5:10 one of my favourite things about Cory is that he‘ll ask questions like “what is ancient philosophy?” and “was hitler and Churchill around at the same time?” but knows things like the full backstory behind the shit boss and the shit boss’s song
And knows the frankly genius levels of accents, geography, and hearing ability, to hear a scouse accent and not know what it is but detect Welsh tones (the scouse accent is Liverpool, which is in England but is very close to and famous for it's cross-over with Wales. Liverpool is sometimes known as "the capital of North Wales", because it's right by the northern border). Really fascinating that he somehow knew that and recognised it in his deep subconscious.

I find it amazing how they as Americans can hear the Welsh influences, but me as a scouser cannot hear any Welsh in scouse, or scouse in Welsh. They sound completely different to me.
EDIT: For anyone who doesn't know, the city of Liverpool, home of the scouse accent, is very very close to Wales. There's overt cultural cross-over, Liverpool is even sometimes thought of as the capital of northern Wales despite being an English city, they're that culturally and geographically close. So it is a total fact that the accents influence each other, it's not just some random thing Corey imagined.
(Anyone who thought it sounded Irish too, like how Chris repeated it in an Irish accent, Liverpool is also very very much an Irish city. Scousers joke about how almost everyone is half-Irish, etc. So there's definitely tons of Irish accent mixed in there too. Like with me and my mother, I'm scouse, mild accent, and my mother just sounds plain English to me, but strangers always literally ask her outright if she's Irish because they hear it so obviously, so no doubt I sound a little Irish to some people too, and so does half of Liverpool for the same reason).
