@@misteromar2023I also heard they (the pack/family) hold a ceremony / death rituals together. But honestly I personally this is more common then not in species that lives in groups, wolves, whales, dolphins etc also mourn at these unfortunate events.
It's thought that mammoths have "graveyards" where they wonder off to, to un-alive aswell..
I think generally speaking animals are much more emotional and aware then we give credit for.
Kind of like how various species use "line" systems when there is a distinct food source, and they usually just grab just enough and then wanders off so next in line gets a grab

Not while she was eating. She was focusing on chewing. At least that's what I thot!!! Only when she sensed the baby trotting around too much she started to look in his direction and the timing was perfect, he tripped and she started walking toward him and he ran to her.

Elephants are so emotionally intelligent. The way baby runs back to mama after it just fell. Mom saw it happen and instantly goes into comfort mode. Amazing. It's exactly what happens at play grounds when a kid falls and the parent does the same.

I was lucky enough to work with this exact family of elephants back in 2019 the momma you see there in Pantsee (idk if i spelled it right) they where all so sweet and close to the keepers. This is in Boräs Djurpark in Sweden for anyone wondering.

Aww, when the baby fell, Mama went right over as the baby got up and ran to her. This is one of the most precious things I've ever seen the baby running around playing like this. Calfs are known to be clumsy and it's heartwarming, endearing to see momma and baby together like this. 💖 🙌🏻 💝
The most amazing thing about this video is how his mother reacted immediately when he falls (walking towards him) and how the little one ran to his mother for comfort :) The mother and child bond is beautiful with any species ❤

If the mother calf does mind at least its only until shes spent at abl6ut 6 years old and cant have babies a anymore so gets her throat slit. They all are playmates ❤❤ So cute to watch. Lil elephant got upset and embarrassed she fell down in front of her playmates went to hide behind her mother. Those little ones were like oh 😟 u fell down 😅😂 u made us run a lot … we deserve rest.
