my grandma got me into do by giving me a small emoji one. (i’m 12 close to 13) i instantly got hooked and my stepmom got my a mermaid one. while i was working on it i came across one of your videos and i’ve been watching your channel ever since. i also just recently started watching mrs. crotchet and coffee! keep up the great work 😁👍
One thing I’ve learned is that if you write on the plastic containers and then cover the writing with scotch tape, the writing comes off easier when you lift off the tape. Plus the tape also prevents your skin oils from smudging the ink.
Yes, that works awesomely Lol. I did that. Now I put down a piece of "scotch tape" (from the dollar general Lol), then a little label with the number and symbol, then another piece of tape on it. It's been perfect so far.
im actually 13 and my grandma got me into it. so I bought myself a felt bag that came with a light, pens, glue and that box storage container that has four attached. I actually watch your videos to become a much better diamond painter!
When my daughter sent me my first painting to do, I had a stash of empty pill bottles. (I'm a crafter, so you save stuff for possible uses.). I've been using them since. Just invested in a zippered case that will hold the drills for two of my small pics waiting to get done. Have stuck to my pill bottles for my large painting as I needed the different sized bottles for the larger amounts of drills. They fit nicely in a flat tray/basket from the dollar store.
I’m using an 18 ct egg container while I work on my current piece . Wrote the number inside each space. The current project had 18 shades. I even spray chalked painted the container so wouldn’t be tacky sitting on my table where I work on it.
I am new to diamond painting. I did not want to pay a lot of money until I found out if I liked it or not. I LOVE it. I checked with Harbor Freight but they were sold out of the containers so I went to Smart & Final and found 2 oz. Souffle Cups and Lids. The cups and lids were only $6.00 for 125. I am working on a DAC painting and put the labels from the sticker sheet on the side of the container. I have a box that I can put 45 containers in. I am able to lay them on their sides with the labels up and it works perfectly for me right now. I have three other paintings so I am sure that I will be using a different kind of storage at a later date. Thank you so much for your very informative videos.
I'm not brand new to diamond painting but I haven't really been doing it for that long either. I've done like 8 so far. I just wanted to say thanks because I really enjoy your videos and I find them helpful. Between you, Mrs. Crochet and Coffee, and Stitcherista I've learned so much about the craft from watching your channels. Lately I've just kind of been taking in all of the tips I'm learning from the 3 of you and just trying everything and seeing what works best for me. So thank you for the enjoyable and helpful videos.
I’ve been diamond painting for a while now and I’ve been using the condiment containers for a while and I love them. Personally my favorite way to store my diamonds
Thank you for the info! I'm currently using the condiment containers, got from Walmart 50 for $3. It works and the price point was spot on. I'm using the lid from a copy paper box to hold them all... so they don't get knocked over by me or the fur babies. I think the 1 oz containers would be easier but the 2 oz containers get the job done. Someday I may upgrade to the Harbor Freight containers.
I also have tried many of the same storage containers...love your take on this subject...because it truly is to ones personal preference...you always but it out there for everyone!!! Fantastic video!!
Yes! Thank you! It's important to remember what works for one person might not work for another and that's why it's great to try them out til you find something that clicks!
I look forward to each and every one of your videos! I have pretty much watched all of them and also have watched quite a few of your lives. I don't always comment on them but I love to "lurk & work". Thank you for all of your ideas and tips and tricks. I enjoy both you and Mrs. Coffee actually the most.
For me the trick to use the tictac ones is not opening them to the fullest, open it just enough (max 90°). I'm kinda new to the craft but screwing containers are not the most accessible ones for me so that's how I work around that. Great video as always 😊
Ahh the taped bag method. I used that method for my first diamond painting. I have 2 cases just like the purple and black case you have. I have the 15& 30 count. I love them! Also for smaller diamond paintings I bought the 50 count plastic containers from amazon. I use those a lot. There are many creative ways. You will find what works for you. 🙂
Thanks for the video. I use the 2” x 3” baggies from Michaels. I recently bought 1,000 of the same bags from amazon though. Love the bag system but love that there are so many options.
It's so funny to me how much the storage container preferences differ! I absolutely love the tic-tac containers and craftmates lockables. I found I am not a fan of the harbor freight ones. Love that you went through so many options! :)
I find the craftsmate lockables very ideal. I love how aesthetic the binder is and how much space there is and all the spaces for drills. I might ask for one for my birthday since my Christmas list is full 😁
Got the tic-tac storage off Amazon and it was terrible 😅 ended up using 3oz plastic sample jars (from a bulk craft supply store online) shoved in a scrapbook paper storage container. Will be adding velcro to the bottoms of each jar and strips to the storage container so they stay in order and don't slide around!
