    Sometimes they don't engage in the right spot 🥴 then what happens is you just throw your whole part in the scrap bin. If you run a lathe that has a spindle brake, and reversing motor, keep your leadscrew engaged 😉 Always 100 percent success 👍

    I believe my lathe has 8TPI, my Father's old artisan lathe has a 3/4" double start 2TPI stub ACME leadscrew

    Hi , I'm from Spain I study machining , this is a mistery for me because I always see American UA-camrs using this threading method and after asking all my professors about this method no one knows how to work that way and have never seen it done .

    Just set a stop and run the lathe in reverse. Thread out. Bonus you won't crash your machine.
