As an American living in Woking as a kid. My Parents bought a MK 2.. We later moved to Texas , of all places.. Then to New Jersey.. She traveled with us from the UK on the SS United States.. What a Great Car
I owned a stock 68 mk2 in the early 80s, loved that car! Sorry I sold it to purchase a newer car. Love this white updated version, people had 2nd looks! Thanks
My late brother liked his 3.8s. Usually in red with chrome wires. In those days on Dunlop Roadspeed tyres. Two things I remember 18mpg without overdrive 21mph with. Also they were a bit back happily. Very easy to spin. Usually through 90 degrees rather than 180.
Very nice indeed, nearly perfect, I think the oil cooler needs to be matt black and the cam covers look too modern. (I cannot afford it so I may as well be picky).
i can do without the headrests, five-speed, and i've already got the power brake and rack and pinion steering, but, boy,oh boy, could i use that A/C out here in california! :)
Exhaust manifolds would look much better with porcelain. Not that expensive. Prefer the smooth cam covers to these. I had a MKII with Jag 4-spd + overdrive. Worked just fine. Don't see the need for a modern 5 spd. Would be different if it were an E-type.
Beautiful vehicle and obviously much time, money and effort involved. But why wouldn't you newer looking ancillaries such as hoses and that alternator? Surely if they were reconditioned/replaced, they'd surely smarten up the engine bay..
For my sins I have a low mileage ex South Africa Mk.2 3.8, in very fine condition, with the same colour combination. Gorgeous lines, but it’s heavy to drive due to it having the original steering set up. Looking at the dashboard of this particular car, I see it has a manual choke control . Could this car have originally been a 2.4? Lovely machine, and oh those mods!
The best thing you can do to a mark 2 is put an automatic box into it my mark 2 was a 2.4 automatic 1964 I bought it 1977 for £700 withe 43 thousand miles on the clock I was the second owner it had belonged to chivas regal the whiskey company paisley Scotland 🏴 wish I had never sold it
Very difficult to make out what's being said during the drive. J Leno does much better. I recall the infamous 3.8 developed about 220 HP, does this later design 4.2 develop more. The sound during acceleration seems a bit extreme, again how different is this to the original 3.8?
I've been driving for 57 years, owned about 45 different cars, a few performance cars, never bought any car for its "safety features". I don't buy them to crash, I buy them to drive, the best safety features are skill, driving safely to conditions, obey the rules, good vehicle maintenance followed by lashings of good old common sense, (not so common today). Many have become so smart as drivers with all the "safety features" we've abrogated our responsibility as safe operaters of motor vehicles.
Lovely car overall and the mechanical upgrades further enhance that. But aesthetically William Lyons would not have approved of those head rests and the air con vent looks 2 decades out of place. There are far better options available from across the pond.
Sadly from 2030 on all combustion cars including classics will be banned from public streets in entire EU and Scandinavia :-( In Germany the Green Peoples Party gave order to shorten fuel supply from 2025 on by reducing all conventional fuel stations to only one state operated central gas station per city or county. Now they even want to slow down all the gas pumps from 20 litre per minute to 2 litre per minute...From 2027 on in the EU certain car spare parts will be banned too....as exhaust systems, turbo chargers and even some engine and gearbox oils...California and New York will do the same from 2027 on.... So no investments should be done in oil burning cars any longer....They even created a new kind of crime here, called emissions and smoke crime.
@@grahamw56 Biggest problem is China, PRC dictates the end of use of all combustion cars worldwide. Its not about the environment....Chinas boss Darth Xi told most politicians that they wont do any business with underdeveloped countries that still allow CO2 emitting traffic, aircrafts, ships or combustion based industry after 2030...I am sure USA and UK also will be forced by China to 100% electric traffic because today no industrialized country can afford sanctions by China.... The only Mk2 that's worth having is a Mk2 that's just like it came out of the factory - Warts and all. It may drive better and it may be faster but this Jaguar is ruined.

I love the MK2 Jaguar, the most beautiful car ever produced.
Lovely bubbly! I shall never forget the joy that my late Dad's 1964 3.8mk2 brought him! ( 1969 -75) ( and me!) SUPERB motoring machine in all respects
My all time favorite car, it cannot get any better than this.
What a lovely car and the workmanship is first class ..

That really is a beautiful car.
much much better than anout any new car.
Beautiful car along with the DS my favourite lovely inside and out and for me along with the E type Jaguar’s most beautiful car.
Looks spectacular and drives like a dream. Great video...
Beautiful, fantastic work, lovely car.
Well done…beautiful car…looks and sounds fantastic…
Dad had a Mk 2 with wire wheels, blue it was very nice.
Truly magnificent. How does one drive a modern car after this?
only difference is that on hard cornering the seats in newer cars hold on to you, whereas in the mk2 you hold on to the steering wheel! :)
Beautiful car brilliant upgrades makes the car very usable while keeping it very original great work guys
beautiful line and 5 speed motor
Loveley sensible mods
Truly beautiful car. 👌👌👌
Very tastefully modified, some one is gonna be a lucky owner , thanks for showing
Absolutely stunning ❤
If only I could afford this. This is pure raw class, tasteful modern upgrades but done right. Lovely :)
Wow what a car !
Gorgeous. I wouldn't grow tired of seeing that on my driveway. I might even run my hand over it from time to time. Its the curves for me 😂😂😂

Not wishing to bust bubble but fine handling powerful motor like this ,air bags or something might be good investment