I bought my lockable on Amazon in folder one of my favourites too Rachel. I like derice and harbour freight containers. On the same page as your choices. Thank you Rachel. Stay safe and well x
I got the 60 container that zips up because Stitcherista talked about it in her video and I love it. I will probably purchase one of the other containers for all my beeds that I have from other projects. If you haven't watched her video from yesterday of her Birthday gifts you have to!!
My favorite storage system is the briefcase style. I make a copy of the key onto sticker paper and cut them. They fit onto the tops of the vials. It is the most convenient style of storage, as it holds my pens, trays, tweezer, and copy of the picture with the key intact. Thank you for the video.
hey can you make a video on how to deal w the adhesive covers? like cutting them into smaller pieces, replacing the clear cover w parchment paper, etc. what’s your set-up as far as table, easel, clips to keep the canvas in place, etc. and how do you deal with a very large canvas where it gets in the way of the section you’re working on... ty, sorry if you’ve already made videos about these and i didn’t see them! 💓
I started with taping the baggies with my first painting. Now I use the 7x4 containers for small ones or those with few colours. I have the tictocs, and the Elizabeth Ward/ Darice knock off from AliExpress for the bigger paintings. They're pretty good actually.
Hi Rachel..., after watching this video, I decided to order from Amazon the Elizabeth Ward - 82 container set using the link you gave..., so you’ll get credit..., as of today, it was $27...., I had ordered the 42 container set about 2 weeks ago @ $17.57 each (I got two)..., but today that same set is, as of 05/21..., had jumped up to $42.45@. 😳🙄😳. Two weeks ago when I was looking at them, I also checked either Michael’s or JoAnn’s and their cost, at that time was..., $49.99@...! So that’s why I ordered the 42 set from Amazon then..., and boy..., am I glad I did. I have two Harbor Freight stores in my area..., and once the Stay-at-Home order in NJ has been lifted..., I may take a ride to the store to check it out..., but... now I know that my Elizabeth Ward 45 set(s) I ordered was a “steal”. I also ordered from Amazon stickers that are pre-printed with all the DMC number codes for the containers, it’ll look a lot better than my handwriting 🤪. Thx Rachel for your videos with tips and tricks and unboxing of DPing kits. Take care, Donna from Audubon, NJ, USA P.S. Rachel.., you also may want to take a look at this storage kit I saw on Amazon... images-na.ssl-images-amazon.com/images/I/71SyZf3rY0L._AC_SX679_.jpg It contains a combo of 84 jars.., and as of today - $35. UPDATE. Price has dropped on Amazon for the 45 container..., for those of you shopping on Amazon - check daily because their prices can fluctuate from day-to-day... 😳🙄😳
I recommend buying the Elizabeth Ward ones from Consumer Crafts. They often have them in sale at 25% off. I've gotten them as low as $12.95 and $14.95. www.consumercrafts.com/store/details/catalog/jewelry-storage-and-organizers/ewc0510 www.consumercrafts.com/store/details/catalog/jewelry-storage-and-organizers/ewc0511
Hi Rachel. I use several of the those containers. The little 24 (4 connected together) for crystal paintings and the round screw top (30 ct) for long-term crystal storage. I like the zipped 60 bottle mini suitcase. It comes is 30 bottles, 15 bottles and 10 bottles size (although I have no use for the 10 ct unless to travel with a emergency essential oil kit) Those mini suitcases are for travel with your essential oils for shows. As always love the video
Another great feature of the Elizabeth Warren storage is its flexibility. You can buy the individual containers by themselves. I have purchased some large and a couple of others. Whether you purchase a set of all small containers or the one of mix sizes, you are not restricted as you can truly customize with availability of this line extension.
I use the Elizabeth Ward system for kitting up and use zip lock baggies with the white label side for kitting down then I put them in DMC order into a plastic box/container great video 😍😍👍👍
Funny how as you've shown all the containers I'm agreeing with you on 1/2 of them as I've used them when I first started. I use the tic tac ones for my daughter when she has very small projects. I LOVE my 60pc container with the hard shell case. I have yet to use all 60 of them as you mentioned mostly the paintings are no more than 45colors. Thanks for doing this and be safe!
