Provision the album is a lost masterpiece, I strongly suggest a re-visit. Its got everything that C&P had, including a Miles Davis solo on this perfect pop record!
Green seems very anxious in this interview. I can relate as I also suffer from panic and anxiety very much like green did but the pressures of fame and constant interviews really pushed him over the edge in the late 80s and he then took a big break and lived in mine and his home country, Usk in Wales through the 90s. I have so much respect for this man and what he went through!
Yep, I was no fan of 80's music, even though I was in my 20's. (more late 60's/70's fan) But his voice and ability to infuse fragility and sensuality into that early tecno sound impressed me.He was an original and beautiful voice. I saw him appear with others at the Dome in Brighton a few years back, in an evening celebrating the great Sandy Denny. I could tell that he was a little anxious from the way he held himself, slightly wringing his hands. I was impressed that he put himself out there. Good for him. It takes guts. I hope all is going well for you at the moment. Wales is so beautiful!!
As a fellow Depresion/ Anxiety/panic attack sufferer and performer, I really feel for Green and his story. Such a fan as a youngster. Only recently realised everything he went through. Would love to meet him and give him a big hug and also go back in time to congratulate younger Clare for such brilliant taste.
I read that Green Gartside really disliked the constant round of interviews at the height of their fame. Gary Davies is a real music enthusiast as I understand it. Used to listen to his show in Virgin Radio ( I think) thirty years ago after he left Radio One.
Gary was ok i remember, only one rsadio 1 dj blotted his copy book by cheating bob harris..i think out of real money for a record collwction..bit nice but the person reckoned himself too much,.not a muso i dont think.. i was semi pro for 35 years until 2014..our bassman died and i almost followed him..yes glsd to still be here and seeing/hearing these videos..part of my life now..thanks for putting it up..keep music live........
Interesting, ta...just reading top comment he didbt like talking when at his height..it was hid sound i liked but then...if radio suits him now...good..he has knowledge..thanks for the reply..he was another one off...as i left my donning room yesterday nick kershaw ca,e on..ANOTHER one off...not one hut but who else sounded like him...limahl..distinctive voices..i was semi pro band foe 35 years 80`s to 2014 illness and a death..but music is still my life/net/tv so yes//love hearing the oldies..you tube a god send..

He's on Radio Two at the moment, playing 80s hits.
I remember ooh Gary used to play that alot in 1988.
Green, the sound of the 80's and then some!

Is it real or is it memoex..if you remenber that well..studio sound BUT I loved it..2-3 records ar the time..bought the albums/cds..love thst sound..
I've always wondered why Miles Davis decided to participate in the recording of this song. It's really a good song, but still...
He was a massive fan of Scritti. Green talks about it in interviews
Great track, my favourite is coarse pork and mushroom 😅
