Kudos to you doing it on an analogue bike, I've done it a couple of times on my emtb and its a solid work out. The little creek area you pointed out is great to stop and enjoy the serenity
@@jelbuilderfilmsfrom a wikiloc trail. Sorry couldn't copy the link. "This leads to the old Mt Arum Mine from 1930's. Enter if you dare!! Lots of micro bats!! Track continues up to Mt Arum, passing an old cement trough, possibly for livestock then. There is a Cairn at top of Mt Arum, with a Geocache container in the loose rocks. Continue trail to meet Duck Creek Rd, following till turn off to meet the flat Acuracia Track of Enoggera Resovoir, taking you back to the start, passing the swimming area for a good swim here after a great hike. Then back to carpark."
@@adventureswithgrunt Actually, I remember that guy telling me he followed my route to the northern tunnel pipeline... And yes, I did read about this description of the mine around there. Geez, I totally forgot lol.
Hey John, That is a lovely part of Brisy ang a great Vid. One day hit me up and we can pan some gold up there (practice only as prospecting would be unlawful), It's fun, I have all the gear. After a big rain is a good time. T-Rocks
Yeah, sometimes we catch em and fry them up, but they are quite rubbery to eat. Gotta marinate them for quite some time to tenderise the flesh, which makes them a more enjoyable meal...and they have a surprisingly good amount of meat on them!! Catching them can sometimes be tough though, as they put up a good fight and are quite strong, and have long sharp claws... But good fun all in all for a great fry up!
If I do, I'll link it into the description and its usually on my Wikilocs Channel at www.wikiloc.com/wikiloc/user.do?id=4590301. If its not there, it just means I haven't taken the time to do a Wikiloc entry yet.
Know that place well and those hills are tough.

It's a workout and a half, that's for sure. Yeah, loved that creek crossing 👌
I've really enjoyed this three part series. Must do some of this when I next come up to Brisbane.
Glad you enjoyed it... Always good fun exploring new areas 🙌
A good loop that TRAQ use for a trail race coming up on April 28th (if you want to trail run it?). That hill at the back is a good one.
Hmm, thanks, I'll have a look. I see a small 172m high mountain at the back called Mt Arum. You haven't been up that by any chance?
@@jelbuilderfilms no I haven't been up there. It looks like a high point on of one trails. I wouldn't expect it to be anything special.

@adventureswithgrunt wow... Thanks for that info!! That mine info now has me planning for it👍👍

Why is prospecting unlawful? What's wrong with shovelling a pan around in a creek... I haven't looked up any legislation on that yet 🤔

Nice Country Ride, Those Lizards Are Big. Do You Eat Them? They Do In Indonesia.
We used to have them on Toast, but their legs kept hanging over the edge of the Bread...😁😁
Armadillo burger anyone ??

I really like you Google map overview of the country and rides. This is a great resource for other riders wanting to explore.
Thanks, I try to make it helpful to visualise it better. Thanks for checking it out. :)
One of my fave pack training hikes. You should try Lake Manchester circuit on your MTB, it’s Enoggera Circuit on steroids 💪🏼
Yeah, I remember Lake M when I did the 6hr Adventure Race there... Trail Running, Biking, and Kayaking. It's hard yakka, for sure 💪

Not wrong, Steve. Too big 😅

Having never done it. You went in a secret way? I'm assuming it's legal to ride it?🤔
The secret creek way I went is fine, it just feels dodgy... But goes up into areas which are perfectly accessible from Payne Rd.
