the fact that alex actually posted “PLEASE DONT MAKE MR BONZO A TWINK HES A BEAR” will never not be funny
He’s RIGHT tho, we can still make mr bonzo hot but like- bears are hot too!!
@@PinkelotjeArt hes absolutely correct i just love the fact that no matter what they do alex and johnny cant make characters that the fandom wont twinkify
if we need a twink we've got needles for that anyway
"Can he read?" is the new "You don't sound Russian." 😂
I cant describe how much I love "Getting Ushenka-ed" imagine if we called being body snatched and replaced as "Getting Saha-ed" or being beaten to death with a metal pipe "Getting Leitner-ed"😭
Also huge props on the Klaus thing that makes so much sense and ur so much smarter than me i thought he was just the last dude in gwen's position
I THOUGHT PEOPLE *DID* DO THE "GETTING LEITNER'ED" THING AM I CRAZY
@@inkycorvid3248ME AND MY FRIENDS SAID THAT ABT KLAUS TOO DW IM SURE ITS OCCURRING
I have a theory that the binder and more specific classifications is to weaken the powers influence. A lot of fear is derived from the unknown so if the fears are broken down into specific classifications then there is less of that fear.
I also wish everytime I said Jurgen Leitner the classic slander would play quietly in the background lmfao
Of all the things bonzo might have been, a hitman was something no one expected
Just like the Spanish Inquisition
12:05 Jon, Martin and Jonah were the only people in the panopticon as the fears were taken through and all had really strong connections to the fears so it makes sense that all three would be taken through and taken together. I know it was Elias' body but as Jon said, Elias was completely gone it was all Jonah and therefore Jonah's consciousness that got dragged through with the entities (I know you dont think JMJ is actually their consciousnesses but I think eitherway it makes sense)
also your cats are adorable and I love them
something i'd like to point out is that a bit after that thing emerges from the magnus institute and before the voices start, you can hear the ambiance sound effect that would play either whenever jon used his eye powers or it's the one that would play whenever peter appeared in a room
If you read the transcript, the thing is called "the error" 😮
Itd be funny if bonzo was just a Fucked Up Guy. No magic, no big secrets, just a Fucked Up Guy in a Fucked Up Suit.
Thats never gonna happen but
Mr Bonzo is just Nigel’s weird furry roommate
I wonder if the voices in the computer aren't our John and Martin but maybe this universes John and Martin got Ushenkaed.
34:19 boy, aren't we gonna look silly when Chekhov's Bagel comes back to bite us on the ass (silly)
I think the Fears are composite now. Spreading into a greater universe has provided enough distinction that something as specific as Needles can generate and avatar. If you look for them, you can see them: The Slaughter and Web weaving music as the cost of your ability to play. The Flesh providing a meat suit to torment the Web's victim show host and guests. The dice of the Web portent the End.
The rest stop restaurant one actually really threw me because it seemed to incorporate almost all of the classic Fears into a single experience. Lonely is obvious, the elevator lady gives me distortion vibes, the "people" with copy-pasted features in the restaurant are Stranger all day, the choking darkness outside the windows is Darkness, the chef and the whole getting eaten thing is a Flesh/Hunt tossup for me, and there's even a nod to the Eye as the guests all just stare unnervingly at the victim.
I think the Fears are cooperating and we're getting "hybrid" fears.
To me, the copy-pasted "people" reminded me most of Lost in the Crowd, which was a Lonely episode. I think the fears are just inseparable by nature, and so every statement/case is going to have elements of more than one.
Girlboss robinson back alive again. Terrifying.
She will totally blow something up
Great video to fill in the void that is no new episodes for a little while ! :D
My personal theory is Celia is secretly Anabelle Cain, who had to fill a new body as she "tore" the previous one for her little scene in season 5. Because we don't know how orchestrated the kidnappings of the sewer cult, she's being too coy about elements of the first series, because she mentions how butterflies can't scare her and because the first talking case Chester gives her is about Hilltop Road. It makes absolutely 0 sense if you start thinking of the concept of time passing, but I will hold on to my nonsense until Johnny inevitably proves me really really wrong.
Oh interesting 👀
I recognized gerry's voice instantly cuz the voice actor also plays boardgames a lot on a different youtube channel so that voice is tattooed into my brain
omg Gerry's voiced by Jon Gracey. As in, *No Rolls Barred* Jon Gracey. How did that not sink in until this comment pointed it out.
