Wow! That blew me away! And how nice to be able to sing with your child as a grown woman now!
I just saw him 3 days ago (on 9/24/2021 in Fort Lauderdale) and they were fantastic!! Geoff sounded like he did in the 80’s! It was a Rage for Order/ Empire tour. They did both albums in their entirety and it was something to behold! He seems to have different band mates now, and they were really good.
I got to meet them all backstage. I was really only there to see Geoff, who I’ve loved since the days of Myth and the Mob. But, they were all so gracious and real, and wanted to know what I had to say and what I thought. Geoff was no egotistical asshole. He was humble and loving, and I have to tell you, it was the best experience I’ve ever had at a concert. I’ve seen QR since the early 80’s for each of their new release tours. I saw them do MindCrime several times, and in total, I’ve probably seen them 20 times before they broke up.
As for the breakup…lots of folks have lots of opinions about it but none of us were there and if my band mates had just fucked over my wife and daughter, I’d certainly do more than spit on someone. And people are gonna get their panties wadded up over some spit? Puh-lease!!
All I know and care about is that at 62 he’s still killing it, and as long as he’s willing to go out and tour for the fans, I’m willing to come out and see him! I got to hang out with the best rock vocalist of all time, and I feel like I won the lottery!!
This whole album gives me chills. It never gets old, even today, so so many years later....
Geoff my man, you will never truly know the influence and the inspiration you have had on so many, such as myself, love ya buddy!
Operation: Mind crime is a top 5 album of all time for me. Saw them 4 times on that tour in 86-87
me too.... then the reunion...the first one in CT... amazing.. Love em. My top 5 as well..I agree
@Rigorous Bass I remember seeing them open when Dokken was playing Back for the Attack. Queensryche dropped a couple of the Mindcrime songs on us live that summer. I'll NEVER forget that concert. They were amazing to see and hear.
@@Savage1776_ Way Ahead! I saw them in Milwaukee Wisconsin. Mind Crime. It was filmed live. (And was sold on VHS ) God I'm old.
theDank Savage me too👊🏻
Help my mind here. I think the Ryche' opened for aerosmith in 88-89 along with the black crowes. I can't remember..lol they sang 'I don't believe in love' .. damn I'm old.
I'll always love Tate for what he brought to the table back in the 80's. But it's hard to forgive whoever's responsible for destroying the Queensryche we all loved so much. Neither band with ever have half of what the original Ryche had. I'll continue to see them both, but with heavy heart.
Punching out your drummer and spitting on him on stage kinda leaves no way back imo.
@@Tomtraubert2009 …is that what happened? I never really got much of the story as to what broke Queensryche up Are there any more details than that? long time fan I’m just curious
fcking eh right. I never saw any of it coming
No one destroyed them. They ruled, concord, and left an imprint on us. Thank you metal band.
even after all the years.....he's STILL got it!!
"I see myself in you." Awesome moment for father and daughter.
Great performance exellant voices
@diascrive He's talking about Geoff and Emily, not the characters they are portraying.
This isn't about a father-daughter it's about a horse and an assassin working for the underground and they fall in love
@@johnsnell The Famous Mr. Ed and his bestial pal
I hope doctor X doesn't comment that would be a little scary
He still has got it , He is and will always be Queensryche front man
Except he isn't.He was fired.
Im from Seattle you don't have to tell me about Queensryche , peace out
@@betornween and now they are just a cover band.
@@Outlaw4640 Both are now.
You’re either tone deaf or delusional
Geoff Tate, the greatest male vocalist I've ever heard, and that's saying a LOT. I've seen uncountable rock and metal concerts, I have no idea how many bands live in my time, and their Mindcrime tour, opening for Metallica, still stands as the single most incredible sounding show I've ever been to. His voice was flawless throughout, and so was the rest of the band. Metallica is my favorite band, and I didn't want them to come on stage. I would have been ecstatic if Queensryche had gone on for another hour instead.
Tate kills it in this video, he obviously still has what it takes to do the songs from. the '80s. Emily, not so much.
I got waves of chills and I wasn't even there. Listen to this crowd reaction. Still one of my favorite albums of all time.
He has the perfect voice as always Love it!!!
Amazing.. Geoff as always, Emily is new to me. Both.....amazing. He still has it.
What a legend, they don't come along all the time but thank god we were blessed with Geoff Tate
Geoff, as always, and Emily gave a wonderful performance.
Geoff sounds amazing.
Geoff Tate is still the singer with the most versatile voices in the world for a reason. This is why! PHENOMINAL! Hehehe
The guy that replaced Geoff Tate is good but he is not Geoff. This guy will always be the voice of Queensryche!!
