- Telltale may have gone through some weird changes, being gone for some time, but before their untimely demise they created what is arguably the best Telltale game: Batman the Telltale Series Season 2 otherwise known as Batman the Enemy Within. This game introduced new characters, expanded on the first games decision making system, reinforced previous themes and took a new look at not only the Dark Knight but also Gotham City and Bruce Wayne. John Doe is also the best character in Telltale of all time. #Batman #Telltale #BatmanJoker

One of things I feel was done right in this game was The Riddler. I mean this guy has been one of the most popular Batman villains of all time and in almost every medium he's in he is written and treated as an annoyance rather than a threat including the Arkham series. It's like he never got the proper upgrade that every other villian has had from the 60's era (Joker, Catwoman, Penguin, Fries etc.) but, in just the introduction to the first episode of the game, he is established brilliantly. He's a very old, experienced, knowledgeable (which is something Arkham couldn't really make him for some reason) criminal mastermind/terrorist. I even like the design cause it's so unique and something we have never seen from this character, like the hood and the pointy q staff, and it's not the usual campy design that we always see. And the riddler death traps in the game are actually terrifying, they give like a SAW vibe to the Riddler which makes him more menacing. It's funny cause like halfway through the game I was like, "If Nolan was still doing his Dark Knight films, and he wanted to have Riddler as a villian, he would possibly be very similar to this Riddler. Idk about most people, but this is probably my favorite Riddler adaptation from page to a different medium that I've ever seen. It's sad though cause he gets very limited screen time.
@J C True, though we do get to witness the Arkhamverse Riddler going down a path where he becomes more unhinged as he repeatedly fails to defeat Batman. Until he gets to the point where he's piloting a killer robot suit in an attempt to kill him.
The Bruce Wayne and Joker moments were my favorites
Same here. That was sort of the soul of it for me.
It sets up the emotional side of how the Joker and Batman were meant to be.

But seriously though, I love this game, even more than the first one. This Joker was great too. All of the villains were. I was legitimately sad and kind of angry from the ending, in a good way. Because despite my best efforts, I couldn't prevent what happened. And boy was it sad.

Tales from the Borderlands is a really close second but this series literally does new things with the Batman IP
The fact joker can basically be a batman fanboy and become a vigilante himself is which a great and original is desperately wanted him to be good
I like that Telltale switched Harley and Joker’s roles in this game! It was an interesting take on both characters. I also like that they rewrote a lot of other characters such as making Riddler older than Batman.

I loved Enemy Within. Great voice acting, writing and character work. (John Doe rules, and their take on Riddler was a brilliant twist)
PLEASE give us a Season 3!
For me, the top 5 would be
5. The story as a whole, especially the new take on the Suicide Squad.
4. The fight choreography, especially in the episode 4 fight against Freeze and Bane. They did an amazing job this time around.
3. Delving into the morally grey side of Batman and Bruce, and presenting us with choices that blur the lines of good and bad.
2. The way that your choices actually matter this time around. There are two completely different episode 5s and the choices made throughout the game have real weight to them, especially the very last one (which is why I really want a season 3)
1. Joker. The way this game developed his character was so unique and his story, regardless of which of the two ways he ends up, is so well done, especially if you push him down the vigilante track.

@@lushaluthuli9155 cause they forced us to play as a character we didn't give a f about in season 3 just to be completely forgotten in 4. If you skip season 3 you can still play the 4th one with no troubles.
@@thestrong2401 I agree completely. Seriously, what were they thinking - they had so much to work off of at the end of Season 2 and they just threw it all away. Such laziness is UNACCEPTABLE!!!
@@lushaluthuli9155 they clearly didn't know how to continue Clem story with all the different endings from season 2 so someone said, let's make them all irrelevant and explain that Clem ended up alone no matter what she chose, using some cheap flashbacks while making the main game about a new character no one wanted.
I always appreciated that both season one and two had the story focus on Bruce more than Batman, which let's be honest, is what makes this incarnation more memorable for me. Telltale really understood how to put the "Man" back in Batman and it pays off so well. I really don't know how they could top season three but I still look forward to a third season.
I replayed an episode for one choice at the very end just so John would be happy at the end of it. All I wanted was to keep him happy.
Yeah, no matter what you do his story is pretty tragic but it's really done well
That's how I played this game the first time, I did everything I could to keep John happy so he wouldn't be evil
I know he was only in the first episode, but the way Riddler was written, he actually felt like a real threat to Gotham and Batman himself, due to his high intelligence, sadism and skill in hand to hand combat
Batman The Enemy Within is an underrated masterpiece to me and it's my Favorite underrated game I hope Batman telltale season 3 happens and it's my Favorite telltale game and it's more better than the first and Laura bailey is great as catwoman, Troy Baker is great as batman he's my second Favorite batman next to Kevin conroy and Anthony Ingruber As Joker Is great and when John doe Becomes joker in the Vigilante joker story it's super tragic and this is coming from a Die hard batman

Telltale managed to tell a thoroughly unique story in a universe that's a century old. That's impressive, and they don't get enough credit for their creativity.

