    Yes, the commentary was horrible, but don't blame it on the commentators too much. They were asked to commentate a game they had never played competitively.

    Hey is there a DFW Soul Calibur community still going?

      Yes! We have a weekly tournament on Fridays at Freaks and Geeks, although people don't go every single week. We usually coordinate when we're interested in going.
      You can join the DFW 3D fighters discord for discussion here: discord.gg/Hydv7Bw

    Lol the commentators trying to guess who lolomx character is?
    Do they even soul calibur bruh?

    • @Solioxrz362
      @Solioxrz362  5 років тому +1

      They literally don't. The one guy who applied to do Soul Calibur commentary somehow got rejected for it, so they put these two on instead.

      For some reason, the people in charge of organizing commentary rejected a Soul Calibur/Tekken commentator (IceColdEdge), and instead they put two people who had never touched this game in a competitive setting on the mics. I don't fault Bozz and Chris Graf, because I'm sure they felt just as awkward having to commentate this game as we felt listening to them mess up LoloMx's name.
      Next time the event needs to put some people actually connected to the game in the booth. At the very least, it's a respect thing for the players that made it that far in bracket.

      @@Solioxrz362 The situation is a bit murky, and I definitely don't know enough to call anybody out. I don't even remember if Ryan Champ (IceColdEdge) told me he had applied before I talked with him the following Monday. I honestly thought they had no one else when I got asked to commentate alongside Bozz. I did ask people like Ryan about the game before I went to the event to try and shore up my knowledge going in. I really only signed up to commentate BBTag (and SFV, but James Chen and David Graham were there :P). If you want to see a better example of my commentary check out the Dreamhack top 4 for that game! I have played Soul Calibur since the Dreamcast days casually, but I even told the organizers that I had never played it competitively. Ultimately my best guess is that it just got lost in the chaos of managing a major event. If I see a similar situation in the future, I will do a better job about asking the community for expertise both on and off the mic. I do know that the organizers have heard the feedback, and will learn from this going forward.
      This may be the only public post I make about this btw. I'm thankful that the majority of the people who watched the event do not blame Bozz or myself for lack of knowledge. We were asked to commentate, and we went at it the best we could...I'm still shook from that Yoshi teleport though...

    Decent matches.
    Just what I noticed.
    1st azwel, i believe he has too many tools to be considered balanced in this game. He looks like someone who could dominate all other character in different range or speed and looks like no weaknesses if played by a decent player. Imo I feel like you need little skills to win with him. No offense to bluegod though. I know he is a top sc player since scv.
    2nd. LoloMx imo did pretty well despite fighting an overwhelming character. He had many chances to tip the scale in his favor but made some bad decisions in finals seconds. I think its on him. But I understand the struggle when you're fighting an overpowered(but not broken) character. Noteworthy is the fact that this commentators are disrespectful to lolo. Obv they dont know anything in the sc community but lolo is one of the greates sc players of all time. He was a champion in sc4 , scv and competing in top level in scvi.
    3rd Fyre, nice to see this guy improving more and more. Would prefer to see him improve his talik gameplay more rather than look for potential side characters.
    4th. Omegaxcn has been performing really well with his favorite taki. Hopefully he gets better and maybe had a chance to beat top players.
    Shout out to solio too for uploading this tourney vid. Kinda hard to find youtube vids of major scvi tourneys which imo could really help gain more popularity to the game if we have a dedicated channel recording and uploading this. Bummer the whole top 8 werent featured. Would like to see you solio against xeph