@@glumbortango7182 yep they’re one and the same Jon gracey!!! Gerry is the Lord Of the Board
As a long-time NRB fan and a relatively new Magnusverse fan hearing Gerry for the first time nearly gave me a heart attack
@@auratheva Imagine the shock I had of that happening *in reverse* Just a random Gerry jumpscare in my wholesome funny board game club
With the connection of the shared Error name, as well as specifically the sounds of a lot of whispering, radio static and chatter in the last couple of moments in episode 10 that we have heard the entity as it finds the phone, I don't find it all too much of a reach to think that it might be the amalgamated form of John, Martin and Jonah. They were after all the only living beings at the center of the actual hell universe when it collapsed in on itself. (Jonah being alive because his form is literally his eyes.) It's also the kind of body horror, and tragedy that the show doesn't shy away from.
The being also sounding like it's dialing through several radio stations has interesting implications. It could be that it's dialing through dimensions like a radio. It could also be a transmitter (or relay device in this case), which relays information about this universe to the new crew through their obviously anomalous server their computers are using. After all, the eye sees through wavelengths, and wireless devices connect through wireless wavelengths all the same.
Then again, it could also just be one of the new Magnus Institute's failed experiments that was left behind. There's not enough substance to say anything for sure about it yet. Whatever the case though. Wavelengths and wireless connections are clearly of thematic importance.
The perfect recap before I go and meet John. I have never been more excited for a writer to be at an event.
So excited for the next episodes. The last ones really felt like getting hit in the face on a weekly basis. I loved it. Fell from the sofa when Gertrude showed up.
Sadly none of my friends are listening so I only have tumblr to satisfy the conspiracy goblin part of my brain but it has been so fun. Loved the video. Hope you do more recaps in the future :)
idk if this is talked about in fandom spaces but i do think that the fact that sam checked the box for response department stuff in episode one is important? like. the reason institute staff couldnt quit is presumably because they signed the paperwork, the reason why jon and gertrude and others were archivists were because they signed. not sure if thats accurate but. maybe it makes him more prone to the response part? like. the magic paperwork is making him more prone to curiosity stuff. im not sure
Gwen gives off the vibes of someone who would also complete all of her paperwork now that you mentioned it and they are the only two people getting emails from "Jonh" 🤔
I love how I've barely been following the show's speculation and I still, completely independently, decided either Collin or Celia would die first. Their death flags are too strong
I've been taking notes and on my page for Celia I wrote "more death flags than a fuckin' pirate ship"
I'm glad I'm not alone
@@perrisavallon5170idk Celia is 100% sus but I still feel like she’s got a lot more to reveal, specially to do with AU’s. Whilst Collin seems to be in the midst of horror’s happening to him, my bet some weird shit with the eye, hence recording, and probably to do with central IT. The thing that he’s obfuscating shows hints of knowing about the entities/ fears, so his death would probably reveal more info hence he doesn’t have the level of plot armour Celia does. Then again it’s the bloody Magnus universe so no one is bloody safe
mr bonzo is a hitman, meaning he is an avatar of the hunt 🔥
Finally watched this video WHILE WAITING for a Short about how Agnes is [ERROR] to render XD
I hadn't really considered that Celia might be on the chopping block, but you make a good argument for it. I also think your theory about the OIAR splitting up the fears to keep them weaker is really interesting, though I'm not sure if it fits better than my own theory at the moment.
Regardless, you've got some great theories here!
A short about how Agnes is [Error] 👀👀👀👀
there are very few tma/tmagp episodes that genuinely scare me. I think there were maybe 2 or 3 out of the 200 in tma, but tmagp 10 terrified me. cant wait to see just how actually scary tmagp will be...
ALSO thx for making summary vids, makes it easier to keep track of everything, especially since i dont really undertsand the arg much
also little mini teaory i have, the entities exists, but are much more blended together then they were in tma. This happened cus of the eye ritual in tma that brought all of them in together, and when they were put into this new world, they blended together completely.
Personally, I like to think it's because the fears are newer in this reality, and there just hasn't been a Smirke to label and subdivide it into categories. In TMA, it's mentioned that they're really one larger thing but mostly ignored except for rituals failing to pull through only one part at a time. I think that the fear(s) usually take the path of least resistance into reality, and having a bunch of cults and spooky 200-year-old murderers hanging out and consistently influencing everyone who tries to interact with it into thinking it should fit into defined patterns means that those expectations shape what we see of the fears manifesting.
