Apparently ARC 7 (this episode is in ARC 3) the author said ARC 7 is supposed to be the darkest it's ever been. So can't wait to see that animated in like season 5 or 6 of the anime.

We still don't know who summoned Subaru to Re Zero world, even if Satella gave Subaru "Return By Death"(supposedly Authority of Envy) this does not mean anything! Also Echidna hates Satella if you forgot, so about Roswaal - no! Roswaal using Book of Wisdom uses Subaru to achieve his main goal... And Echidna is dead so there's no way that she can interact with outside world, so about "Echidna summoned Subaru" you can forgot immediately, plus it doesn't make sense
Episode 15 is one of if not the saddest anime episodes I’ve ever seen. Just seeing how Subaru loses everything and he just gives up, wandering aimlessly back to the mansion with nowhere else to go. I don’t know many people who could come back from something like that.
And then season 2 shows up...

@@okeeguguru Thats disappointing because it misses the entire point. Subaru is extremely flawed and reckless. He was shown to be extremely spontaneous and having no filter whatsoever. So it makes sense that he would act like an idiot. He wasn’t even acting THAT stupid. And him choosing Emilia is his choice to make. Even Rem knew he was gonna do it.
Idk if you watch other react channels but some other ones STILL hate Subaru. Even up until his backstory. Thats so fucked man. Its really sad because it shows that people just want a perfect protagonist with no flaws

Ln reader here, I’ll explain : basically, Petelguese is gatekeeping insanity. It’s weird, but he is. Subaru definitely lost his mind - he’s constantly referred to ‘madman wearing Natsuki Subaru’s flesh’ throughout the process of the loop where he breaks, as well as described to be ‘living between dreams and reality’. However , there is one thing. Subaru COULD break free from his insanity if he truly wanted to, but he was preventing himself on a subconscious level, because he thought he truly completely lose his mind if he did so. That’s why he started coming back when Rem sacrificed herself for him. Also why he kept chanting ‘I’ll kill you.’ He was using his rage against petelguese to keep himself from going insane, which is also why he acts so rashly the next loop - his rage is keeping him from breaking.

I have watched well over a hundred anime, thus having seen thousands of episodes, but episode 15 still stands among the top as my 2nd favorite anime episode, right after Steins Gate EP 22. This show always gave me WTF moment but I could mostly express them, then this episode comes along and when the end credits started to roll I just sat on my desk, jaw opened up to the floor not making a sound except for breathing. This was one of the most mindblowing experiences I ever had and what made Re Zero one of my favorite animes. The only other thing so far that I can think of that is as mindblowing as this is the reveal of Gintoki's backstory in Gintama episode 305; this was truely perfection....

Yeah episode 15 was raw but I think that both season 2 episode 8 and 11 if you count the exclusion then those two far surpass episode 15 I'd say
Rem can heal herself to a certain degree after being heavily wounded, especially as a demon. So even after her neck and arms got twisted up she was able to move after healing up.
Lupas reaction and little punch at 24:15 is just brilliant, as if hes trying to punch the monster in the show xD !
Watching this episode again reminds me why Rem is always Best Girl.

I agree that ending literally had me shook and was my favorite scene ever from any anime. It was just done so well with the music and just the way it ends and credits roll had my mouth wide open that shit was soooo good!!!
This episode was actually my favorite episode of the series it was so dark and beautiful at the same time. This was the one that made me love the show.
You do not understand the amount of P A I N my brain was going threw when I was watching these episodes. It took me some time before my brain was ready to start watching again.

@@DamageMaximo Kaji and Matsuoka are pretty much same caliber for me and definitely some of the best, but I don't think either of them can even stand up to Hiroshi Kamiya, Tomokazu Sugita or Mamoru Miyano. Those three can play EVERYTHING and make it pretty much perfect ^^

I think this episodes ending is so perfectly directed just because of that ending scene. When Subaru gets killed and those credits come up, you usually see those at the end of a damn movie or something, like THE END. But its really not the end.

I'd say Evangelion did a great job too, but this looked like some lovecraftian shit, Re:zero had some low points, but this was the first time we saw the real re:zero. This isn't even the most disturbing and scary death too lol, but that will probably come in season 4 (arc 6), sooo, either read the novels or wait half a decade to see the bloodshed animated lol

I think everybody has done this at one point or another. They act as if they're the most pitiful person on earth to bring out the sympathy of others. It's not a new concept. Homeless people have done this since the beginning of civilization.

Y’all, I decided to watch this show while I was on a treadmill at the gym. When I got to episode 15, I had to stop jogging when the scene in the cave happened. Not gonna lie, great show, but it gives you a hell of a time if you aren’t careful. Looking forward to this next one. It’s gonna get you bad. :)
