¡Muchas gracias! Me encanta mi K-3. Ni siquiera he actualizado a un K-1, sin embargo, la sensación de que mi K-3 más que supera mis necesidades por el momento. Es una cámara increíble.

Thanks. My new focusing screen has been sitting in its case forever. Now maybe I'll try it.

I watch this series of videos over and over. I always learn something that I may have missed or forgotten. One year later, I am still enjoying my K-3 ii very much. Here are some nice action shots of my favorite dog Peanut shot in Auto.

Which is the reason for changing s focusing screen. Are there various types?

Back in the day there were more reasons than there are today. Specialized photography, such as microscopy, photography for newscast overlays, and so forth, required special screens. Today the common screens are standard (typically minimal framing lines and some AF points), plain matte, and grid. I like grid the most because it helps me keep vertical and horizontal lines level. Plain matte is great for undistracted image composition. There's a lot of personal preference in screen choice and also some utility in how the screen can improve your images.

How often do we change the focusing screen? it looked okay from your viewfinder. Was there something wrong?

It's not a thing that I switch out often. In fact, I put the grid screen in my K-3 years ago and ... left it there. Different screens have different uses and, with my Pentax LX, I do switch between the grid and plain Fresnel sometimes depending on the subject. I know that the Fresnel, for instance, has a circle that corresponds with the center-weighted meter so if I use it for portraits and put the subject's face in the circle, the subject's face will be well metered. So it's a matter of preference which one to use.
The other reason to remove it is to clean underneath it.

Helpful but why would one change th focusing screen. I seemed to have missed this.

Different focusing screens offer different benefits. I like a grid screen. The overlaid grid helps me keep horizons level. I also like a plain matte as it gives me an unobstructed view of the image space. Some people prefer the split ring to help with focus.

Hi David, I just purchased a K3, do you cover back button autofocus set up in your videos and if so which one, please.

I don't recall for sure, but I don't think so. That's not a feature I use and when I filmed these I'm not 100% certain I was even aware it existed.

Thank you. Do you know how to set that up or point me in the right direction? Please.

Pentax Forums has an article on the subject, I believe. If not, then the forums themselves are a great resource for Pentax shooters.

I took this photo of a Marine helicopter off Kure Beach Pier on Feb 11, 2017. It was about a quarter mile. Sigma 70-300 lens. K3 II