I use daily pill containers for my drills and then I dump the extras into a bigger pretty container that I got at the dollar tree! I just use a expo marker to mark it lol
I live right between two Harbor Freight stores so I use those containers and I really like them; but I just ordered the Elizabeth Ward one that you showed. I like that it has more containers and that they are different sizes so I wanted to try one out. 🌸
I use the tic tac ones for my 30x40 projects and they seem to work really well. I bough the Harbor Freight one for my big DAC painting that I got of Anastasia. The craftable ones look cool! My favorite though is my Huacan that is already kitted it's awesome to not worry about it so far.
I have tried Elizabeth Wards, the 28 count with the 4 joined, tic tacs and condiment containers. Hands down my favourite is the condiment containers. You never have to wonder if all the drills will fit in a container.
I started with a round pack with 8 compartments from a dollar store. After that, I thought about getting the Elizabeth Ward one, but I heard it was easy to break your nail while opening the packages, which is a no-go for me. Also, the different size units just complicated things. I tried the Lockables from Michael's and I liked them. You're right they do hold a lot. But I really wanted individual containers. I saw the briefcase one, I chanced ordering it on-line, and I LOVE it. The containers are a nice size. Extra gems that don't fit, I keep in a small zip bag and refill the container when necessary. I keep these extra gems in the net compartment in the lid, along with the image of the painting I'm doing. I also throw in a pen, tray, and wax. I like that everything is all together. I love that the containers are all in order in the case, kept secure and in place with the soft foam. Thanks for sharing information about different containers and letting us know your preferences!
I wanted to love the Elizabeth Ward ones, but I keep breaking my nails. (I do have crazy thin nails) and my sister uses her teeth to open them so we had to go with something different.
I’ve ordered the Harbor Freight containers online. I also use chalk markers to number the small containers because it lasts long enough for the painting to get finished, but then wipes off easily.
Bro condiment container is so fking meeee. I'm impressed it was mentioned AT ALL. I have them and for me I started out using them and due to that I have tried many other storage systems including Elizabeth ward trays and tic tac containers and the spin top bottles etc. I literally want boujie storage like everyone and find myself right back at condiment containers no matter what for SO many reasons that I will list here for the curious. - incredibly inexpensive for a large quantity. - there are clear all around ones so you can perfectly see the color diamond inside from any angle. - you can literally sharpie the lids if you don't got labels or can't see the standard labels that come with sometimes. - if you need to toss the lids or containers because damage or that dmc is not in your new kit. Recycle that bad puppy. - they stack and store beautifully. - they come in various sizes all stupidly perfect but the "xl" which still fits in the palm of your hand can hold youre crazy amounts of 310's. Seriously most other diamond storages I've seen can't hold the amount of diamonds in one small stackable crystal clear inexpensive storage solution out there atm. - you can frisbee these things across the room and your diamonds will be fine. Literally don't do that, but if you drop it it's highly likely that you won't risk diamonds taking flight vacations in other parts of your house. Put the stocking and vacuum away. I see you. - because of the container style getting diamonds successfully back in without dropping a few, it's really quick and easy to get diamonds back into the container. Which is great for that dp speed if you're swapping colors. I think I got it all. If I missed anything feel free to share. I personally work at a hotel with an in house restaurant so I took a sleeve of 345 pieces and lids. I've paid $0 for my storage with enough for all colors and my restaurant kindly spent a few cents on me.
I have the tic tac containers. Saved myself from many tears after accidentally dropping an entire container...heh. 🤣😬😅. This is as long as the individual containers are closed. Been there too.
I always used the Elizabeth Ward Tray, but i just have the little containers and they dont work soo well for my large diamond paintings, cause they dont hold so many diamonds. The Craft Mates Lockables look so good! Glad that i found them on Amazon since i am living in Germany and was sad, that i cant get the boxes from harbor freight 😂
I tend to use my Harbor Freight containers mostly. I actually just bought a few more yesterday while I was out running errands. I paid $4.99 USD for them :-)
I kit up using David’s Tea samplers tubs... pretty useful for colours like black 310... i have the big ones and the small ones. Also, a lot of people at work drink tea so... i asked them to keep them for me and boy! People do not like to throw stuff away so I got so much,!!