MrknuckleHD I think that the new guy in QR isn’t a replacement but another chapter in the QR story, Geoff has always been the voice of QR but he stood down, now there’s new blood in the band and to be honest it’s good, the new album The Verdict is bloody awsome, I don’t think Geoff would have pulled it off, Todd’s the man now👍
Yes it is certainly is a new chapter . The infamy of a band is usually because of the front man. Not many bands keep there fame when the front man is gone. Hopefully they remain successful in keeping that uniqueness and sound of of Queenrsyche
Really? The Verdict kills man.
Maybe so, but let's put things in perspective. This sucks balls realistically. Who's the the lovely young lady?
Hector Gonzalez his daughter
I got shivers down my spine listening to both of them sing and the band brings the power of Queensryche with such an influential song and album for music lovers and musicians. He hasn't lost any chops even years later. I feel like I'm 16 again cranking up the volume and loving it!
I just seen this in cinncinati ohio and i have to say it was a blast , geoff tate you will allways forever be in my mind ,nice job emily , thanks
Cool seeing his daughter out there with him. Good for them.
Ha. I just made the same comment!
She's got her Daddy's pipes for sure. I love how later in the song Geoff stood back and overcome with fatherly pride. He should have. Chris DeGarmo's daughter is also an amazing singer and I'm so glad their progeny especially their daughters carry on. Queensryche was one of the few bands in the 80s that stood for women instead of degenerating them as sex toys.
The difference between Geoff and his replacement is that Geoff makes it look and sound effortless.
Todd is great but he sounds very forced at times. Especially when the octaves get demanding.
This is my favorite Queensryche song
What a proud Dad ,I'd be bursting at the seams to have my baby girl on stage with me, Awesome ,Geoff hasn't lost a thing maybe even better than in the 80s Emily is awesome stood right next to her legendary father and gave a flawless performance with absolutely no electronic mask to hide behind .Im very impressed,.Mr. Tate is hands down the best Rock Vocalist of our time.
This song always brings me to tears because it's so beautiful.
what a moment. Father and daughter share the stage. I've seen Queensryche 4-5 times between 1988 and 1999. I would have loved to witness such a moment for Geoff.
I would love for the original members to get back together and TOUR!
Me too, but only WITH De Garmo.
Never happen sadly
@@MortalHuman I think he is Immortal and you are just a Mortal.
The Queensryche cover band don't deserve another chance with Geoff. Geoff is a God.
@@shashasha1837 Geoff ruined Queensryche.
I saw the original Mindcrime Tour in late 1988, the concert was mind-blowing with it's theatrics,3 giant screens depicting scenes from the movie that was insinc with the live music,it was "In-the- Round" also which made it perfect- the whole stadium was dark and everyone had the perfect seat because the whole stage that was in the center was moving so we all could get to see them facing our way unlike most venue set-ups!
Yep one of the greatest shows all time
Also on the 88 operation mine tour when they opened up Metallica and justice for all the lady that sang the part of Mary was phenomenal give you chills down your spine when she appeared onstage and she was glowing in the light remember like it was yesterday
@@davino108 Yep one that makes a lasting impression on us!
Geoof and Emily .i praise you for this. Thank you. it is so beautiful ...the only peace u ever known..i close my eyes
Wow... This is a darned good performance.
I met Emily at FTC in Fairfield CT a few years ago and can’t say enough positive things about her!! She is so down to earth, friendly and delightful to speak with!!
awesome show by the band and father and daughter sharing the stage together.
pure magic and talent!
I first heard this on CD with really good headphones. Breathtaking. Then when I saw it live and Geoff plays the main character, it brought another dimension to the story for me. Powerful performance
Geoff,Rob,Ronnie
The three vocal kings 👑👑👑👑👑👑👑👑
Throw in Bruce and make it a foursome!
And Bruce, but you still nailed it.
Michael Kiske too
Adam Jensen one of Helloweens singers he's unbeatable
Add Mike Patton to the list.
Wore the grooves out on this vinyl when it came out. Mindcrime is in my top 3 all time...
Mind crime album is one big story, Great fucking album! Man can he SING!
The drummer, Bassist, and stage right guitarist are all from Emily's band "Till Death do us part". which opened these shows.
It's her boyfriend (guitarist on right side). I saw them together @ Lisbon concert ;)
That's awesome, I can't say enough about this
Saw them back before it all fell apart at House of Blues Anaheim, great show! love the way Geoff just checks out when he's in the zone.
I like this...I Love This!
