giving her those specific instructions he's set many different things in motion, and most probably didn't know about some of them. He doesn't care what Subaru has to do or go through, he's only concerned with following the book to a T.

Roswaal said something went wrong with Elsas instructions. The book tells Roswaals fate, and since Subaru was a huge part of his plans, he only knew what was going on with the people near him. The person who contracted Elsa fucked up and didn’t give the full plans to Elsa, Roswaal probably didn’t know this because it only tells HIS future. Subaru plays a huge part in Roswaals future, thats why knew so much about him.
Thats why Roswaal couldn’t account for Otto picking Subaru up during his lowest moment in arc 4. Ottos fate was not part of Roswaal, so he was unable to account for him. Same with Meili, he probably didn’t knew Meili was gonna do what she was gonn, only a vague idea.
The Otto thing isn’t confirmed but it’s probably really likely since he could have easily eliminated Otto if he knew Otto was gonna ruin his plans. The book of wisdom isn’t all seeing, it only tells the owners future.

The sleep theory doesn’t track though cuz he lived for like 3 days before dying so he must have slept in between those days right ........ now I’m thinking that it’s like a video game and he needs to just reach certain checkpoints or complete certain events
He needs to get out of a situation that normally He couldn't get out of, in short, survive. Otherwise He'll return to the same place no matter what.
I think the points are marked by her after he manages to succesfully complete a difficult part of his life.
yeah i think it's just misinformation. even tho it's not related, now they know why Beatrice "knew" him even tho he reset. because he slept (on screen at least) a total of two time, one when he was recovering at the beginning of the arc and two is when Beatrice suck his mana and past out. The check point was the second time while we viewers would have thought it was the very beginning of the arc.
so yeah! technically Beatrice did know him for abit.

Seriously, the voice acting in Re:Zero is probably the best I've ever heard in an anime...
Subaru pushed her out the way because due to her blind rage she missed that the leader puppy had ambushed her blind spot and all those that got him were able to get her. He wanted to save her life, kind of like pushing a person out the way of a truck.
*sigh* seeing their reactions now really makes me excited about how they’re going to react in the later episodes 🙂

In every shonen, there's a character that tries to jump in the main characters fight & they get stopped by the wise character (I.e. Piccolo), and they are told, "You'd only be getting in their way. They'd have to worry about protecting you while fighting the enemy."
Which is ultimately what became of this situation too. Subaru ended up burdening Rem in the end.

I understand what you are talking about mate, but ReZero is not a shonen, so that trope doesn't necessary work here.
In the very first episode Subaru was watching from the corner as the two people were fighting and getting killed in the fight he's caused. He's learned the hard way that the fear of getting hurt or killed is nothing compared to seeing someone die, be it his fault for not helping or not.
I think the first guy explained perfect it was literally instinct she about to get attacked and he pushed her out the way and she literally did the same thing for him a few scenes before that. He told her he trusted her and he knows she got his back before they even started fighting. He returned the favor is why I saw, I thought it made sense.

It's not every time he sleeps, it just happen to be after he wondered into the forbidden library and got folded. In this arc he kept dying on the third day in the mansion, which is why he made such a big deal out of surviving to the forth day.
The fact that he keeps coming back to life also seems to make him more willing to sacrifice himself for others.
And the Rem-ification of ReZERO begins!! 🤩

Gotta give Subaru credit for his fortitude. After all this crap, I’d honestly be through giving a shit and would have just disappeared (or tried to). As much as I adore all these characters, unless I had foreknowledge that garunteed without me they will die, I wouldn’t be able to force myself to stay. I’d be too afraid, too convinced I couldn’t truly win them over, and too broken inside from dying over and over. Tho, knowing this series, I’d just be hunted and killed by Rem, or stopped by the clown fucker, or caught by Emilia as I start to leave or killed by a certain future threat, or or or.

I just wanted to say that I enjoy watching you guys react to everything and I genuinely laugh my ass off between the edits and just how you guys react and what you say. Honestly my favorite react channel. I will literally watch the newest ep of whatever n then come here to watch it again. You guys are so great, keep up the good work.
Also I do love that you guys are already seeing that Subaru is going through a lot of trauma and are seeing why he is the way he is. Subaru gets way too much hate in my opinion and I think its undeserved. He isn't like other anime MC's who are cowards or wishy washy for the sake of suspense or for no reason. He acts the way he does because he is just a dumb kid. I've seen so many people say that they hate him because he can just reset whenever and fix stuff so why doesn't he just do that and act like it's no big deal but regular trauma fucks people up in real life and I cant imagine my 17 yo self trying to go through something like this and stay sane. He doesn't have a super power, he isn't special, he is cursed, cursed to die over and over and over until he gets it right and even then he can't save everyone. He has to go to the brink of his own sanity and sacrifice himself, without losing himself to his own despair. So I think he deserves a little more credit then what he gets. I honestly think he is one of the most relatable and realistic characters I've seen in anime. I think mother's basement said it best that this show shows realistic trauma and how its dealt with.
