Wow! American Indian names sound so unique n beautiful. I love all of them. I have a daughter, 22 years now. If I knew those girlchild names years ago, I would have christened her to one of those lovely names. Thanks so much for sharing. Perhaps I can use some of these names in my novels.💟 I'm South African Indian 💟♍💟
1 native name I really like is the name "Edensaw" :] theres nicknames like Ed, Eden, Saw, etc. I think it's a unisex name? It originates from the Tlingit (Southeast Alaska) & it means "glacier". It's the only Tlingit name I've been able to find & it's nice to have it in my roster of name lexicology cause I'm Tlingit and names that come from my tribe are always hard to come by for me
Being a 60`s scoop Ojibway from Thunder Bay the highest murders of my people since the days the visitors showed up to the police system there since it`s start . Not understanding the generational curses having the generational political grandchildren even with Mp Mark R McGuigan wanting his grandson named after him & his 1st son yet @ that point I had found my people & learned . Calling him Tecumseh Raven helping keep that towns name as in 95 they wnted it part of Windsor & Tashina Naomi . it was going to be Lelawala but Naomi has the same story as Naomi who went over the falls in Thunder Bay. My cats Tatonka & Tiya.
I am not full indigenous. But I do carry the gene that makes me intrepid yet cautious and oxymoronly speaking, fearful. I grow a beard in my brown skin. Christianity has proven to be helpful. If I were to pick a name, not by my own account,. 🤔. I would say others would call me: something along the means, 'cat'. Ironically I am more of a dog person.
having a baby and my husband is native, we're loving Sahale
Congratulations!
