Studio mixing is different than live!
At a root level, we are taking multiple inputs sources and creating a mix.
But having loud speakers in the same room as the microphones definitely changes things.
In this video, we talk through a few things that will help keep your live mixes sharp:
    -High Pass Filters
    -Subtractive EQ
    -Gain Structure
    -Dynamic EQ
If you approach these things with a "live" mindset, you can better control your mixes in a loud environment.
    ______
    Step up to the mixer.

I'm learning studio mixing on my own and would like to eventually do live mixing for concerts and church. I didn't understand a lot of what you shared but I think it is all helpful information for my journey. Thank you; I subscribed.

Thanks!, agree on all your points, also, I think mixing live for big venues where you can't hear much of the stage at FOH is a totally different approach to small venues or clubs where at FOH you can still hear a lot of the stage, mainly drums and guitar/bass amps, on the latter is more important to reinforce what we can't hear from FOH like vocals or keys/tracks., What's your approach to those situations?