Because they're less defined here, they're free to act on much more unique concepts of fear that random individuals who will end up as prey or avatars happen to have.
Ep 10 didn’t affect me much but ep 3, putting down roots, GOT ME. I legit had to skip over the statement cause it was making me itchy and gross and I was SO HAPPY because if episode THREE wigged me out so much it was a VERY good sign for things to come!
17:15 I like the theory that the desolation Ghost Lynn Hammond say in tma100 You Had To Be There is Agnes Montague, I've never heard of this theory before and it's a fun little detail
Honestly I assumed it was canon when I first listened to mag 100, like a fire ghost hanging in a apartment, that has to be Agnes right? It’s a pretty common headcanon/theory I’ve seen, so it’s just true to me now lol
So, I think the reason the voices are Jon, Martin, and Jonah is that they were the ones still in the Panopticon. Could totes see your theory about their voices having been coopted by the entities.
That said, I DO think the entities are all squished together and so those old categorizations aren't still around. Corruption homie was also decently End to me, the guy in the station had Lonely, Flesh, and Spiral, etc. That said, you're right that it's likely not to be super important.
My pet theory is that the entities have become a lot less deliniated. For example in the one where the guy is turning into a tree I was flip flopping between spiral and corruption for a lot of it - the guy was obviously hallucinating but also he got infected with tree. The charity shop one started with lonely - being abandoned by upper management and then morphed into stranger with the volunteers who weren't quite right and then there was a little bit of buried at the end with how full the shop got.
Something I haven't see anyone talking about is how in episode 8 Gwen accused Alice of "deliberately finding talkers and leaving them running" which implies the employees can somehow sort through the files and know which ones will be read out loud before they select them (same way Jon just knew wich staments were real and didn't bother recording the false ones) but Alice herself told both Sam and Celia that what cases get read by Chester/Norris/Augustus is completely random and there's no way to know beforehand
So either Alice lied to Sam & Celia or she is unaware she can tell which cases will get read (maybe she is lying to herself about it, pretending she can't the same way season 1 Jon tried to pretend he didn't believe any of the staments because he was afraid)
Or maybe Gwen can tell which ones will be read out loud and just assumes everyone else can too regardless of whatever Alice can tell as well or not
There's also the possibility that whoever is inside the computer is trying to say something to Alice specifically and that's why she is getting more "talkers" than anyone else (and the fact that she explicitly says she doesn't listen to them, doesn't even stay in the same room while they are running, just scans them for key words later can't be a coincidence)
As a kid who pronounced hermione as her-mee-oh-knee until I was 13 I felt the pronunciation thing
skimming the comments, and with the idea that extinction might play a much stronger role in TMAGP, I feel like it's now a new 'base' for the fears. Like,in TMA most fears would, at least indirectly, feed into The End, The Desolation, or The Spiral. Death, Destruction, and Insanity. I feel like Apocalypse is now a 'base' if not the ONLY 'base' fear. I think in part it'd be extinction first as it was the one with the least connections to tma's world / actively cares about 'moving on' so would've been the first to go.
I watched your ARG recap and when the connections started connectioning around episode 7 or whatever I was like !!! The ARG and then we hit Bonzo and I just lost it.
Loved the video (and subscribed!)
At the end of ep10 we can hear the click of a tape recorder. So far we've only been hearing things through computers or security cameras, so the fact the recorders are still around is very interesting.
Looking forward to see how it all develops in future episodes. And if any of your Agnes theories are right that would be incredible haha
YES I noticed this too! During that scene I kept thinking to myself "what piece of technology is recording them? It doesn't sound like a cell phone because it was muffled until they uncovered something" and then I heard the click and went OH
I'm here! I finished and caught up on Protocol this morning. I listened to your ARG part and now I'm ready to join this lol. Thank you
Also curious that Needles is very clearly Flesh (iirc surgical needles also fell under Flesh's umbrella in TMA) with how insecure he is. He's so desperate for people to fear him that he basically begs them too until he has leverage of some kind. (I also just love Needles cos his voice is very poggers)
Your videos are so helpful!! I love Magnus but it’s hard to keep everything straight sometimes!
I love your enthusiasm and vibe in these videos. I'm so excited to hear what you have to say about episode 11-20!
