For anyone doing front pads on these, make sure you note which pad is interior and exterior. They have different nubs on them (one pad will have them spaced far apart, the other sibling pad will have them close together). Because of the construction of the caliper and piston getting this wrong can DRASTICALLY alter the brake feel as you will apply uneven pressure to the pad and it will feel like you have no braking pressure. Take it from me-the guy used to old cars where pads were flat on the back-I didn't know that and then let a dealer shaft me for $1500 master cylinder replacement, only to have to figure this out for myself anyways when I got the car back.
Dude, you saved me with this comment. I thought it was weird the way the caliper was going back on over the nubs, but I had already thrown out the old pads, came to watch for it in the video, and the next one I pulled out of the box looked the same and had the same number so 🤷. I almost put two inners on one side and two outers on the otherside. BTW, for anyone else. The narrow nubs are the outside and the wide nubs are in the inside.
Thanks for this! I'll be doing full pads & rotors on my ST very soon, and I haven't done a brake job in 5+ years. Very nice guide. BTW, the Mk 6 was sold in the US all the way until the 2019 model year.

Nice clear video. Thanks for making and sharing.
Timely helpful video. What are you jack points for the front?
I'll have to make a video showing it, but there are a couple of other videos I've used that show it decently well.
Mk7 and mk7.5
Yup, thanks for pointing that out!
