- Austin, Texas is by far one of my favorite cities to visit in Texas. The hill country of Texas has a lot of things to do and no matter the time of the year you can always find a beautiful sunset at The Oasis, amazing food at the plethora of food trucks throughout the city, or swim in Austin's natural swimming pool, 'Barton Spring' year-round.
After Austin, we headed south to San Antonio, Texas to explore the riverwalk and to try some authentic Mexican food. The adventure didn't stop there, Mike surprised me by stopping in Gruene, Texas where we discovered the oldest music hall in the State of Texas.

dude, i was in Austin for work from between November and December last year. im from Miami, fl and when i tell you Austin captured my heart.....if i could i would pack up and move out there ASAP.....actually i REALLY do want to move out there. i stayed at the Arnold on 6th st and we literally walked to the downtown area every weekend to hang out. rainey street was lit!!! also loved how they closed off a section of 6th on the weekends so people can walk around from bar to bar. people are just so friendly out there! and the weirdness of Austin is something i can get behind lol. i feel like here in Miami all you can do is club/party or go to the beach. out there you have live music, you still have your bars and clubs but you can also travel 30 minutes outside the city and be in a completely different world and i absolutely loved that. im really hoping i am able to move out there one day...

I moved from Miami to Austin about 9 years ago and haven't had any regrets.

MISSRUE32MCGEE I would definitely say North Austin/ Pflugerville area. When I originally moved here I was in North Austin/ Wells Branch area and I really liked it, but I relocated to Pflugerville this past spring and I love it!

From TX and while Austin is a cool city, in the last visit weeks ago it seems to be a bit ruined by its now Democratic leadership. Walked out of hotel and passed probably 50+ homeless and passed out drug users all along the sidewalk, a tent or two, etc. We will avoid downtown Austin now, especially the nicest tourist areas. Show the reality I'd say so people really know what to expect. Moving back to the hill country soon and definitely glad we will be way West of Austin and likely not visit as much as expected.
Of course a lot of what you showed was outside of the city, Lake Travis to the West, SA, etc.
This is true, homelessness runs rampant downtown near voodoo doughnuts and the capital but Austin still has a lot of beautiful scenery outside of downtown.

@@UnderRatedBeauty88 Well, they city is pointless to visit right now and somewhat dirty and dangerous yet, like most urban Democratic ran failure cities. Austin has quickly caught up as its the most "liberal" always cited in TX. If doing a visit, the hill country West/SW are the beautiful places to visit, plenty of things in surrounding small towns, etc. The capitol is great to see in Austin always with some nice history if you can get it done safely these days.
T W Thank you for the suggestions, I was just looking at hotels near the Austin airport. Thinking about it why should I move to a place like nyc. I guess I have to do more research and networking.