Thank you! The new video is in the works but I’ve just been busy with the end of my school year😅
i definitly see your point with episode 8 (the architecture one) being Lonely but i purrsonally immediately clocked it as Extinction. the focus on brutalism as a style, you know? i could probably make a more compelling point if i relistened to the episode lol
I cant wait for the TMP to make me descend into madness
I love this. And I love the night in the woods background muaic!❤
Another person of culture I see, the night in the woods soundtrack just goes hard
I’VE BEEN WAITING FOR THIS ONE!! TURN IT UP!!!!
Omg new Pinkelotje tmp upload hiiii hiiiiii :33
Hiii!
Rolling With It HAS to be the End, BECAUSE:
Affecting fate, The End
Dice or in general gambling for life, The End (Its in the manifestations on the wiki page)
"And as my luck kept getting better and better I started to feel less and less… connected to the world. Like I was a lucky ghost, or something, walking with normal but not really one of them anymore." A lucky ghost, seriously, THE END. It sounds so much like losing a part of your humanity, like Georgie lost her fear.
Also snake eyes make no sense flr the web. However, there was a snake in regards to the extintion in TMA, which is as we all know thanks to dekker was a part of the end once
There was this one statement in TMA pretty similar to it, called Cheating Death (MAG 29), it even made it on the Tarot Card.
I t h a s t o b e t h e E n d .
In my personal opinion the statement is working more with the gambling themes then death. Gambling addiction being part of the web, it’s the constantly having to gamble on these extreme odds and the statement giver themselves says the people didn’t have a choice.
I can definitely see the end angle especially since in tma we had the challenging death episode. But it’s more about the risk then the actual death, anything bad could’ve happened to him.
@@PinkelotjeArt hmm yes but then Im confused about snakes. Like snakes and spiders dont fit together at all.
Bonzo is so clearly the buried for me, there is the berried buried word play Bonzo's handler talk about how he's trapped and Bonzo is a costume that hurts the ppl inside him.
P.s great videos much fun 😊
I do say I think Mr bonzo might be of the corruption, because one of themes of corruption is like,on the literal sense for rotten stuff but also relationships that turn rotten(toxic) so I feel that a mascot that kids idealize would actually be like a murderer might fit that?also it takes opportunity to make his insides super gross and stuff, but then again he doesn’t reallly seen to fit any entity?
Maybe he is an avatar of multiple fears? He gives me major The Flesh vibes but I can see him being an avatar of The Corruption originally
And if he is working as a hitman wouldn't that make him an avatar of The Hunt?
Maybe he eats cases like Jon read them to feed The Eye?
What if in the season 1 finale they have to kill him before he can become marked by all fears?
It’s pretty clear that this time around, the entities are not so distinct. They got blended in the transfer from dimensions, and there’s even a theory that the weird filing system they use is to avoid classifying the entities in specific categories, which helps them form distinct identities of their own. Keeping them as one big amorphous mass makes them easier to control
I hope you do these every 10 episodes that would be so fun
That is the plan ^-^!
@@PinkelotjeArt episode 15 was insane and based on how insane 10 also was I'm scared af for 20
"They wanted a non fuckable monster"
Im sorry but have they SEEN the internet!?
I just remembered that in the magnus archives its said that tape recorder are still digital but just really low tech, which is why the computers are so low tech!
i'd say bonzo is the hunt
Personally i think the buried fits him more. Being trapped in a suit and being trapped by him. 😊
I feel like the point of the series is that the classifications are a lot more specific than the broad fears of the original series. I personally thought stranger but he can be literally anything.
@@chiffon5189 i personally hope we see more mixed of classification.
@@justnojustn3036if this is the second buried+hunt collab i’m gonna go feral (oh and DIG has hunt themes imo so uh- 2.5)
11:35 I ALSO THOUGHT IT WAS JURGEN LEITNER !!
OH YES IM SO READY
When I heard San Pedro Massacre I got chills down my spine since I go to school in San Pedro
The Hilltop one, for me, felt a lot like the Extinction (or whatever the name was stupid umbrella you know it). Like, so many old items given freely to a place that doesn't need them is giving so trash heap. And then the volunteers manically embracing odd depravities in it, adding more and more constantly... Embracing their end with fanfare. That feels like the End, but there's a human element there as well... So yeah, Shitty Umbrella.
