I always enjoy your videos, if I said that they are nice, it is not a negative, just watching you around North Wales doing your thing with your technique is fascinating. Your short game is excellent and is a big reason for your decent handicap. I am in awe at how your swing gets you to hit a ball so far - your contact must be perfect at times. Anyway - hope to see much more of your videos and commentary.
James, I really appreciate your videos. I plan on making my second trip to Wales this summer to watch the Women’s Open and play a few rounds. Hoping to bring a few buddies with me. On another note, have you ever considered doing a video with Dan Grieve? Us average guys would really benefit from that.
Started well, finished well. Lovely course and what a great day you had. In the end only 4 shots over your target which most of us would be really delighted with! Looking forward to your next outing.
What it must be like to play some of the most beautiful courses at your own speed. Every time I go out alone to play I get matched up with 1) someone that will shoot 160, 2) someone that will shoot 74, 3) someone that will shoot 99 but have studied everything I am doing wrong by my second shot. Beautiful round, so much fun to watch.
Thanks as ever for taking us with you James. You're driving and irons were generally very good. It's interesting that is now an average round for you - I thought you played really well. So many GIRs or close. Unlucky with some of those putts. Distance control excellent. Keep it up as very enjoyable to watch. Plus if you take the triple out, then you're 15 over. Very respectable around a tight course!
Another great video James. I have played Conwy many times and really enjoy it. I find the 17 my nemesis hole. I also think your putting is on the up. Your lag putting is really good, just concentrate on the 10 footers.
Enjoyed your video James. I thought you did well apart from a couple of blow up holes (which we all have at some time). Interesting for me to see this course as my Son had lessons there (and still does) earlier this year. He's now a member at Penmaemawr, and I'll be having a round there with him over Christmas. I'd like to get on Conwy in the future, looks great.
What a lovely sunset on the 18th. I don’t think you did shank it James. In your slo-mo it looked like the club face was open. No matter, thanks for bringing us a good video. Looking forward to your vlogs from Thailand.
A bit of practice on the living room carpet will do wonders for those 3 footers. Reckon you could knock off 4-5 shots per round with a little practice. Great videos 👌
Great videos as always James. Soooo jealous. I was hoping to play Conwy on holiday this June but they had the National PGA for the whole week so I couldn’t play. It’s certainly at the top of my list to play next time I’m in the area. Well played on a tough course 👏
What a treat James, beautiful course and magnificent sunset! Don't be too hard on yourself as regards the bread and butter, those old links greens are always tough to putt well as a visitor with slopes and lots of hidden breaks that require a member's experience, nil carborundum ... 👍⛳
Have a look at the Cleveland Hy-Wood +3 and excellent club its a cross between a Hybrid and a wood great club to use gives you a little more distance than a 7 wood and so easy to hit off the fairway and the rough
great to see your progression and don't worry about the bunker mis-hap on the 5th at Leasowe.I've been a member there for over 50 years and believe me there has been a few medal rounds ended there, but it does increase the bar takings#
Another class video James, 90 around Conwy is decent. Its a great course ive played many times , its sad that its starting to price your average UK golfer out of playing it. Considering its near neighbour (North Wales club) that you can play for half the price i don’t think its worth the £125 they are charging for next summer.
R you off to Thailand again soon I go each year and in April treated myself to a game at Windmill Summit ( not far from the Airport in Bangkok ) in the morning before flying home in the afternoon, great course .
Really love seeing this course in a vlog again. And you didn't hit it in to the gorse a la Mon. Shiels! edit: How did you not use that sunset shot on 18 tee as your thumb?!!! Beautiful light.
Your golf has progressed so much over the last couple of years James. Conway is a tough course at the best of times, especially the back nine. 18 over isn't bad at all. And never say the dreaded 'S' word out loud!!😲
Trademark it “it’s a funny old game” largely played well a few lip outs and some rouge toe hits but in all honesty your channel is great - have loved seeing your improvement over time
James, you weren't happy with your putting, you are one of the best amateur putters i have seen, your distance control is fantastic. So much so, your "poor" round is still a decent 90. if you didn't putt so well, you could add 5-10 strokes
you are a very good golfer James. Please share how you get so much distance with a limited back swing, I think you turn well and properly finish your swing. Thanks for really good content, I really enjoy your narrative; assuming you are retired, were you in the broadcast business?
@@notaperfectgolfer3489well, that's impressive, thanks, I aspire to your level as a senior player coming to the game later in life. Your content production quality is exceptional, keep it coming, it's very entertaining. I'll make sure to make good contact with the ball.
I used to use a footpath at North Berwick to get to my sea angling marks and the golfers were the rudest and most pompous people I've ever met . I was always respectful, but I guess they were all privileged hedge fund investors or something equally disgusting.. I found your channel through the algorithms and absolutely love it . I've not played golf ever seriously, but would love to give it a go . Your videos are really entertaining and enjoy your peaceful and calm demeanour. Best wishes
Great course that. Not easy. Great greens but tough to putt on as very undulating. That chip on the last of you play more of those bump and runs your score will come down for sure
Not sure I'd risk shelling out 60 notes given the state of my game. Thanks for letting us experience a cracking course from the comfort of our armchairs!
This is a great channel with brilliant Golf by James, if you are watching subscribe and like and tell your friends! Another great round on a stunning course. The sunset was spectacular
I don't know when you will stop hitting woods out of long rough. Some i see you attempt Tiger wouldn't even try..I'm the same handicap as you and i would just hit an iron back onto the fairway everytime
I always enjoy your videos, if I said that they are nice, it is not a negative, just watching you around North Wales doing your thing with your technique is fascinating. Your short game is excellent and is a big reason for your decent handicap.

