This really was some fine damn acting by Maya Erskine because up til this point except for a few moments here and there you think that John was more heavily into the relationship than her. She was very vulnerable, emotional, and defeated looking in this scene with Bev.
Someone pointed out to me when Jane is complimenting the soup, she thinks john gave her the soup the neighbor made and was getting in one last dig on John. That was the final straw for him.
Boy their relationship is a doozy and it has impacted their ability to successfully complete missions. They have fallen so deeply in love with each other that their personal struggles are blending in with their assignments and they are not separating truth from fallacy. Their emotions are getting in the way of success. I am finding John is to into the journey of the mission, he so much wants to have fun during his missions that it sometimes blurs his capability to finish the mission more quicker. He should have taken Bev out long ago but he was enjoying the attention he was receiving from her that he let it go to long. And Jane is so in love with John that she can’t tolerate any other woman at this point to even look at John, she is finally showing some kinks in her armor and she has a vulnerable side to her. She so desires for a man to love her for who she is and now John is drifting away from her and it is killing her inside. Boy this show is really so much about relationships and the messy things you go through on putting two people together that are broken but figure out a way to still love each other and to realize we are in this together until the end. Episode 8 is setting up to be a doozy.
Spot on. When Glover mentioned in an interview that John is like a golden retriever it makes sense when you consider his qualities which on the other side of the coin Jane’s qualities resemble a cat. In fact in episode 5 Ron Pearlman’s character was doing a crossword puzzle and he asks Jane what is a six letter word for a cat’s natural enemy she answers canine pretty symbolic and cool little nugget
@@AT-gu1vr Good points I agree Jane fits the mentality of cat, he did say she had predator eyes and retrievers are lovable family dogs who are fiercely loyal and John fiercely loyal to Jane
Except there was no timeline on the kill. So as long as the interference was from Jane, it's her fault. Even if you think John was going to fail, she still failed it before he did. It's like if someone is dying of cancer and you come and shoot them, you can't claim they died by cancer. Even if it was inevitable, as soon as you intervened, it was your fault.
@@donemu9096he revealed a lot of information to the target. Not a great spy, is he? Also Bev seems to be in the same line of work. She was definitely manipulating him and probably aware of everything going on.

Aw, man, I wanted to watch your "Avatar/Airbender" reaction first but I love this Black male talk so here I am! LOL!!! (And as somebody who has binged, I found *all* of your predictions very interesting!) THANKS!!!!!
I’m sorry, but y’all do know that sleeping or kissing was completely unnecessary for John’s mission right? Like Jane’s point was that kissing (arguably more intimate and personal than sleeping together) someone he was supposed to kill is so incredibly messed up, especially when rather than killing her (which Hihi told him several times to do which he promptly ignored, despite it being the only factor of his mission), he instead dated her for a month WHILE married, WHILE spilling all their secrets to her… A TARGET… A RIVAL AGENT… just to let her get away in the end. There is no way on earth Jane has any blame for that from a mission standpoint or a relationship standpoint.
Jane is to blame. She treats her cat better than her man. She emasculates him, talks down to him and she's controlling. They don't even sleep together. John said it himself, he kept Bev around because she made him feel good and Jane makes him feel like shit. They are spies, so they can't just get a 'divorce' and go see other people.
Obviously John should have communicated better but you actually have to be blind to think Jane has done nothing wrong especially since the only reason this ended the way it did was because Jane didn't talk to John instead of playing games with Bev.
@@calvintyler9281 Actually, I believe the only reason it ended the way it did is because John is extra af for no reason, decided to have a month long emotional affair with a target when he should've killed her in 3 days or less, which Hihi repeatedly told him to do until they called Jane in to handle the situation (without providing her with vital information on the reason she had to handle the situation). All John does is fly by his feelings which leads to messed up missions, to the point where he even insults Jane for "having no emotions". So the one time she gets emotional and confronts Bev on her husbands emotional infidelity, she needs to take all the blame? When he spends at a month going to a targets house (who's a beautiful interesting black woman mind you, why wouldn't Jane feel threatened and confused), who John said NOTHING about to Jane (Mind you, it's been a month and Hihi already considered his mission failed which is why they sent the more capable partner to handle it), Bev manipulates that situation to get out of getting caught by someone who wasn't trying to date her. and THAT'S when John finally decides that he should finish the mission after his movie date was interrupted... so the only reason the misison failed is because JANE didn't communicate properly? Sureeeee.

So john was in the middle of the mission, hihi tells jane he was failed, but hihi tells john that Jane was captured. So hihi fucked the mission up.
Hi hi was causing tension
Ole girl being a target was so unexpected
Ole girl being a comp assassin was outta left field

That mission fail was all on John, Jane said it he had a whole month to kill the target Bev. She said it should’ve taken him three days tops