Put this singer in that other band called
Queensryche..and go get a guitar player by the name of Chris Degarmo..it may make a pretty good band,
Maybe
45 pewterpirate My thoughts exactly
Geoff is an amazing singer, songwriter, performer. Queensryche will never be the same. It’s a shame that the other guys didn’t fully understand him. I realize that they thought he was dominating the band in some ways, but to hear them complain about slowly fading over time by following Geoff’s lead was really sad. Did they not notice that just about every other metal/hard rock band from the 80s slowly faded during the same period? Did they not notice that the bands that would not play grunge during the 90s were marginalized, especially bands from Seattle who would NOT play grunge? In 1989 the entire music industry took a gigantic shit. Queensryche was extremely lucky to have done so well with Empire in that environment. But then, immediately following the Empire tour, grunge took over, and metal/hard rock have still never been quite the same. I LOVE all of the albums that followed Empire, with the exception of American Soldier and the last one before the break up. To hear Jackson and Milton complain about those albums was really disheartening. For them to criticize Geoff for doing the Cabaret tour was truly amazing, since that was one of the most brilliant things Queensryche ever did. FABULOUS show. I saw Geoff as “Queensryche” after the break up. The band was full of highly experienced professionals, and it was still not very good. Acceptable, but NOT Queensryche. There must be a way for these guys to kiss and make up and start making music together again. Maybe if Chris comes back, he can provide the glue and get these guys to pull their heads out of their asses. People are STARVED for good music today. All of the competition is retiring or dying. The younger bands mostly suck. Queensryche is sitting on a massive opportunity right now, but they are squandering it. Such a shame. Such a waste.
Abso-f*cking-lutely... probably my favorite band ever if somebody pinned me down on it (I'm talking the original lineup). I bailed after "Promised Land" though. With "Operation Mindcrime" the best concept LP I've ever heard, and after an agonizingly long period of time, I was just absolutely shot down when I listened to "Mindcrime II." To me, I found it horrible. If I was some kind of "Emo," I would've probably been suicidal (no trivial insult meant to those that are... just a figure of speech because that's the first thing that popped into my dumbass head. Apologies). And just like GnR and others, ego plus stubbornness spelled the demise of this great band. It's sad, and we fans are worse off because of it. If the opportunity arose, I'd beat some sense into Tate...idiot... he's friggin blind to what was standing right in front of him. Now, this new singer isn't bad (he's trying too hard to sound like Tate...he should make the music his own and do it his way). As it sits, my preconceived bias won't allow me to choke down this newest version of the band. Maybe young fans who weren't even born until after their demise, and without hearing their old stuff, could. I need to stop comparing the stuff.
DeGarmo bailed when the money started getting tighter. Hes never coming back he makes the good money and retirement working for the airlines. QueensLaRyche is just fine and have gotten back the 'magic' with Todd La Torre. The breakup has also lit a flame under Geoff and he has finally assembled a really good band and has his fans. Its a shame but now we have two good bands. Hopefully Geoff can translate this into a good album, its been awhile for him.
Agreed!!!
This is sooo AWESOME!
It is sad that ego and pride destroy so many bands but Queensryche wasn't just any band. Chris Degarmo could never be replaced and without him they were never the same. There will never be another Geoff Tate or Queensryche but separated they are just another band and singer.
One of my favorite bands and albums back in the 80's. This sounds really good still 👍
I just saw him with his band 11 days ago... Amazing concert, Rage for Order/Empire tour, I can assure you this is something special, guys... he is still the best!!! I immediately bought a ticket for the next concert nearby at the end of April!! Can't wait... And I have seen many many bands over the years! Geoff is something special indeed, even at this age!!!
Nice small Venue reminds me of when i saw them in Solano Beach, CA great show!!!
One of the best singers of all time love the band
How cool to be able to sing that with your daughter.
Proud Papa. WTG geoff! Man, I saw you in the late 80s and early 90s. What great shows.
This looked awesome!
WHAT A GOOD ALBUM. NEVER GETS OLD. BEEN WITH THE RYCHE FROM THE BEGINNING LOVING THEIR MUSIC. LONG LIVE THINKING MANS MUSIC !!!!
The Operation Mindcrime days ...sure miss them. GEOFF STILL ROCKS LIKE NO OTHER! sure anticipated a movie with this album.
F'n epic, as always! Wtg young man with your young girl :)
Not just one of my favorites from Mindcrime, but also one of the most informative songs to the overall story. Epic!
Towards the END of the song Emily gets louder, BUT, in the beginning she's a bit quieter, or not loud enough, she still sounds great, Geoff must be proud.
The original female was a soprano. Tate's daughter is an alto. Doesn't have the high voice.
I saw them at the Empire tour in Baltimore Arena...Fucking amazing !!!
Fan since '84...what jumps out most is no Scott Rock
Word!
I saw them a few weeks ago at the Canyon Club in Agoura and unfortunately, Emily's mic was out and it looked like she was frustrated. I'm glad I could watch the way it should have been on UA-cam!
You were lucky her mic was out. I bet that made the performance better.
Mortal idiot
That was a good thing...
I want to brew a beer and call it Hoperation: Mindcrime.

Surprisingly really well done!
It must be awesome for members of the Geoff Tate Band to play a Queensryche song!
