I've that its usually a bit of dirt stuck in the sensor at the bottom of the bowl that causes the light to come on. Filter usually looks likes new when ever inspected.

same engine (basic) in my 79dc. fill the bowl and hoses with diesel before reconnecting. pump the primer a few times until hard and starts first go.

Secondary pre or post fuel filter is a good bit of insurance!!

Prefix the housing with diesel before you pop the new filter in saves manually pumping to fill it

How have you managed the dust that gets in on the engine side of the air filter. The box does not seal properly.

Jane was that the first or second filter,if it was the second what micron was the first filter.