You can buy packs of 10 condiments containers from dollar tree if your in the us also pill bags work great for small ziplocks if your starting out. They also just started selling the harbor fright containers online.
the problem with condiment cups is that they are really thin, cheap plastic, and do not last more than one or two openings there is a site www.clearbags.com, which sells, many different sizes and styles of ahem, clear bags
Great showcase of storage options. I had been contemplating the toctac containers bc I found a good eBay seller of the 64 box sets of these containers. However, I dont like how easy the plug lid can get loose after just a short amount of use. I am on the hunt for the right storage for a 75+ color painting. I contunue to wish that Harbor Frieght's storsge can be made in a larger size (like a 48 boxes version)
I have to say since i was gifted those harbour freight containers, I love them, still use my baggies if they come in baggies if not HF it is. tfs please take care and stay safe love and hugs Cal x
Harbor Freight $4.99 on the 25 piece storage and u can now order them online here in the US. Just ordered mine on Monday cause the store only had 1 in stock...
I have tried the baggies, the screw together and the tic tack ones. Hated them all. I do have a lockable and love that for projects that have large amounts of drills. My favorite is my Elizabeth Ward ones. I recommend watching Consumer Crafts as they often have sales. I've gotten them as low as $12.95 and $14.95. I have dropped my Elizabeth Ward one and thank God they have never spilled.
Actually you can get the Harbor freight containers online. I was going to buy them online at their store until I realize there was a store in my town about 3 miles away.
Harbor Freight does have the containers online, however they're very slow to actually process and ship the orders, and their customer service is basically non existent--I've been waiting almost a month and they haven't even filled my order yet so I requested them to cancel the order and I'll get containers somewhere else. I do have a couple of the Elizabeth Ward cases, they're awesome. I also have the 60 jar container...got it from Amazon. The pocket in the lid is great for holding the bags of drills that don't fit in the jars. I've dropped both the Elizabeth Ward and the 60 jar case and have not had any popped up lids and spilled drills from either one. :)
I write symbol And number on my label for jars on the last case kit. Loved the other idea as I was looking for something cheap for other kits as I can’t always keep 2 kits set up and I’ve found recently I like to have two up at a time! You have great videos! Thanks
I wish you could have seen the look on Edward's face as he heard you say the Elizabeth Ward storage was more on the pricey side (can't remember your exact words)....he looked at me with utter disbelief! 🤣🤣🤣 Then he heard someone else mention the price of a DAC painting....and, well, I'm busted because now he knows 🤷♀️🤣
Hello!!! I had that dilemma for storage, and to try to figure out economic way. While putting cucumber sauce on my Gyro, it hit me. The container my sauce came in would be perfect. So I ordered 200(bags came in 100 per bag with lids), so two bags will be coming. There are different sizes & I chose the 2oz.
I wonder why most people seem to use the colour number code, or symbol, to label the bead containers. I just label my containers 1 to 60, then follow the legend from the kit. That way, I don't have to re-label when I go to a new project and the containers are really quick to find. It's seems to be a lot more efficient.
It's all a matter of finding something that works for you. Not everyone's brains work the same way! I used to label like that, then by DMC, now symbol. One is not better than another, just better for that person. 😊
@@RachelRaeCraft That's true. I just watched your how to kit and un-kit video and was surprised to see that you actually sort the trays by symbols. That would drive me insane, but it clearly works for you. 😊It's fun seeing how different people do things.
@@sandralindley6016 try to find the dingbats font, all kinds of funky symbols in that, well 26 anyway, 52 with the shift key maybe the industry could standardize
my grandma got me into do by giving me a small emoji one. me too 😋

My mom sells scentsy and had a bunch of extra sample containers and they work perfectly when you take the wax out for little containers
Get your mum out of Scentsy before she bankrupts herself
I am new to diamond painting. I did not want to pay a lot of money until I found out if I liked it or not. I LOVE it. I'm new to diamond painting, and for now I'm using the little bags that came with the kit and a few pill containers I had laying around the house =)
I use the tic tac containers. Faster. The plastic bags for the long term.
I love the Tic Tac system. I’ve not had any problems with the tops.

Hi. I had mini clothes pins so i string my drills in baggies. 😄🌹
I love love love my Elizabeth Ward containers. I have two for both my WIPs. It just works so perfectly.
I absolutely love my Elizabeth Ward containers. The one thing I wish they had is a smaller portable tray to just set up the actual drills you need.
The little stackable drawer cabinets (garage, hardware) meant for holding screws ,etc..work great for diamonds,dp tools
Thanks for showing all of these.
