This OnePlus 7 Pro waterproof test includes washing test, shower test and immersion test. In the former 2 tests, my OnePlus 7 Pro performs well. That makes me feel confident to put my OnePlus 7 Pro into water. So in the immersion test, I planned to put OnePlus 7 Pro in the water for 2 minutes. No bubbles come out of the phone even if I put the front camera into water.
Fantastic! OnePlus 7 Pro! That's impressive.
In the 1.5-meter water test, I found that the OnePlus 7 Pro is not waterproof. If you carelessly drop your OnePlus 7 Pro into water, you should open it up as soon as possible and dry out the moisture.
After all the tests, I torn down the OnePlus 7 Pro to check out the water damage inside. There is lots of water inside the phone and everywhere.

Even with that excuse, tell who da hell would carry a phone underwater, even knowing that the touchscreen is more difficult to use undeewater (x2).

@@MisaOfficialMusic put Every dam phone in water like that and it will work fine. Stop doing these useless videos. It shows nothing, only in long term when water erosion on chip set takes effect... Only then it can fail.
In conclusion... It will survive rain, it will survive a drop in a toilet or a puddle, but it can't swim.
That's plenty water resistance for me as I don't plan on taking my mobile device with me into the pool, lake, or any other body of water.
even if you will need to take it to the pool, you can use some sort of a waterproof bag or something.
Right. Even if i had a FULL waterproof phone, i still always try my best to avoid water getting on my phone.
Even it was IP68 certified don't take it in a pool the chemicals used in the pool corrodes the rubber used seal water out

@@acecarpenter502exactly. these IP certification tests do all their tests with tap water. they don't test for chemical resistances such as salt water, chlorine, or acidic liquids like soda or juice.
The absolute best water test video Ive ever seen. He educated me on so much about technology that I never knew you could do with phone. On top of that, questions I didnt even thinking of asking that I'm glad i know were answered. For a phone made to be waterproof in the "accidental drop it in water" scenario, this is actually amazing how good it is !
I hate when there is a smartphone with pop up camera and peoples always come with the stupid arguments of "not waterproof, dead with a single drop of water", "fragile, will break easily", "it is a part with wear and it won't last forever", "slow to cope up for face unlock".
Well actually they are more than good enough against water, they could probably be rated IP54 up to IP66, and this is possible to actually make a IP68 smartphone with pop up camera.
They are so strong drop test showed that the screen or whole phone will break before the camera or the pop up mechanism, and if we think about it, when retracted the camera is actually extra protected.
It will probably still work as good as new when the phone will have OLED burn in at a level where it can't be seriously used with comfort and the battery dead.
And the OnePlus 7(T) Pro proved that the face unlock is so fast that it beat fingerprint reader and time to draw or type pattern or pin.
It also mean NO damn camera up your face constantly in a web connected device that contain potentially lot of third party apps you choose to install and give permission to access functions including taking pictures (Hiding webcam or laptop is common practice but everyone is happy with a camera always facing you on a device that literally never leave you ? Including in the bathroom for a lot of peoples ???), it also mean no damn notch or hole in your display (could you imagine any other device with a display where it is acceptable to have a hole in it ? Now consider that there is a lot of content made for full screen usage on smartphones, and the idea of notch or punch hole become stupid), and yes there is under display camera coming, but they still are constantly in your face, they lose quality as they have to see through a screen, it create a weak spot where you can't even have under display fingerprint reader, it cost more and it prevent any really secure 3D face unlock method to be implemented simply, for reasonable price and in a near future.
Talking of face unlock, when done right, the pop up mean that we can put a LOT of sensors in the pop up part that would otherwise require a huge notch or lot of holes, think multiples (or all) sensors possible between dual camera (creating a 3D view, making it difficult to fool with pictures of screens), laser dots projector (rendering detection of real 3D objects impossible to fool by using two images and allow higher safety against look alike peoples), IR and UV camera (both having their own unique set of possible details invisible to human eyes that a screen, picture or fake 3D head can't easily recreate and high level of details of the face shape), all that combined and you'll need basically a twin to unlock the phone without taking it apart or hacking it, yes I know the Pixel 4 have been recently seen unlocking the phone on peoples regardless if they are awake or not (and honestly I am never in such condition where someone I don't thrust can abuse an unawake state of mine to access my phone), but this is a software (which can be patched) not an hardware issue, and that's by putting additionals sensors that Android will TRULY have a secure face unlock seriously developed, and pop up front camera are a way to get it safely, including by the fact that you can't stealthy gather those data without the phone owner knowing it.
Making such face unlock sensor collection mean that face unlock will be the strongest safety of your phone, it would require to literally perfectly fake your head and skin in visible, IR and UV light + high level of physical detail, meaning that only high value targets would still be at risk, it will discourage thief to stole your phone as they'll lack the mean to unlock it.

My Oneplus 7 Pro survived a major storm as well. I even took photos and videos with the front camera pop up during the storm and there was no damage.

@@zkilla4611 my friend dropped my 7pro into a water about 5minutes, after 1 hour the camera was fogging, ane after 2 hours my phone couldn't start.

@@anampurwanto9870 ahh. Should of turned it off immediately. You probably could of saved it. Most likely shorted once water got to a key component. Power off open up as much as possible and let dry out for a day. Maybe even do the bag of rice trick. Sorry for your loss.

I doubted the IP certificate can survive as same was 1.50 meter of water. Very good video mate.
IP 68 means it can stand imersion byond 1 meter. This would just prove it's potentially 67 (we don't know about dust still)