Best golf channel! Realistic + honest w/ no "edits". Right there w/ Golf Sidekick and a few others!
Thank you for bringing us this lovely course James . You have turned into a really consistently good golfer. Thank you ⛳️
Well done. Definitely improved bunker play. Thanks for posting.
It was ok apart from the wet sand bunker!
This is real GOLF. This is how I play and imagine most golfer's play whom have been at this blessed game for many years. 😊
If you can still club twirl your driver on the 18th and walk off with a par, then it’s been a good day 😀😀
👏👏 you deserved the par on the 18th great drive , we av all been there thats why we go back 😂 love the channel ❤️
Enjoying the golf vlogs James. Might see you on the course one day as you seem to play a lot of local golf courses near me
Lovely scenery; I'd love to play that one James. The Welsh Tourist Board really ought to be helping you out with the green fees.
Great Video james, Keep going mate.

Great content as always! Just out of curiosity, what is your day job?
Beautiful sunset, and setting. Shame about the putting. Thanks for sharing James.

I hate playing with way better players. I feel like I’m holding them up all the time. I like to play relaxed
Conwy does get rammed in the summer and at weekends...

It's a great track Conwy but if you are out of position you're in trouble!
What a lovely sunset on the 18th. I don’t think you did shank it James. In your slo-mo it looked like the club face was open. No matter, thanks for bringing us a good video. Looking forward to your vlogs from Thailand.
It went right like a shank. Very strange that iron shot I hit none other like it all year! :)
A most excellent episode. Well done!
Thanks for watching :)

A similar thing happened at Royal St David's I barely made a putt all day...
Great course and good golf. Stay strong and positive
Played there early in the year, lovely course👍

Sitting here enjoying the video wondering why it looked familiar...
"This is the hole Rick Shiels shanked 2 on..."
Oh that's why! 🤣

I have emotional damage from that hole! :)
Smashing it again mate! Looks a stunning course!
Don’t out yourself down either, the lag putts were fantastic. Just a little more time over the short ones. Looking forward to the next one
Beautiful weather! Always look forward to your videos 👍
Well done James. It’s a hard hard course. Quite windy when I played it and it chewed me up and spat me out 😂
Even the 1st is a card wrecker if you're in the wrong spot... :)

£90 is the twilight rate for next summer. People must pay it or they wouldn't charge it!
Well played, I played this course a few weeks ago absolutely loved it.
Hope you stayed out of the bunkers & rough! 👍👍👍

Great video!
Do you try to play 6000yds and under for your rounds or based on your index?
In the UK the men's tees are the yellows so I just play those 👍👍👍
Lag putting was excellent!
It's one of the few things I do well and I never practice it! :)
That heavy rough needs an iron out of there I think. Thanks for sharing the video
Your golf has progressed so much over the last couple of years James. Conway is a tough course at the best of times, especially the back nine. 18 over isn't bad at all. And never say the dreaded 'S' word out loud!!😲
Where did that come from? :)
@ ‘Shank!’ 😱
could you just tell me what shot tracer you are using.
many thanks.
Great video
Old version of Shot Tracer Pro
I never eat breakfast on a play day. Makes me feel bloated. Thanks for the round.

James doesn’t hit it very long …his “secret” is he tends to hit it straight off the tee, and putts well. Good course management 👍
I was wondering as well; over 200 with barely a half backswing needs a good strike.
I hit the middle of the club face with an ok follow through. I get 133 mph ball speed at the driving range with driver 👍👍👍

@@notaperfectgolfer3489 I suppose the shortened backswing provides greater accuracy of strike - I will give it a go.
Still a good score if a tad over your target James
Good score, only a few putts here and there. When was this blog Done ?
First week of October. From Nov onwards it changed to fairway mats...
Looks in awesome condition- what week was it filmed- says autumn
First week of Oct before the fairway mats came in...

Hedge fund managers …in North Berwick 😂😂 Lazy stereotyping. So salty
They probably thought you were walking a dog

I agree 1000% :)
never got to play this course, played Maesdu and North Wales, but watching the vlog i kinda think we missed a trick by not playing it
They are all great courses. Conwy is the toughest as you can get a triple on any hole there as I found out on this day! :)

The sunset was spectacular
expensive course but we'll worth it
I can't afford to play Conwy in the summer. Have to wait for the off season rates! :)
I don't know when you will stop hitting woods out of long rough. Some i see you attempt Tiger wouldn't even try..I'm the same handicap as you and i would just hit an iron back onto the fairway everytime

Your left hand low putting is doing you no favors.