Saw it 30 years ago and in June with this line up. I hope he sticks with it. This current touring group is a great lineup for him...
I saw this song performed with Queensryche's original line up while Pamela was projected on a giant screen. It was amazing.
AMAZING light show!
There could be almost no lights or steady or audio changing lights it still doesn't matter. The show doesn't happen without the P.A. system and operators. It's similar to shining flashlights in a field to track fireflies. Nobody cares. The group still plays without lights. Lights are like sprinkles on a cupcake. You can still enjoy the cupcake W/O the sprinkles. However, you can't eat the cupcake (in it's cupcake form) W/O them being baked in the form of a cupcake. Lighting for a show is useless. Next time anyone tries a performance have an AMAZING light show and CRAP audio. See what happens. Refunds ALL around. :-)
That kicked ass!!!
Ooohhhh man he's still got it🥰🥰🥰🥰
Badass! Good for them.🙋
Geoff is back. He sounds so good now. And he still sounds this good. He didn't wash out like Vince or Don or Stephen
He has a golden voice. By far one of their best albums!!!
OMG - when I first heard that he was doing this with his daughter singing Mary's part I thought... "wow, that's a bit...creepy..." given the relationship between Nicky and Mary in the story. But then I watch this and I'm like "Ok, nope...not in the least." You can tell their energy is completely non creepy. But yet it also still totally works. Wow!
Yup! He sounds great 🔥
YES! I was there!!!!!!
wow what's not to love... Beautiful
Geoff Tate... before...today....and forever
I saw Geoff Tate's Operation Mindcrime at the Brudenell Social Club in Leeds on Monday 3rd Dec 2018 and they were phenomenal, incredible and powerful. I think Geoff's singing technique may even have been enhanced from years of practice. His voice seared through the venue, pinning you to the back wall and making the hairs stand up on your neck
ddshalom76 um no. He sounded like Mickey Mouse.
Regardless Operation Mindcrime will go down as the best rock metal concept album of our generation and even so the last 3 decades!!!
This io amazing
he can still sing his butt off..
mikieson nah. Cant sing his range anymore. Sounds like Mickey Mouse when he tries.
@@malikaihoon7337 u go and do it better dickhead...

He’s as amazing as ever… he’s incredible on a vocal level.. he’s always been dramatic…

Whats missing is Chris degarmo!!! The soul of queensryche......
Badass. Saw this tour in Philadelphia. They warmed up for Metallica on And Justice For All. Both bands kicked ass...Tate was in his prime.
John Munder Saw That tour in Dallas. One of my top 10 shows. It’s rare that I want to see both the opening act and the headliner.
I saw that tour in New Jersey. It was one of my favorites back then. I saw Queesnsryche a few weeks ago in Atlantic City and they were pretty good...In two weeks, I'll be seeing Geoff :)
John Munder...I seen that tour also... incredible!!! First time I ever heard of Queensrych. I've been a fan ever since.
@@Defrezus I was at that one, too!
And I'm just happy I'm alive to get to see a video of Jeff Tate and Ronnie James Dio perform live on the stage amazing
I don't understand the thumbs down...this was awesome!!
As a singer who is 58 years old I too went through my share of voice issues. I had hemmorhagic Polyps removed from my vocal chords in 2011. I though my singing career was over. I believe Geoff went through something similar a few years ago. He flat out lost it. Thank God he worked hard and got his voice back in shape. I can't tell you what he did but it worked for the most part. There has been several singers that I always idolized and tried my best to get to their level. You can probably name most of them, Halford, Tate, Dio, Coverdale. Tate was at the top of my list, He made me a Much better singer. He was a Natural singer. Singing is different than any other instrument. You are Born to be a singer, whereas you can be taught Guitar, Bass, Keyboards, But you cannot teach someone with no aptitude to sing. I used to teach and believe me I tried my best to help non singers be acceptably good singers. It simply doesn't work. Sorry for being so long winded, hard to say what I said without an explanation. I hope I said everything in a clear way.
Great post...ty...\m/
Tate seems really recovering his voice but his daughter ...damn she is weak for this.glad to hear tate back again.his voice was lighfull
Still cant beat a live show from the originator Tate!
Front row for that show!!!
The problem is that Pamela has such a unique voice...it's like trying to replace Clare Torry on "The Great Gig In The Sky". That's the " voice' you want to hear....

Can't pull off Pamela
The voice or passion
Yup. Pamela is a rock goddess. No replacing her!
Ahhhh Yes, The Great Gig in the Sky, now THAT is my favorite Pink Floyd song, can listen to that song for hours, and I have.

I can say, as a drummer, that you are 100% correct.
(I can already read comments that will say that every drummer has a sound of his own,...... but they who comment this probably never tried to emulate Rocketfield on the drums)
