The one I've been to, the employees hate their job and the place is never clean. I shudder to think how my order would be made from an online order if I wasn't there. 🤮
I've had dozens of JM's sandwiches. Never one single mistake, staff extremely nice and sandwiches to die for. I don't go to a sandwich shop for drama. Some people have a problem no matter where they go to eat. I suggest they make their own sandwiches, or try something new, try being nice to the staff and stop demanding service or extras on your sandwich but not willing to pay for the extras. If a sandwich shop gives you a meltdown, you have bigger problems.
So you're telling me that they have all of those extra toppings to put on my sandwich, but they get pissed when I want to add said extra toppings? I'm paying $20 for a damn sandwich, if I wanna add pickles and extra meat then give it to me
Ok got it. Dont go at lunch and order extra mayo and onions. The employee will get upset. Dont tell the employee the syrup in the soda machine is out. They will get mad. If I get hard bread. Eat it and STFU. ok got it. Am i the only one thinking if im paying that much for a sub i better get it just how I want it?
@@lisab.1595a sandwich is no reason to have a meltdown. There are plenty of other things going wrong in adult life to meltdown about. A sandwich is not one of them
I had to laugh. Just at the point where the narrator says, "That's why Jersey Mile's employees wear gloves", there is a shot of one NOT wearing gloves.
i have absolutely no problem giving pointers and instructions to food workers that can't read (or listen) to instructions from the order receipt. i'm not looking for extra meat or free stuff that's costing the store $ that i didn't pay for.
i DO want what i paid for and to make sure that there are toppings that aren't supposed to be on the order, to not show up. 💯
No, the customers have to stop acting like idiots. You don't like the way they make the sandwiches, make your own then. People constantly have to make a scene for attention.
Twice I've ordered pickup carry out and got THE WRONG sub at the Eldersburg, MD, shop. Both were straight off the menu, nothing special. If it happens again, JM will find out what pisses me off.
Stop it with the rules. It's a sub shop. I go in to get a sandwich. I'm not inconsiderate to the employees but this is just a sandwich shop. I've worked in 2 different sandwich stores myself. Assuming that customers should know a bunch of rules other than common sense is ridiculous. I've had JM's employees ignore directions like 'no cheese'. They know what they're doing...no they don't always.
The part about complaining to the wrong person can be applied to every business you walk into. That employee didn't make the rules and is powerless to change them and those complaints never go past that person other than them sharing their latest annoying customer stories with each other. Always write to a corporate office where decisions are actually made. As for the rest of this, it sounds like a lot of the workers just have issues dealing with customers. If a customer wants to customize their sandwiches they are paying for it so make it their way. It's not THAT hard is it?
This video is an April Fools joke, right? I’ve never seen a “skilled” sandwich maker at Jersey Mikes nor have I been served a sandwich there that looks like any of those shown in this “commercial”. I wonder how much they paid Mashed to post it!
I thank them profusely and tip big. I love the kids at Jersey Mike's! You can pay for either extra meat or double meat. Double meat is a bit crazy, but I like extra meat on club-style subs. Show up prepared to order, including the size, bread, sandwich number, and anything the initial preparer needs to know. (I like Swiss on my tuna, so I tell the meat person because the cheese needs to go on before the tuna. Be a mensch and remain involved in the process. It's always great to see Stephen Root! I order from here a lot. We don't like it Mike's way, but we do like our subs similarly prepared. So, when my sandwiches get to the veggies, I let them know that so they can do both at once. I give them the common ingredients first (LTO), then specify pickles on hers and jalapenos on mine. We're in this together, folks.
I’ve worked in retail before (not a sandwich shop) and I can certainly understand these gripes. Some customers can be rude and thoughtless. Very annoying and frustrating.
I tried to order the chipotle Pastrami sandwich shown in the video and was told that it has never become available probably because the chain was sold.😭😭😭
Tried Jersey Mike’s one time coz I like cheesesteak and ordered extra meat and it was so little meat, I might as well have made a sandwich at home. And the employees were so busy making sandwiches they were barely able to help me
Those swinging ponytails need hair nets and I did see someone with no gloves! Jersey Mike’s isn’t a cheap sandwich spot and I’m not a rude person so I’m considerate of the line and the workers, but I’m paying for a sandwich that I want. Everyone in there is. I don’t go to the one by me anymore because now the bacon sits damn near next to the register,no exaggeration!
Jersey Mike's sandwiches don't nearly have as much meat as this video shows. Three kinds of meat and 4 paper-thin slices of each kind on a foot-long sandwich is NOT a good sandwich. Jersey Mike's foot-long is $13; Safeway makes 16-inchers with TWICE the meat of Jersey Mike's foot-long and Safeway's price is $8, however, you'll need to take Safeway's sandwich home and put on your own mayo, dressing, spice, S&P, and veges, but it's worth doing.
Is it just Jersey Mike’s or do other restaurants welcome customers reaching into the food prep area? And don’t you DARE deviate from the way the employees want to make your sub 😂 If those employees consider the other items listed to be “too much trouble,” then they need some real work experience.
What do you think of Jersey Mike's?

Biggest issue is NOT CUTTING THE BREAD ALL THE WAY THROUGH when slicing the sub.

Basic manners which we all should already adhere to.

The ones that eat their chips, while waiting in line to pay are also the ones who want to pay in coins. It's incredibly infuriating.
FYI - A Sub Above, LLC (D/B/A Jersey Mike's Subs), is now owned by New York City, New York investment firm, Blackstone, Inc.
They have the lowest quality meats.
People that invade the employees space are the same people in the super markets that snap open containers of grapes anc cherries to taste them.
Tasting a cherry or a grape is perfectly fine as long as you’re paying for them if they’re satisfactory.
Our local sub shops are better
