Your tools look like you got them from the dumpster at Harbor Freight but the tip on using the spare to loosen the tire is a gem!

You could have used WD-40 to help you loosen the butterfly nut and someone asked if a floor jack can be used, the answer is NO! Bottle jack are more safe and secure. Be sure to find out the the weight of the RV, They are very heavy ( one ton = 2000 lbs) and should have Heavy Duty Jack stands for extra support. If you don't know what you are doing you can get seriously injured or killed. and both sides of the RV should be lifted to avoid twisting the frame structure and cracks! Good luck!!!

Great video thanks. Would you know the Jack point for the front of that vehicle? I have the same one but it has a Quigley 4x4 conversion.

A little secret for non-RV'ers, most mobile homes, Class A's and Class C's such as what you worked on in this video have a built in leveling jack system that can be used to jack the rig enough for a tire change. There is a control panel on board and newer rigs can use an app.

8 minutes 21 seconds mark on this video... ABSOLUTELY FUCKIN IMPRESSIVE!
I've been doing Roadside Assistance for years and I've NEVER... EVER...EVVEERR... EVER... (DID I SAY EVER ALREADY? ), SEEN THIS TECHNIQUE DONE BEFORE. EVER!
I've purposely jacked the vehicle up just a little bit higher than comfort work zone, place 2-3 lug nuts back on over the studs and then rapidly lowered the vehicle with the expectation of hopefully breaking that rust seal. Or, taking a piece of 2×4 with a C-Clamp over the tire & Rim and hitting it with a deadblow. I've even just hit it a few times without the wood and it's come off.
But you're technique was certainly an eye opener and perhaps an easier way to break that seal/rust bond. I will DEFINITELY use this method should I be subjected to changing a tire on an RV/Motor Home in the future, presenting this type of symptom. Thanks for the tip.

Thanks man I really appreciate that. I've been doing roadside assistance for about 15 years it's 15 years and after the 1st year of using the method that you spoke of and various others. I came up with this one. Thinking back to my childhood I remember Donkey Kong and swinging weight and momentum at the same time. Plus I thought the rubber is going to prevent damage. I tried it and it worked like a charm. I've been using this technique for the last fourteen years. It always works.
Thanks again for the compliment bro.

Do you carry spare wheels for RVers who don’t have one ? Also , I think I just recently learned that a regular E450 dually rim doesn’t fit and RV E450 . Due to bigger brake or something on the box truck type chassis used for RVs . True or not true ?
Thx ! Very helpful vids !

A hammer to loosen a wingnut. Nothing like smashing the threads on the stud. Try a pliers, which you'll need after you break the wing.
Another spare tire stored upside down.
Tightens the valve on the jack with a pliers. Why not use the hammer again?
Used the jack as an anvil so now it doesn't work.

CAN A FLOOR JACK BE USED?

    • @roadsideguy5902
      @roadsideguy5902  3 роки тому

Not unless it can lift atleast 4 maybe 5 ton. My 2 5 ton won't do it. I've broke a few over the years trying.

NO! Use BOTTLE JACK with HEAVY DUTY JACK SUPPORT, Find out the weight of the RV or Trailer Remember one ton = 2000 lbs
