I always had such a fascination with this song. I am not someone who struggles with addiction with alcohol, pills or otherwise. But when I listened to the original version of this song, I felt the darkness of the lyrics, accompanied by a beat that sort of distracted from the message. It felt very appropriate since a lot of people who struggle from addiction could probably tell you what it's like to mask and run away from the problem they're facing. To me it's a perfect blend to get the message across. Some people will simply hear the beat and get down to it, others will learn the lyrics and try to understand what the artist was feeling when writing it. Now I'm here listening to the acoustic, which to me is a much more vulnerable attempt of conveying the same message. I feel so much pain when the lyrics are front and center, not surrounded by an infectious beat. This song was actually the first song I heard from Loner and I immediately was hooked to MISSIO. Absolute artistry here. Beautiful work guys
