Morning Renata, we always look forward to your lovely messages and feel really pleased to be able to bring each new place to you. How nice that you have such happy memories of Edinburgh, have you been to Glasgow too?
Watching this on fourth week of coronavirus lockdown. I'd already forgotten what my city looked like with people in it. All these streets are currently deserted and all businesses closed. Many of them will never recover. In the case of the Scottish tat shops that's no bad thing.
I live in the centre of Edinburgh and walk around these streets every single night in the lockdown as we can walk for exercise. The streets are very different on an evening now as everything is closed. This was a great look although you were only a few yards from walking to the castle at one point which I think viewers would have loved to see.
Hey Robert, it must be a lot quieter now too, with so many tourists staying away? We did want to film the castle btw, but we were short of time. I like to think we'll be back to film it, especially as our Edinburgh videos are some of our most popular. (Plus, we just love the city!)
@@LivingWalks - It's a wonderful video and I enjoyed seeing the old Edinburgh because indeed everything has been dead since this began. When I walk along the Royal Mile at 7pm each night it is a ghost town. There was no festival in the summer, which normally attracts a million people. There are no tourists, no pubs open. A few restaurants opened for a short period but I walk past the staff just stare back at me from rooms of empty tables. At 17:12 - If you had just gone towards the right that is the main entrance to the castle. However, the most beautiful view of the Castle is along The Mound and then Princes Street. If you cut into Princes Street Gardens there is the "Ross Fountain Edinburgh," if you Google that term it is my favourite view in Edinburgh. It was fully restored a couple of years ago. An Edinburgh businessman bought it at the Great Exhibition of Paris 1862. But actually, you picked pretty much, the exact way I'd walk if someone visited me. But if you just started a Few metres earlier you could have shown the Scot Monuments and on the bridge, you begin if you look right there are amazing views across the park, National Gallery and Castle. Sorry, waffling in lockdown along for months. I miss the old life very much. Edinburgh has been a ghost town all year.
Your videos are top notch. Beautiful clear picture, no agitating noisy background music and no narrating (human or worse...robot voice). I'm glad I stumbled upon your channel. Great job buddy! 😁
Good of you to drop by and connect. I’m so pleased you liked the walk as it is. it makes it worthwhile to know that the walks are being enjoyed. All the best to you.
My husband and I went to Edinburgh for our honeymoon 2 years ago, and I'm so glad we did. We also went to Zürich for two days, but Edinburgh is close to my heart. My grandparents are from Kent, and I always felt a strong connection to the culture in the UK, more so than American culture even though I was born and raised in America. I have always felt a longing to go back ever since.
Hello there She Brews, how nice to hear that Edinburgh is so close to your heart, I can quite see why. I'm sure that your grandparents being from Kent (very close to where we live) is enough to give you a connection to the culture in the UK, perhaps through their stories and character traits. I do hope you get to visit someday. I have a few films up here of some Kent towns, so perhaps one is close to where they were born? Thanks for taking the time to connect, we appreciate it.
Ah I can quite imagine that Francesca. I hope being able to visit here virtually helps you to feel a little bit connected when you need it and I hope you get to revisit someday too.
I lived in Edinburgh for the first 33 years of my life and am far away now. It's so nice to see the city and hear the sounds. Thanks for no music! I'm interested to know how you manged to keep the camera so steady whilst you walked?
Hi there Mike, how nice to receive your message. Pleased to have brought some good memories back to you. We keep the camera steady here by using a gimbal with the gopro.

Looks like a dream place to retire to, I love the wet cold weather of the UK and the intricate historical buildings around. Especially the old towns with very old houses. I'm tired of Malaysia's hot weather.
Hi Azhari, oh how interesting to hear you love the wet cold weather of the UK and the historical old towns. I guess it's the contrast, as Malaysia's hot weather appealed to us!!

