This is a tiny but capable microphone that sounds good and has some surprising hidden features to it that include AI noise cancellation and more.
It also has its own built in pop filter and shock mount. It has two cardioid pick up patterns but is able to deliver impressive sound, especially for things like voice overs.

The DuoCast has higher bitrate and the shock mount lets it be rotated so its easier to integrate on mic arms. Unless you want the RGB effects, DuoCast is the better buy.
but the stereo mode of quadcast is good for instruments
That's exactly why i went with the Duocast, double the bitrate and double the sample frequency.
I find it to be a better product, for 20 dollar less, and a cleaner look.
my microsoft store dosent load in anymore. So i cant get the firmware for duocast.
I have the duo cast and it is good but quite quite quite overpriced after tweaking it’s like a shire sm7b lol 😂
Quadcast sounds better tho, but if we are talking about bank for a buck then i guess you would rather get duocast.
Great video, and only watched the entirety of it for the Duocast but this really helped me pick out a budget microphone as I've been stuck on multiple different ones but this video did it for me. Ill be purchasing the duocast which will be a major upgrade from my beaten up razor headset. Thanks for the video / comparison between the two microphones - Ended up picking up the duocast for practically 70 $ USD and I will be watching your other videos on the mic. Earned my subb with this banger of a video
I assume you tried it as of now, Would you recommend buying the Duocast?
@@theLuBuofmen would like to know aswell lol
@@dutey It’s not good at all. Don’t buy
@@theLuBuofmen why not?
I have been stuck between the duocast and (non rgb) quadcast. The duo is only 100 and the quad is 150 (in CAD), which one do you think is better? I am not really picky and could care less for rgb.
5:25 Quadcast S
6:45 Duocast
thanks
thanks my man
Thank you
Hyperx Duocast or Fifine A8?
Hi. Is the microphone adapter supported by a 5/8 articulating arm?
While the duocast may have 24 bit instead of the quadcast having only 16 bits, most of us are here for the gaming and streaming side of things, which would make sense for the quadcast here. Bare in mind that you can increase the sound quality of the quadcast through VST Plugins and apply them on a VST Host or APO Equalizer.
Unless you're here for the studio and music side of things, then the duocast is the one for you since it has 96KHz and 24 bit processing for a better sound quality, then again I believe that you can set this up with the default format on the device properties of your microphone.
Either way I'm going to choose the Quadcast here because it costs 90 usd right now at my local curry's and I can get a 10 percent reduce for buying it and it has two direction units that I'd use (Cardioid and Stereo) and it just sounds really good without any plugins.
Also the HyperX Duocast is a mono microphone so don't expect any stereo outputs from this microphone, if you're here looking for a stereo microphone then the HyperX QuadCast is the microphone for you if you will use it's stereo feature. I think it's stereo either way but the stereo polar patterns allows you to widen the stereo and stuff.
what if you put vst plugins on duocast? guess what? you have better sound quality then quadcast.
@@cilginflix there's no difference really I'm ngl
@@Vocad what i hear on testing is huge difference actually.
@@cilginflix describe it to me and what vst plugins you used and the settings
Hey I’m pickin out my first mic specifically for gaming and discord So u would recommend quad cast for gaming ?
Based on your test, I'd say voice sounds clearer on the Duocast, I felt it was easier to understand, or maybe you were just mumbling in the Quadcast recording, I don't know :). Thanks for the comparison.
Funciona el duocast en android? Con cable otg
hey man any settings u used to improve sound of duocast? im buying one tomorrow
ua-cam.com/video/HPhgJN21B8k/v-deo.html
which sound board ur using
Is it 3/8? 5/8? Or both?
lol.... the wobbleing around in the duocast is a good thing.... less impact noise..
my hyperx duocast not working on the latest windows update do you know any solution for it?
Check if hyperx needs too update, if not check if your windows os needs too update, I've had the same problem with a lot of hyperx devices
the duo cast and normal quadcast are in the same price what should i get?
If they are the same price definitely go for quadcast.
@@eskon7752 but the sound recording of duocast is 96khz and 24bits, isn't it better?
Duocast
@@FallenLight0 same thought i also think the duo is better but interested in ppls opinion
Awesome video Prawn - What mic stand would you recommend though?
Assuming you mean boom arms (because I've not tested stands) the Blue Compass or Rode PSA1+ are my fave. Buy cheap, buy twice
Nice video! What microphone where you using in this video?
I thought I said at the end?
I got the mic on sale for $59.99 on prime day👍🏼👍🏼
Damn what a beautiful voice you have man
Thanks. Subscribe to hear more of it.
Which filters you're using?
Great video, by the way :D
None
hello sir !! really well made video !! but did you test the "procast" model ? thank you !!
Soon
@@TheProvokedPrawn Nice to Hear it ! i don't know if it can interest you, can you test it on a Sony UTX-P40 ? i don't have any sound recorder, but i have all the UHF Sony wireless mic so if it work, i Will probably go for it
how do i hear my own voice when recording so i can identify the sound of my own mic?
Plus a 3.5mm headset into the mic
Which of the two is better for recording music?
they are not made for singing
Which one has better surround sound? Wanna buy a mic to make asmr for reading but can't find a good example of sound of the duocast
What did you end up with
@@harmanhameed6286 nothing yet haha
Which one's better, price wise?
Duocast
Quadcast or duocast beter?
A majority of people are going to be better off with the DuoCast. Higher bitrate, smaller form factor, easier to integrate onto mic arms since it can rotate on the shock mount.
@@SeanOMatic hello funciona con android? Con cable otg solamente ?
@@vertigotigrense8956 Funciona perfectamente, al ser de una impedancia de 32 oms va ir perfectamente en cualquier teléfono Android moderno.
@@alexoures It doesn't though. It uses the same capsules, just more. However, the onboard processor lacks in comparison and records at lower bitrate. For simple recording and podcasts, Doucast is great. Quadcast will pick up instruments better but at that point, you should invest in better equipment anyways
What do you think you should get for game recording
If you Have low budget duocast but If you want you mic to Look cool i really recommend Quadcast
You've been busy!! :-)
Very. Much more to come as well.
@@TheProvokedPrawn Excellent!!
i got the duocast for 75usd
Good price
taking 5 and a half mins to demo a mic and no timestamps is wild
Not having 5 mins to watch a video is wild.
@@TheProvokedPrawn yeah well when youre looking for a mic youre usually going through a bunch of different videos of that same or other similar mics so having to skim through 50 10min videos just to hear a mic for a few seconds gets annoying but you go get your watch time, king
@@Amonfobious you know, this sounds like a personal problem
