Great information. I really love this fish, but I am having trouble getting them to eat(they're brand new to my aquarium)Tried quality flakes, live black worms, pellets, now I am going to try baby brine shrimp live and frozen. Have you found any foods that they just go gaga over?
I would not do the frozen foods or Brine as you just make more work for yourself and also make sure your water quality is good as these fish are hardy when they adapt but if the water is not well kept the first thing they will do is not eat. I would do 30% water change twice a week and then stay with that. Do not put so much food in that it pollutes the tank out of fear they are not eating. Fish can go weeks without eating. Let them adapt with small small offerings of food each day until they try it. Once they see one try they all will. Good luck and TEST THAST WATER ASAP! PS Try a good pellet that sinks and is very tiny and has Omega 3 in it!
I handled an experiment to test their jump behaviours. I foud out that in small spaces they tend to jump more. I kept 2 of them in a 20 liters tank and they try to jump. When I moved them to a 40 liters tank, they just stayed more calm and did not jump. (both tanks had 50cm of depth).
Hanna, I would not do that. These Peacock Gudgeon are very gentle and shy fish you would just be asking for a problem. Do you have one of the specie already? If you have the Gudgeon's then I would make it a species only tank with maybe a few Algae eaters of your choice. Get a black Betta and a 5 gallon tank with a heater and pump and he will live it!
@aquaticconceptsbringingwaterto 20 Long. Parameters good. Kinda reaching stock limit. My fish are all small & none at full textbook size. Down to 5 false juliis, 1 panda (looking for friends for him) 4 pymys 5 glass catfish 2 endlers 3 otos Added the 3 peacock gobys. Gave them their own lil hangs out & they seemed content for 1st few days. 3 males, no females at the store. I took the main aggressor I caught in the act out & put him in a nano plant tank for now. I'm watching the other 2 like a hawk! Lol I have feeling the one he paled around with was involved. He's flaring his fins at everyone. The really small julii had red bruising all over his little head & sides. The bigger was upside down under the one bridge of plants they like. I saw them swimming around another young julii & caught the one head butting & pecking him. Opposite end of tank now
@aquaticconceptsbringingwaterto 😩 sounds good I appreciate the info. I'll probably bring them back to the store. Tank was nice & at peace til I added them. So pretty but my cats were there 1st 😞 I figured small like all mine, we'd be able to squeeze them in. Looks like a no go tho, ty My biggest glass cat is 2.5 inch, they hang out mid levels mostly. The pymys are tiny & stick to the plants. 2 endlers under an inch, the one is a bitty, he stays that way lol. The false juliis will max at 2 inches so they handle the bottom. & the otos are about 1.5 inch on the glass mostly. So everyone was handling the tank size great. Up til I added the 3 gobys lol
VERY.VERY informative i just bought 2 thanks for sharing👍👍
George C2tha49fish beautiful fish and they are still all doing very well! Please subscribe! Thank you.
George C2tha49fish I will be doing an update on those species soon! I hope you will comment and let me know how your two are doing?

Pretty cool fish!

In your opinion, is it possible to have a group of six of them with a Betta in a 45lt aquarium?

I know this video is yrs old now, but anyone have issues with aggression?
I got 3 of these & they ganged up & killed 2 false julii corys 😢
@@A_o7_ That is unusual. How big is your tank?

@@A_o7_ Your tank in my opinion is too small and the types of fish are in some cases incompatible for a tank that size.

Sometimes you just have to experiment a little bit before you figure it out. Good choice.
I am getting 6
How big is your tank? Make sure you have a lid of some sort as these fish are known to be jumpers. Good luck. Please subscribe. Thank you.