@@LivingWalks Until that Sunday. Chucked it down!
@@kevinkibble8342 Oh I think I was home by that point in rather dry Essex.
I have bern to many cities in Europe...Edinburgh is my favourite🤩
I understand why LeClare, we love it too.
Hoping to go to Edinburgh Uni next year, looks beautiful.
What a great time you'll have, I'm sure you won't be disappointed.
Lovely! Espero ir pronto!
Estoy seguro de que la pasarás muy bien
Its very nice place to walk and to relax i like it!
Thanks for visiting bob bob, so pleased you dod. I have a few more here of the city if you'd like that?
I love Edimburgo, i was living there for one year ant it is a beatiful place.
Pleased you enjoyed your stay there, we do agree it's a lovely city.
I've lived in Edinburgh for 6 months. It's been 5 months since I left, and walking through those streets again still breaks my heart
Ah I can quite imagine that Francesca. I hope being able to visit here virtually helps you to feel a little bit connected when you need it and I hope you get to revisit someday too.
@@LivingWalks thank you❤️

Thanks for visiting. I've been enjoying your Around the Hollow pond | Walthamstow walk too.
¡Amo Escocia!
Cuando hicieron este video yo me encontraba también allí y caminé por todos esos lugares, caminar en en Edimburgo es muy placentero. ❤️🏴🇬🇧😎
Gracias por revivirme esa sensación tal placentera.
Me pregunto si pasamos junto a ti cuando estábamos filmando. Encantado de que haya disfrutado de la ciudad tanto como nosotros.
Land of my ancestors. Hope to visit soon.
Thank you for dropping by E. I hope that happens for you soon. Best wishes to you.
Can’t believe I just watched a 25:47 long vid of Edinburgh lol. Fantastic city. I’d love to watch you doing such walks vlogs around kenmore. It’s a beautiful little village in perthshire xx
Well hello there NC, how nice to hear you did! Quite agree it's a fantastic city. I have a few more here if you found it to be your cup of tea? Thank you for your recommendation of kenmore, it does sound rather lovely. Well perhaps someday? All the very best to you.

Beautiful ! thank you for sharing such a wonderful video :) I visited Edinburgh last summer and it was quite sunny and warm. So didn't get the typical Scottish weather as in this video. This part of the town is majestic and I would love to visit again :)
Hi there Aninda, thank you for getting in contact. So pleased you enjoyed your visit to Edinburgh last summer, how lovely that it was quite sunny and warm. I do hope you get to visit again, in the meantime have you seen the other walks here in Edinburgh? Hope you enjoy them and all the best to you.
I was there and walk on the city's street. I was a pleasure to hear the bag pipers. What I like to be, was the university. Around Scotland was a wonderful time.
So pleased you enjoyed it Sylvia! thank you for taking the time to let us know. All the best to you.

Ah here's hoing you'll be back on that train to Edinburgh soon for that fish supper. Sounds just the ticket!
@@LivingWalks My father in law from Costa Rica enjoys the cold wet weather the same way too, even when its lashing down with rain, had them over in February this year.
@@nutyyyy I guess the contrast makes it interesting for him.
@Pennyroyal Tea Thanks for dropping by. I have to say that whenever I've visited it's been very pleasant, as you say nothing too extreme, which is rather nice.
@Pennyroyal Tea correct the weather is no better or worse then most in Scotand and i have lived here all my life roasting hot today as it happens
Achei o que estava procurando há anos!!!!!! Obrigada!!!!!
Ah, que bom ouvir isso! Então valeu a pena fazer os filmes. Espero trazer a você muitos mais.

@@LivingWalks I would like you answer one question. I want to visit Edinburgh in January (not in 2021). Is January a good month for that? I will to study english and to walk in places of the city. Thanks by your your help!!
@@krisdias6079 Hi Kris, it depends on how you feel about cold weather, as it will be the coldest season with possibly some snow. I think the city is lovely year round but I like the warmer weather so if it was me I would go in Spring or summer.

good to hear from you. Greetings back from the uk
Edinburgh is one of my favourite cities and it was great to go on a walking tour again. The person filming it could have walked a bit faster though. I started to get impatient. :-)
Hi there, So pleased you enjoyed it, ha ha, sorry you thought it was a bit slow, we have some people thinking it’s too fast! happy Christmas to you.
From everything I’ve seen from the cities to the geography, Scotland is the most scenic region of the Isle of Great Britain.
Yes it's a lovely area of Britain for sure. There's also the Lake district, Yorkshire moors and many other nice places to be explored too. I'll soon be adding Oxford if you feel like a wander there sometime? Thanks for taking the time to drop by. All the very best to you.
