the nova prospekt shotgunner has always had the blue armor, the red uniform you're talking about is the regular shotgunner, not the nova prospekt variant
although that regular shotgunner skin was taken away from you for a good portion of the game as the only soldiers you would see were nova prospekt guards and a few regular overwatch soldier corpses
Also I never noticed the shield scanners were in hl2! That’s awesome and I must’ve missed them through all my play throughs 😅 thank you to all that pointed it out
That's okay! They barely show up, don't worry.
They show up in the uprising section and in the EP1 train station but that’s about it. They basically replace city scanners in the last half of HL2
they also appear in highway 17 where rollermines are first introduced i think

@@jidion699 im pretty sure shield scanners are the combines scout units outside of citadels that prob are lookout for rebel bases
I believe the thing you call "VJ Slow down" is caused by the AI not instantly being told to move to you after reaching you so it just stops when it reaches you and waits for a command to move to you again for a brief moment then moves again. Thats what I believe is going on and is fixable.

Hey just so you know, the Scanner Synth wasn't cut from Half Life 2! It was just cut from Garry's Mod it appeared in the Follow Freeman chapter in Half Life 2 and also in Half Life 2: Episode 1! Just informing you for the future.
actually, it's the shield scanner which is in Gmod, but this one actually has the functionality to drop the hoppers like in hl2.
@@AngryTrafficCone With all due respect, no because the Shield Scanner is a separate Combine Synth to the Scanner Synth, it is a slightly more armored version of the City Scanner, used in other cities like City 8, and 14. I see how you could get them mixed up as they use the same model, just different textures.

The reason they keep backing off is cuz they are based on F.E.A.R ai.
They run when they are alone
Scanners and claw scanners actually have some functionality other than ramming and blinding in the SNPC pack, if a scanner takes a photo of you then all the combine on the map will be alerted of you
Honestly the nova prospekt soldiers are really underrated, most of the people i have asked who have played it dont even remember seeing a different variant aside from the elite and shotgunner
heya. the reason why some of the npcs dont have physics is most likely a limitation within vj base or that its extremely hard.
and npcs in that pack can gib

Not a limitation, just whoever made these didn't attempt to code it
The best part about this mod is you can ally yourself with these Combine! Like I've done, so now I kind of never want to fight them again and fight everything BUT the combine.
5:41 the claw scanner Is in the game already, It just don't throw the mine.
Plus the mine-throwing one is already in gmod.

@Josue I think you need some research or play the game , Shield Scanners or claw Scanner can carry and throw hopper mines.
*Note: You will see it in one of the levels during City 17 Street War, after Nova Prospekt and spark an Uprising.*

Okay, so I want to make a Combine NPC that is unique without VJ Base. Ex: Custom Voice, Deploys Manhacks (For the Sergeant Variant), and Pressures the enemy from far away distances. Any advice?
It would probably be quite difficult to make without vj base

the nova prospekt shotgunner has the same armor but the combine solider shotgunner has the red armor
The shield scanner/flying boi that shoots hoppers out of his ass is still in the game at the sniper part where you save barney

Sorry if this is a joke but yes some of these guys did but the OTA soldiers as everyone knows is after but I wonder if we ever get a super soldier synth that looks like a hairy skin coloured bug
I really recommend that you look at this mod again, a whole bunch of new content was and probabably still is getting added.
The Scanner Synth is in HL2: Episode 1 from my recollection.
So I could be wrong, but I'm pretty sure the RPG not being shot down by the helicopter thing, is because it's the wrong RPG I guess.. I did a test with some of the TFA m mod stuff, and switch between the original and the TFA version and it would shoot down the original rockets but not the TFA one, which makes me think that there's something about the rocket launcher that needs to be added when people do rocket launchers, I just don't know if it's on the NPC side or on the weapon side.
would love if this mod had dropships that dropped normal combine soldiers

A default combine soldier literally comes flying out of the window apon death.
It is spawned after the sniper is killed. The sniper itself does not have a model. It is just a laser.
@@tazamane9705 Wrong,he has a model but he doesn't have a weapon so it looks like he is holding an invisible gun,so the laser is just coming out of him.

It’s not only the nova prospect and PCs that can Carrie combine Territs elite, snipers, and combines soldiers
The red shotguner is still a thing he was just cut from half life alex and then in half life 2 the made red uniforms due because when alex destroyed the big aircraft dr.breen got mad so he tuned them into the Overwatch Assault shotguner
This got a pretty big update. Big enough for a potential mini showcase just for the update because it is awesome what was added.
Scanner synth wasnt taken out of hl2 actaully! you can see it in anticitzen one and the citadel chapters

Nova prospekt shotgunners never had red armor like standard shotgunner red armor

oh yeah also if u fight a crab synth use grenades on him if he gets below wich is his weak spot u can do alot of damage

You can just kill the crab synth with the ar2 second blast or they might be stronger than the z base they have all that stuff.
All ground soldier npcs apart from the elite metrocop and regular metrocop will put down turrets, not just the nova prospekt soldier
I don't believe the Elite is the only one with an AR2 right? I think the other ones just have a chance to spawn with an SMG as well as an AR2, I could be wrong though.
Pretty sure in the last section of follow freeman for some reason theres one elite with a smg

as what i remenber the scanner synth is in the main game fyi but they only had 1 hopper
i like this addon cuz it makes the combine look actually threatening, like in the original game they just looked like some dumbasses with cool guns but here they acutally look like a transhuman army with advanced technology

They should make it so the Trans human soldier's can run and gun while repositioning but have reduced accuracy while doing so to balance it out

Out of all Combine units, cut and uncut, which is your favorite? Mine is between Hunters, Striders, and Super Synths.
Mine would be either the combine soldier, dropship or the strider. But im now wondering what super synths are?