For now I got ziplock snack bags and cut them in half and taped the cut side. It works for now. Easy to pour and bugger than the bags I get with kits.
I love all ur videos, u made me want to diamond paint ❤️ keep on the good job 👍🏼😊🙏🏼God bless from 🇰🇼 kuwait

I love diamond painting and I just bought new containers

Thanks, Janet!
Helpful and well presented as always!
Thanks!
Husband & I love the Elizabeth Ward storage system, while we DP
For storage we use 2" baggies.
Love the craftables. Love tic tacs for long term .
I love the darice container
I use the tic tac ones for my 30x40 projects and they seem to work really well. I bough the Harbor Freight one for my big DAC painting that I got of Anastasia. The craftable ones look cool! My favorite though is my Huacan that is already kitted it's awesome to not worry about it so far.
I have tried Elizabeth Wards, the 28 count with the 4 joined, tic tacs and condiment containers. Hands down my favourite is the condiment containers. You never have to wonder if all the drills will fit in a container.
I use the craftmates and I use the symbol system so it is easier to find the color I need without having to check the color table.
It's available in Canada for the CraftMates binder at Michael's. I just bought one.
(I do have crazy thin nails) and my sister uses her teeth to open them so we had to go with something different.
try using the side of your tweezers opposite the tips
We also use Craft Mates love them
I’ve ordered the Harbor Freight containers online. I also use chalk markers to number the small containers because it lasts long enough for the painting to get finished, but then wipes off easily.
dry erase markers work well, too!
Yes! I was specifically thinking of you when I mentioned it.
Oolala. I wasn't expecting that! Needless to say I'm always lurking hour stuff. 😏 Even when you think I'm gone I'm here.
Personally I prefer the containers that come in the briefcase because you can store a bit of equipment in them and they are super portable
Just went to our local Harbor Freight and picked up their containers and I love them! I got mine for $5, and it is so nice instead of the baggies!
I’m doing my very first painting and I’m using old Vichy sample pots and I decanted some of my beads to use their container. Whatever works!!
I use the craftmates lockable and really haven't had any issues. I LOVE how big they are because I rarely need more than one slot for each container.
I only use Harbor Freight containers. $5.00 is a great price and I use them over & over again! Stickers come right off!
👍Super job, as always. Great to see you hun. Give Luna and James a hug from us please. Take Care and stay safe! Love and prayers to you all. 💖
Thank you, Nana. You too!
Thank you for sharing 😊💗👍
I like 82 elizabeth ward storage. I have both 45 and 82 container but a bit expensive for shipping cost to me. Thanks for sharing. 😊
I use. 60 bottle case , 30 bottle case and Elizabeth wards theses are amazing
I have the harbor freight containers, they are amazing. I bought the tic tacs kind but I haven’t received them yet.
14:41 :oo I actually have it bc of u tysm!!!
New to DP and this is so informative. I have the cubbies, but will be getting Craftmates soon.
They are $5.99 I got some yesterday. Also you CAN get them on their website. I’ve gotten them there also. Just FYI. I’ve these containers.
Pills bottles are good too! Ask at your family members!!
I love your voice so much❤️
I ♥️ my Harbor Freight containers.
wax bags that I know of, anyway, come from bakery supply/cake decorating/candy making shops (I've done a bit of everything in my life)
OMG Rachel I have learned so much today. Thank you.
Harbor freight here I come. Also could you tell me where I
Get cover minders please?
Harbor Freight $4.99 on the 25 piece storage and u can now order them online here in the US. Just ordered mine on Monday cause the store only had 1 in stock...
I'm watching your videos instead of spending money on storage, accessories and of course some more paintings 🤣
Love it
I have tried the baggies, the screw together and the tic tack ones.
New to dp but my sis is really into it and I think she'll be getting some Elisabeth Wards and a hand turned drill pen for her birthday 😇
Whoops! LOL
I found some containers at $store. And small ziplock baggies.
I really wish someone would create a font of the special characters that are used on some canvases!
@@sandralindley6016 try to find the dingbats font, all kinds of funky symbols in that, well 26 anyway, 52 with the shift key maybe the industry could standardize
I use a small sauce container for my storage
I just checked Harbor Freight’s website and the do ship those organizers in the US! It’s 25 containers for $5.
Yes, they ship within the US, I meant they don't ship internationally.
