I miss that era, the time that I'm still a teen, roy mid range, tmac is still dunking, vc still dropping 20+, nash feeding marion and amare with fancy pass, yao's up and under, manu sidestep, duncan bankshots, parkers floater, monta ellis acrobatic layups, melo's unlimited jab step, kobe's fadeaway, gasols post shots, deron williams unstoppable drive, captain kirks leadership, ben gordons shot streaks, elton brands power, mike dunleavy don't leave me.... and many more!
Brandon Roy was the reason I started playing basketball and when he came into the is when I stopped just kinda watching basketball to really caring about it and loving it
If Roy stayed healthy and had a full career he would've been one of the best to ever do it probably hall of fame honestly. He hadn't even reached his peak yet and in 2010 Kobe said he was the hardest player to guard in the west and that "Roy has no weaknesses in his game."
People dont remember how sick that team truly was supposed to be. BRoy before his injuries was unstoppable, they had a young Lamarcus and drafted Greg Oden. Without injuries that was a dynasty in the making. Even more what if they drafted KD instead of Oden. Then you talking B Roy, KD and Lamarcus..... One of the major NBA what ifs
That Blazers starting five of Andre Miller, Brandon Roy, Nicolas Batum, LaMarcus Aldridge and Greg Oden would've been special if Oden and Roy had stayed healthy. Bad luck. They fit perfectly together.
Penny Hardaway & Brandon Roy are at the top of "what if's" in my lifetime! B-Roy was so fun to watch man, I used to try and mold my game after his, loved how he still used the midrange game despite being almost extinct (now-then) lol. But yeah he was way ahead of his time.
He was my favorite player ever. He got drafted on my birthday. When he tore his acl I remember being legitimately depressed for months. All these years later and I’m still not okay with it. Still a huge fan. Him dame and Clyde are the three best blazers ever.
The fact that B-Roy was the first NBA player I ever met and I was just a kid, is a memory I’ll hold onto forever. I remember he was signing autographs at a sports store and it was the worst thing for them to tell us he was done signing autographs in 5 mins because I just ran up to his table to make sure I got my autographed picture and I told him his kid was cute as he just had a baby boy. I then gave the signed picture to my brother as my brother was too shy to run up to the table but he’s the reason I know who Brandon Roy is. This dude Brandon Roy holds a lot of my first memories as a little girl getting into basketball. I remember having a Kobe fan moment when Dame was coming in and I automatically didn’t like him cause it felt like they were trying to replace Brandon Roy but me not liking Dame didn’t last long at all. Matter of fact my very first photoshoot was for Dame 3’s, and meeting Dame, him telling me I do look like Ayesha Curry lol also holds another place in my heart. I miss the memories going to a Blazer game and being excited for B-Roy, I hope he watches Dame and is proud of how Dame picked up our team after he left and Dame is making a legacy for himself.
Brandoy Roy the biggest what if career imo. The guy's smooth, incredibly high IQ, strong and big for his position as a PG.. a true matchup nightmare. Could easily have been one of the greats today had not been for the injuries
Bro watching him play brings back so many memories I was the b Roy fan they were so underrated on 2k9 everbody would pick the Celtics and lakers that year and I run thru em , they went 54-28 that year and had deep team, broy, LMA,oden, batum, outlaw,Rudy Fernandez, Frye, Steve Blake Absolutely one of my top 3 favorite teams of all time
If his career continued. We wont be talking about Lebron, Harden or Curry. This dude is a freak of nature back then even Kobe admitted he is ahead of his time. He attacks like hell and number 1 in 2nd chance scoring insane.
His jump shot was smooth as hell. Reminded me of Allan Houston, but just a bit more smoother in the paint. Probably the most underrated players, and showed up at the end of games. If the Blazers were close, he could make the clutch shots to win the game. He would have been a superstar, and loved that he played in the PNW straight after going to UW. Being a Washingtonian, I was able to grow up watching Blazers games. I adopted the Blazers once the Sonics left. He was an unselfish player, and had a calm about him that is unseen by a lot of players today. Ice in his veins, and silky smooth low post game. bRoy!
Reggie miller with great call at the end " Like Brandon roy your never out of it comes to the ball and elavates gets his legs behind him and follows thru" wow.
I didn’t know it was this long? On December 10, 2011, Roy announced his retirement from basketball due to a degenerative knee condition, though he returned in 2012 to play five games for the Timberwolves. Seattle, Washington, U.S. As player: 3× NBA All-Star (2008-2010)
If Brandon Roy and Greg Oden never got injured we would get this starting lineup: PG: Damian Lillard SG: Brandon Roy SF: Nicolas Batum PF: Lamarcus Aldridge C: Greg Oden That lineup would get us a championship or 2 for sure
Was sick with emotions when he had to hang it up. Miss this dude and can’t help but wonder what he would have accomplished had his knees not failed him.
all textbook and fundamentals..the most slept on type of player in the nba..ima kobe fan and loved his flashiness but i always respected guys like kawai and b.roy they play hard and get the W
Brandon Roy was a BEAST in his prime one of the most underrated players of all time

What could have been...
Him and sabonis were the biggest stars that could of been in blazer history
For surrrrrrrrrre he was, very unfortunate early close of his basketball career he could have been a hall of famer easy

I’m the same way bro….In basketball Conversations I always bring him up an no one ever disagrees that he has one of the sickest games ever
@@dutchdolo definitely man, it’s on us to keep the great ones alive. Injuries suck.
Silky smooth, no rush. Had an old man game could play above or below the rim. Hate injuries took him away from the game so early. He was a problem

I was just thinking bout this very comment
We never got to see oden perform well so he couldve earned that 1 draft spot
@@eetlelefe22 Oden was a legit #1 they had him as the next Bill Russell. It's actually criminal the NBA didn't get to see his potential.

Kinda a weird history of bad luck with the blazers and injuries to promising players going all the way back to bill Walton with foot
If they drafted DURANT. It could have been Miller, Roy, Durant, Aldridge, Anybody lol.
@@princeluke6340 they also could've had mj as well. Blazers is the most unusual team I've ever seen in the NBA lol.

Roy is LEGENDARY! Kobe couldn't even keep up with this dude. He was a monster. Roy is one of the illest players in the NBA.

Yeah. You can tell Kobe borrowed his playing style. Especially when he changed to #24

Imagine if Rose and Roy both stayed healthy long term
Man, don’t do my heart like this.

Hey Trail Blazers page, I wanna see a full game tv replay on NW sports of that Brandon Roy 52 point game against the Suns. Is that doable?
Its on channel page like old sabonis
The guard version of the Big Fundamentals
He was the Tim Duncan of Shooting Guards Bro! I always said the same thing
TMac & Ron Artest got all of that buzzer beater🤣
sat both of them down hahaha
Brandon Roy was ahead of his time
Brandon "The Natural" Roy was such a beast man. He was really all about just getting buckets. Didn't need to do anything flashy. A walking bucket.
wait this was legit just like 5 games. it's a shame they didn't play portland in more national games. B Roy was something else.
Lliard, Roy, Wallace, Aldridge and oden in starting line up man this is a championship contender if they played man 😭😭😭😭
He’s jumper was pure. All net. It didn’t even touch the rim when it was good.
I want to see him play with Lillard😭
