Great video. I am a new home owner and want to put some gutters myself, but I am a little nervous. Watching your video gives me the confidence that I need to proceed. Great job at explaining. Thanks.
Yeah the gutter is behind the drip edge, theres never a situation where the gutter wouldnt be behind the drip edge. It would just leak if the back wasnt installed behind
In Texas my house is build in 1997. The used wood 1x2 instead of drip edge. Drip edge is now code with my new roof. I have installed my gutters under the 1x2 and plan to rip the metal gutters bottom say 1.5 " and slip under the drip edge to ensure the water does not drop down the facia.
@CarpentryandCarso being the gutter is behind the drip edge that would mean that the gutter brackets are not resting on the edge of the gutter itself so you just are placing bracket up against the back of gutter then fastening it being if brackets are attached to the back edge of gutters wouldn't be able to push the back of gutters up underneath the drip edge am I correct?
I looked at about 7 videos on installing gutters and they all exp;ain in their point of view cause they done it soo many times that they overlook some of the simple things that a diy might know.Like hwo far under the apron does it go ,or does it go under the apron .I have a 1x2 on my facia which mkes a gap.they don't explain that part??
True I agree but theres very little sq ft of roof here and I went with less but I shouldve put more in you're right. From gutter guys with more experience than me ive been taught that 3ft apart is "standard" now, but thats just what ive been taught, I could be wrong
Sir you hang some ugly gutters, if you want to be a professional let my guys teach you ! Just bc you THINK you know doesn’t mean you do. Too many screws on your mitres, laziness, not enough hangers and you probably charge cheap. It was a headache hearing you say “that’s just the way I do it “ or “I’ve never had any problems”. Have some standards.
Thank you very much. Im a dyi'er in Texas and watching you do the corners and the downspouts was very helpful. Kudos to you sir.

I’m glad the video helped at all! If you have any questions or things you run into feel free to ask.
Im in the same situation. But I would like to get the gutter maker machine maker
Hey brother great video. I got a question on inside box miter. How short do you run on a 6 inch k style inside box miter?
Thank You very Much this is the best diy gutter installation i seen yet it i will definitely be using as a reference as i install my gutters myself

Who makes the gutter punch that you use and where did you get it ? Thanks
www.lynchaluminum.com/product/3-x-4-lynch-rectangular-punch-kit/
Its a bit expensive, I would consider the hand punch if your only doing it for your own home.
Why is your guillotine handle on the opposite side of your controls. I would change that so you could make your cut without walking around the gutter.
Honestly I dont know why ive kept it on the opposite side but you are correct I will defiently change it thanks
where can you find that hole punch?
Amazon
Hangers spaced too far apart. Hangers are cheap. Use more instead of less.

My bad, didn't see the latter.
I sure hope you don’t install eavestrough for a living. I wouldn’t pay for that workmanship.
Thanks, I appreciate it.
You must be on stilts.
