    I’m currently a CNA at a hospital in the med tele unit. I’m getting burnt out I’m going to apply to MA school next month. Seems less stressful then 18 patients everyday lol.

    • @trulytamera
      @trulytamera  2 роки тому +5

      You will definitely have more than 18 patients as a medical assistant depending on where you work. I’ve worked at clinics where we’ve seen at least 90 a day. You’re usually the doctors right hand as a MA so you are on your feet the entire shift doing everything for everyone and it can be stressful at times. However, it can be really fun and rewarding. I think no matter what, working at a hospital is stressful. You should definitely go for MA school too 💕

    WHAT IS IT LIKE TO WORK WITH A DOCTOR OFFICE SETTING?
    HOW IS YOUR RELATIONSHIP AMONG THE STAFF THAT YOU WORK WITH?
    WHAT IS THE LEAST FAVORITE PART OF YOUR JOB?
    WHAT WORDS OF WISDOM WOULD YOU OFFER SOMEONE (me) LOOKING TO PURSUE A CAREER IN THIS FIELD?

      There is an awsome ebook online that details so much, before and after school, certification, job tips, externships, dealing with staff and it has bounses included. Im currently a student and this book has been a God sent! Im ready to get out there and crush now I know what to expect. the book is on my channel so people can access it, the writer is not on youtube and I just want to help spread the work, good luck! it also teaches you how to learn about YOU and what you want out of a career that was the best part for me, and the free guided journal!

      Hey girl! Happy to have you here ❤️
      I’m not sure how they are doing things these days with Covid. However, I will say to always ask questions and be hands on. No question is a stupid question. If you’re not sure of something always ask. If they are giving you the chance to be hands on, as in drawing blood, taking vitals… do it! If they aren’t, ask them to allow you. That’s the only way you’re really going to learn. Will you be doing externship at a primary care clinic?

    • @ericacampbell387
      @ericacampbell387 2 роки тому

      @@trulytamera No my externship is at a urology office. I’m definitely doing a lot of hands on and asking to do more stuff. Just nervous when I get a job because urology is very specialized and I don’t do a lot of the things like vitals and such like you would do at a primary clinic.

    • @trulytamera
      @trulytamera  2 роки тому +4

      Congrats on starting school! If you really pay attention to your instructor, ask questions, take notes, ask more questions, and participate it won’t be hard. Also if you are going in person, make friends with your classmates so that you have people to “practice” on as far as injections, vitals, blood draws.. things like that.

    • @trulytamera
      @trulytamera  2 роки тому +1

      @@lamayaashanti6913 I think that depends on what state you are in. I am able to pay all of my bills with my income and live comfortably. After you’ve had about 6 months of experience you have a better chance of getting hired where you’re making decent money. This is my experience. You should definitely research the pay in your area. Get on indeed as if you’re looking for a job and search medical Assistant. You can get an idea of the pay that way.

      @@lamayaashanti6913 40hrs. Most MAs work at a doctors office or clinic. 8hr shifts. Some Urgent Care clinics have 10hr shifts. Right now I work 12hr shifts but that’s not as typical for MAs. With that being said some places will let you do overtime. Again, this can be different depending on your state. I’m in Texas.
