Eh, that's why they are big. Being ethical is costs more. I mean who actually thinks companies can do a right thing in face of profits. Sometimes they do the right thing, but it's almost always because because in that situation it's more profitable move. Either to get good pr, market changing or being forced to do so and then spinning it as them being saints.
Nestle is so dominant here in Malaysia. Milo and Nescafe drink is available in 95% restaurant around the country. Maggi is default name for every instant noodle.
Wow, interesting to see origin of the company was based on trying to solve a moral problem [infant mortality]. Think there is a great lesson to be had there!

The vision of the founder of the company put Nestlé into that business and demands of capitalism to maximize profits combined with the human propensity for moral flexibility led to the death of third world children...

From businesspundit.com: In 2000, Nestlé paid over $14.5 million into a fund to try to deal with claims of slave labor suffered at their hands from Holocaust survivors and Jewish organizations. The firm has admitted that it acquired a company in 1947 that had used forced labor during the war and has also stated that “[It] is either certain or it may be assumed that some corporations of the Nestlé Group that were active in countries controlled by the National Socialist (Nazi) regime employed forced laborers.” Nestlé helped with the financing of a Nazi party in Switzerland in 1939 and ended up winning a lucrative contract, supplying the entire chocolate needs of the German army during World War II. From Vice News: With about 0.5 percent of the world's population, Canada has a disproportionate share of global water supply with seven percent of the globe's renewable water and roughly half of the world's lakes. Groundwater is just one of the many water sources in Canada, but the lack of federal and provincial regulation with regards to groundwater extraction has made it very easy for big companies like Nestle to swoop in and monopolize groundwater resources. Nestle Waters has two plants in Canada-one in Hope, BC, the other in Aberfoyle, near the city of Guelph, Ontario. There have been ongoing water disputes between the community and Nestle in both those regions.

Nestlé has a very crappy past. At the same time these companies are all the same in the commodity sector that have vast international influence and truly a global companies. Be it the Dutch Unilever or American Mondelez International.
After the harm that Nestle has caused to Canadians after their decision to pull Stouffer's, Lean Cuisine, and Delissio (known as Di Giorno) products out of Canada but no other country, the food giant is truly evil.

Amazing nano-documentary brah!
I like your video very much !!
Not only China has food safety issues.
Every industry seems to always have average of 5-8 companies that control almost everything
you didnt mention how they buy aquifers in 3rd world nations for cheap prices then bottle to water and sell it way priced up. Making water cost the people alpt of money amd having no other water supply. Nestle is fucked up
Nestle has existed long enough to see it change from a benefit to society (establishing a company to solve infant mortality) to a detriment ("The other view says that water is a foodstuff like any other, and like any other foodstuff it should have a market value." - Peter Brabeck-Letmathe 2005 Acting CEO of Nestle)
Waooh...
This is a nice piece, an eye opener.
