@_ David _ ok, before I get started here, I need to say that I am not a lover of apple, quite the opposite, although, the only part of your argument I would disagree with(depending on whether your talking about the phones laptops) is the overpriced, Linus showed in a earlier video that apple charges about market rate for the parts integrated into a complete system, everything else though, I completely agree with you on
Because it is a new phone and they took the time to review it. Plus Linus has stated in the past. He spends like a month or two using a phone as his daily driver before doing a review. I do not know how others handle that. I think it is a fair timeframe to make a judgment on a product. Unless it is really bad.
I choose Mr. Mobile. He's extremely truthful in his reviews and by far the best phone reviewer on youtube. He says the One Plus 7 Pro is very good but not excellent and the camera is a disappointment.
@@Qardo oneplus sent phones to reviewers 2 weeks ago and everyone published it at the same time because that's when embargo lifted and they were allowed to publish it
I should show this to all the people that think Oneplus is some vague Chinese brand. Ive owned the original Oneplus, the 5t and now the 7 pro, and people finally start to recognize the brand but mostly because of the front camera. Its a cool and unique feature but the phone is so much more. Hardware but especially the clean android imo.
I don't get why lots of people, even many Android users themselves fail to recognize brands like OnePlus, or the Essential phone, etc.... I could imagine though that, at the time these were kind of niche or "cheap" products that were lesser than standard. Of course not being a brand name, that was expected. But now, I could add brands like OnePlus, Huawei, or even OPPO into the whole mix because their quality has now been up to that standard, that those people who buy brand name products expect. Of course being that they do not have the same resources and experience in the industry, but again, they now should be considered by these people as actual good choices.

You can easily make ANY Android phone feel more snappy by speeding up or turning off the animations. First, you need to enable the Developer options menu by tapping 'Build number' 7 times in the Settings. Next, in the Developer settings, you can adjust these values: - Window Animation scale - Transition Animation Scale - Animator Animation Scale I personally set these all to 0.5x, this means all animations are twice as fast, and my phone feels much snappier.

I have an iphone6s+ and Samsung s6edge+ and they still serve me so well I don't see any reason to fork out when all these new phones are not that far ahead
They want you to get a new phone every year if possible, usually every two years. That's why they have 24 month plans and they seal the batteries so when the capacity eventually shrinks after 10 months, you either have to pay to get it fixed (or risk the repair itself) or wait to get a new phone
OnePlus 7 Pro is a fantastic phone especially with the BlackFriday promo going on. First time?
Our phones have a new drop related feature, who will we have show it off for us.

It has Linus resistance lvl 1
I still think dash (or warp) charging is superior to wireless charging.
Any wired charging is better. Wireless charging is inefficient. Waste of power.
Yep! I am extremely fond of the insane charging rate of my OP6. My moms S9 has an ok charge rate with its wired charger but all wireless chargers we have tested are slow AF.
Does it have intelligent charge so it doesn't quick charge when it's plugged in at night or near full?
@@1FelixxileF1 I'm pretty sure all phones do that now. I don't even plug my OP6 in the night though. I just charge it while freshening up in the morning and it lasts me over a day.
Different strokes. I went from a Oneplus 6 to a Note 8 and while dash charging was insanely fast, it is quite convenient to just put my phone on a charge stand or pad and not think about it. Seems odd, but not having to deal with wires is oddly satisfying.

I will be honest, i TOTALLY trust oneplus to make amazing phones ever since i bought my oneplus one. Incredible phones indeed. The custom rom support is awesome too. My oneplus one could still run up to date android, and we are now at OP7
I thought the Op one was donator exclusive
@@GhostlyTekk no, you could buy it through the referral scheme, then when demand died down more you could just buy one on the website (I bought mine through the website)
Me too. I got the OP 5 at launch and it still feels awesome to use now.
You’re on Android Pie?
Well, if we are judging by custom rom support, my old and shitty gs2 came from 2.3 gingerbread to literally all android versions up to 9.0 and with alternative go versions.
And no, its kinda bad even tho it lasted since 2011.