I actually- really like this interpretation, I hadn’t thought of that yet
I was getting big Buried vibes from it because of the description of being crushed by all the pieces like mentioned, but I'm thinking there's some sort of double Fear thing going on. In episode 10, there's also the part about getting "Berried," and I can't imagine that isn't meant to be a homophone.
I'm wondering if in this world, the Fears have combined with each other and there are now multiple Primary Fears per case.
@@rhiannonchiacchiaro6352 Could be... I like that theory!
They turned Mr Blobby into a hitmam
I think this universe is going full-on alchemy as the basis of their mythology. I think the Fear entities are there but manifested differently.
I did hear that they they wished they would have done more with Agnes in TMA.
(could you maybe please change the title from [Ep. 1/10] to [Ep. 1-10]? I thought for a good long while it was just thoughts and theories for just the first episode :3 please
ah thats a real silly mistake thanks for pointing it out. changed it
Episch mijn dude
I think the bodies that keep talking are ppl Jon is feeding on to get him more strength to get out???
I just got recommended this and i didn’t even realise it was you omfg 😭
TRICK?? Hello! nebwhejjd
@@PinkelotjeArt Hellooo!! Ajdksk
ill be honest the food theory makes sense as someone who grew up hearing stories about the fae so maybe tma was the whole 'dont give your name to the fae cause then they can control you' thing and maybe the thing with the food gives the people more control (since tmp seems to put alot of emphasis on the fact that these people are in these situations becauses they made choices that led directly to these outcomes instead of just stumbling on fear) but anyways the point with the fae conection is that its apparantly so good you physicaly cant eat other food n are forced to stay in the fae realm/wild
but idk i mentioned this one to a freind n he just thought i was crazy so meh
Wait, it that not Jurgen Leitner? I was surprised to look up the casting and see it didn't match, but I kind of assumed it was a stage name or just a different credit for the same actor. It REALLY sounds like Jurgen to me.
Remembering that your favourite is Gertrude due to your love of evil old women i expect you were very happy when she showed up. (I remember the technoblade and akechi art.)
I think it's Lietner because his name also starts with a J, and he does sound similar
BIG SPOILERS FOR EP17!!!!!
100% the error thing that was released from the institute was either the more succesful version of the statement giver in ep17 or IS the statement giver in ep17, I feel the latter makes more sense as why would you introduce a character then kill it off like 7 episodes later? Idk they could be seperate but with what your pointing out about the redacted role in the casting call it makes the most sense. Also super curious on what Colin did to the staffs computers.
YO I ALSO HAVE A THEORY BOARD
gnawing at wood rn- hold on
You go little beaver
@@PinkelotjeArt moving on to stones and minerals
Colin gona ether try to burn down the OIAR or appear as a future Case
is it possible to get into the arg now? idk anythinh about it
I have a summary video on my UA-cam! The actual arg is sadly no longer functional as allot of the websites have been taken down
I'm not sure if someone else has already mentioned it but [ERROR] in episode 10 was played by Beth Eyre, who was also Lucia Wright in TMA, the statement giver on episode 130, the Instanbul Flesh Ritual one.
i have a theory as to why the fears are more similar to desires in tmagp, because to me it feels like they’re less strongly footed, i do believe they existed in the tmagp universe from “the start of time” due to weird time things happening but they’re not as powerful as in tma (and they will get more powerful as tmagp moves forward, we are seeing them get established) but because they’re weakened they cannot feed off of a random passerby, but must instead seek out people who are inclined to either become a victim or an avatar which is why they seem to “desire” what happens to them
i have a longer post about this on my tumblr, ill send the link if anyone asks
Am I the only one who doesn't know what the ARG is?😅
The arg was a event that happened as a promotion to the magnus protocol, I have a video on it if you would like to know more. But the information in the arg is not necessary to enjoy the show
@@PinkelotjeArt oh ok I see, I'll surely watch your video about it bc I feel like there's a lot I'm missing without it. Is the actual ARG something I can watch/read somewhere?
Anyway thanks a lot for the answer 💚
@@alessandrosalomoni3213 assuming you don’t know what a arg is, it’s basically like an online scavenger hunt, currently most of the websites and links used during the game are no longer functional because the arg has officially ended. there’s a master google doc fans have put together, but it’s allot to understand if you don’t know what you’re looking at.
@@PinkelotjeArt Thanks again, I'll try to catch up 🤷