I will say this is one of my favorite versions of Joker/John and I never thought i'd enjoy playing a Batman game as Bruce Wayne more than I would Batman. I feel that you as Bruce Wayne makes John Doe end up as Joker and not Batman atleast in this version and I love it!
I honestly couldn’t have cared much for John in season 1 but for some reason going through season 2 I actually thought of John as a friend and as it got towards the end it got harder to make decisions

Hey Jay. I just had to say something about telltale really quick. You say choices in most of their games don't matter, and you're right. However I just wanted to talk about what you said about the blurb before each episode. "This game series adapts to the choices you make. The story is tailored by how you play. Now I want to bring attention to the word" Tailored." Because that isn't a lie. You're not changing the story, just coloring it with the colors you want. And I have to say that choices do matter, not in terms of the main story, but in terms of your relationships with the cast of characters. At least in season 1 of The Walking Dead.
I hope they do a season 3! And being a big Black Mask fan I’m kinda hoping to take him on with him being the new crime boss or if he’s already established and take down his empire would be awesome
Lol this game did better with the decision but it still had moments where it said like "Timothy will remember that" then literally dies 1 minute later and gets shattered into pieces after being frozen.Oh yea he sure will remember that.
Favorite moment is beginning of Episode 5 in the Vigilante Path when Joker Grapples away a Hurt Batman.
That part is Legendary
Honestly, I think this is the best Joker ever done. Severely underrated.
I think he is rated just fine. Everyone loves John Doe, never met someone who had played this game and wasn't a fan.

Well telltale is back now, and I think that they were rehiring a lot of the previous workers to try to join the company again. They were purchased and then reopened so it's always possible. They are doing the wolf among us season 2.

5:14 I love this part of the game.
Like the typical Telltale game, your choices create a deviating path that ultimately snaps into place eventually and ends JUST ABOUT the same way. Watching a walkthrough is just as fun as playing it yourself.
Honestly this is one game where I disagree with that. It ends similar but John is completely different depending on the ending. The entire final episode diverges a lot.
And the entire time Joker(John Doe) new Batman was Bruce! That was the biggest surprise in my opinion! The hardest choice in the game is the last one with Alfred, I not going to say just in case for spoilers but yeah
He didn't know "the entire time", even if he acted suspicious back when they were together in Arkham Asylum. If you've actually played the game, you know when John puts 2 & 2 together...

But the whole laptop thing, when John brought it to Batman I was bummed when I realized that there was no way to refuse it/pretend you don't know what's that laptop for.

Tbh, I liked this Joker iteration but I kinda liked penguin better, I know that this is an extremely unpopular opinion but I just liked how they took penguin, that and his design was also amazing to me, I especially liked how they made him slightly agile and changed his main villain outfit, especially the mask
While I don’t think the ending where joker becomes your enemy is the best, it is definitely is the most true to Batman ending, if you catch my drift
Only thing i hate is the ending-- it resonates with me so much and thats not good. I wast fullfilled and always wanted more. Good job on making people love the game- bad job on satisfying the end. No more telltale batman is hard to believe.
Like the Bruce Selina Arc was so good but wasn't finished. Really got me teased and catwoman wasnt much in the ending. Wanted a final goodbye. Maybe if they ever continue i hope to give the Batman Catwoman Relationship at a peak, like marriage and a child like the comics. Ship 100%
Really need a third entry as possibly a last but hopefully not because while I loved the game and most everything about it, I don’t feel like it tied things up enough to be the last entry

The Telltale Series is my favorite version of Bruce Wayne and Bruce's Batman.

Who was that gray-haired lady in the beginning of the video that saw Bruce put on the batsuit? I’ve played this game but I don’t remember her.
She's just some random lady. At the start of episode 1, she's trying to make small talk with Bruce right before Riddler shows up. You have an option to warn her and she can leave the building with Bruce. She doesn't actually see him don the batsuit (they go their separate ways first); this video was just edited in a slightly weird way that made it look like she saw.
I get that it's a different interpretation but I'm in the minority when I say that I didn't like Harley Quinn being an alpha. Maybe I'm just too used to the original

These are my negative things about the hole taltel series okay spoiler alert
1. If you have the best reputation for both Bruce and batman the same thing happens
2. If let your house burn down from harvy going for painguin the next season your house is not burnt down
3. And at the end of the game you have the same ending but either you give up batman or stay with batman