If you go on to developer options and turn animation scale duration to 0.5x or 0x it will feel faster, on any android phone. You just have to tweak it a little ;)
That is not really recommended tho. You get faster animation at the cost of UI smoothness.
@@changsheng12 it's still snappier ;)
you are a lifesaver
No its not faster actually...... I love Samsung but I did the same trick on Samsung on my s9 it did open the app faster but took some time to load it..... But when I did the same thing on 6T it did not like take time to load but it just started the app, just like that..... And since the smart boost feature on the new update oneplus has gotten even faster...... But very rarely because of the smart booster feature It closes the idle app........ But hey you can turn it off in utilities option
Linus Touch Tips usually has really good reviews.
This was an enlightening review. I always thought that Google and Samsung had the fastest android phones. At first I thought 90 hertz was excessive, however, OnePlus has definitely proven otherwise. 30 watt warp charge is impressive, and it’s cool that OnePlus was confident enough to invite you to their R+D laboratories.
Maybe this will be my next Android device
Please keep the review phone on the same side when comparing. It keeps switching between being on left vs on the right.
And please keep it on the left, makes more sense in my brain somehow
This is just poor directing
8:30 Oh my God! I just saw a camera with human hands!

Enjoying my headphone jack. :)
Ikr hopefully the prices drop further with this announcement so I can buy it.
@@xmlthegreat Yeah you can definitely find them for less these days. Got the 128gb version for 420€ on Amazon, which is a bargain if you compare to launch price.
@@iggyj looks like I need to get the 5 then. I found one for approx 250 USD used. Amazon refurbished.
@@xmlthegreat Whilst I agree you can get great value for money with the older phones, remember that OnePlus only guarantee 2 years of software updates with an extra year for security updates. 1+6 came out last year so it's still got lots of life left, and I intend to hold on to mine for a good 3-4 years. I'd be more sceptical when buying a phone from 2017 though.
@@iggyj that's a good point but I'm using a Xiaomi phone from 2016 so that's a moot issue for me lol.
How to talk about phones?
Linus: Start with dissing apple..
Fuck the rotten Apple
we got to a point where apple is just fucked no matter what they do because tech channels knows it makes android fanboys get a chubby
@_ David _ SPEAK THE TRUTH BROTHER!
@_ David _ ok, before I get started here, I need to say that I am not a lover of apple, quite the opposite, although, the only part of your argument I would disagree with(depending on whether your talking about the phones laptops) is the overpriced, Linus showed in a earlier video that apple charges about market rate for the parts integrated into a complete system, everything else though, I completely agree with you on
@o k never said I would
Literally everyone is posting about OnePlus 7 . But I have chosen to watch this
Because it is a new phone and they took the time to review it. Plus Linus has stated in the past. He spends like a month or two using a phone as his daily driver before doing a review. I do not know how others handle that. I think it is a fair timeframe to make a judgment on a product. Unless it is really bad.
@@Qardo But he hasn't had it for anywhere near a month.
Linus knows his shit. Talks down on anything thats crap and gives information that matters.

Honestly, this is the perfect phone for me.
I’ve survived using a 6s for four years, so I can deal with no wireless charging and water protection.
No headphone jack? I haven’t used headphones at all (including bluetooth) for months aside from the headset on my PC.
Motorized and not durable selfie camera? I’ve used my front facing camera about three times since I got the iPhone 6s.
I mean it has water protection but it just isn't officially verified by an independent 3rd party company
same for me with my iPhone 7, I might upgrade next year to oneplus.
I have the Oneplus 3T since 3 years now. Latest OS version, very stable and smooth. But the amount of upgraded tech that OP 7 pro brings is crazy. I held the phone in my hand yesterday and I was blown. Yes, after trying the iPhone 11 pro max and Note 10+, I can confidently say this is a better display. You can easily make ANY Android phone feel more snappy by speeding up or turning off the animations.
First, you need to enable the Developer options menu by tapping 'Build number' 7 times in the Settings.
Next, in the Developer settings, you can adjust these values:
- Window Animation scale
- Transition Animation Scale
- Animator Animation Scale
I personally set these all to 0.5x, this means all animations are twice as fast, and my phone feels much snappier.
What about just turning them off?

They want you to get a new phone every year if possible, usually every two years. That's why they have 24 month plans and they seal the batteries so when the capacity eventually shrinks after 10 months, you either have to pay to get it fixed (or risk the repair itself) or wait to get a new phone

OnePlus 7 Pro is a fantastic phone especially with the BlackFriday promo going on. I hate to tell you this linus but you can reduce the animation in every android phone through developer option.
True. I guess they have such a long animation timer to make the phones feel smoother for the common user. Personally i like to have it turned off cause it feels alot faster. However it seems to notice actual lag much better without animation time.
These phone reviews are targeted at a wide audience and judging the stock experience is the only option for comparing android devices.
You can tweak everything, but where do you draw the line?
back in the days those animations were something to distract you from the fact that the phone wasn't finished with its given task. don't know if that's still the case though.
