Incredible seeing this now. My first-ever race (125 amateur class) was at this track a few months before the 250 National was held there in 1976. I remember every turn, rut and jump. The Limontour Brothers, Pepe and Julio, who owned Allentown Suzuki, found the land and leased it for the track. I seem to remember hearing one of the top Euro riders had helped them with the layout. It was like another Unadilla but with more dust, off-cambers, loose shale, fist-sized rocks (you can see many of the riders with chest protectors and hand guards on the handlebars!) and, depending on the weather, a small muddy stream crossing at the bottom of the valley. The official name was Pennsylvania Motocross Park but we used to just call it "Fogelsville" which was the name of the town closest to the track, just west of Allentown. Amazing footage. I never thought I'd see that track again so thanks for the memories!
Great old footage of 1976. I only made it to the Sears Point Trans Am at Sonoma that year, but I have Super 8mm from the opening round of 1974 at Hangtown in Plymouth CA, all 3 classes were run for the event. Tony D won the Open class with Weinert 2nd and the Immortal Dick Mann on a BSA 500 in 3rd. Thanks for the video. 🫡
I was 17 this year and all I thought about was MX. Raced at Saddleback with AMC, CRC and AME. Was lucky I went to go to the Trans-am race at Saddleback and the GP at Calsbad. DeCoster was my hero and Brad Lackey for him campaigning the GP series.. I think 1976 was the first year of longer travel supension. I had my CZ 250 done in the rear. Could not afford another bike til 1980 with a CR250 Elsinore.
Funny how technology advances...lots of racing at Carlsbad...rough track...those first bikes with the shock moved forward were fabricated in local machine shops...seen more than one bike come back to the pits with bent swingarms. The Fukuda brothers racing team were the dudes ..good times
Just wondering, where'd you get this awesome videos? Was it remastered? Because quite clear to be honest. I subscribed right away when I so the first video. I hope you can find a video of Marty Smith in a 125cc Grand Prix where in he crashed in the start of the race. Broke off his rear fender, got back up and rejoined the pack and ended up winning the race. Thank you for sharing this and we'll be watching for more.
@franciscolopez3229 All the vids I post are shot by me on Super 8 silent or sound cameras. I am re-digitizing them using a Kodak Reels Film Digitizer. It shoots a still digital image of each frame at a rate of 2 frames per second. Because of that a 10 minute film takes about 3 hours.
They coverd this racein MXA, i remember it well. There is a picture of Weinert and in the background you can see three long haired hippy dudes packing a bowl. 🤪

Nice rhyme and I agree. Couldn't tell if he crashed or had a bike failure, but he was out of the race.

Dust and rocks…the old days.
I wish they still raced on tracks like this. Today's outdoor tracks are an over-manicured mess, even Puyallup and especially Unadilla.

Not sure, but it may have been John Savitski him, and Bevo forte were both bultaco riders at that time
