I have HUGE respect for those professional athletes who simultaneously pursue higher education. Shaquille O'Neil would have been on a massive wicket at Orlando and LA, but he still kept his word to his mother that he would complete his degree at LSU, which he did while playing in the NBA at the highest level. Again, that is something that one can only really respect. And the same clearly goes for Luke completing his MBA. Good on him.

*I WAS* a Souths fan _(until they let Reynolds go)_ but I knew when Keary stood up for himself against Russell Crowe that he was someone I'd respect as a person as well as a player. I hope he goes on to further success at Catalans, in commentary, business, coaching, and life.

Don't worry mate I wouldn't support them either losing to a bunch of kids in Reynolds last game for the club, pretty pathetic! 😂

Cannot wait to see Keary over here in SL. Been a big fan of his for a while. Top player and I'm sure he'll go well.

love the show love what graham the ex pom has done with his life and career and successfully settled in Australia. To see ex players and there succes stories. these podcasts keep RL foremost in your mind in the off season so good to see people that have proven there is life after football. I love how the players have proven they are a tight knit community. RL share that comradery that you can only get from the armed forces or organisations that have teams competing against each other. I admire so many panthers who have gone on to become respected members of the community such as marc Geyer, Greg alexander, Brad fittler, mick Symonds, Sattler, Gus Gould and so many more (to many to mention) but also those that you know will contribute to the game in the future, Nathan and Ivan Cleary, Isia yeo, again many many more they are an inspiration to hard work and dedication. I could go on and on. Whilst i love the panthers i love all the footballers from all the clubs and watch them all and all the games the only time i become one eyed is when the Panthers play against them but when they play state of origin or play for Australia i back them 100% I love the new teams coming into the game. i love the Samoans, love Tonga, NZ etc etc. I follow the bulldogs because of many of the ex panthers, love balmain, Over the tears i always had back up teams to follow such as parramatte, St george . souths and canterbury. anyway love the game generally thanks for the entertainment the wins the loses excuse the typo errors but thanks to the graetest game in the world

Luke Keary comes across as one of the really good blokes of rugby league. I'm sure he'll enjoy his time in France and we'll enjoy seeing him play here. One tip Luke: give snails a try, you might like them!

Really interesting chat re the violence aspect of the game and the desire to see violence. I think sports provide a valuable outlet for the instinct for violence among young men in particular, both as players and spectators. Too often our society seeks to hide and/or eradicate uncomfortable aspects of humanity, rather than admit to it and find healthy and controllable outlets. I think this social value aspect of nrl and other contact sports is underplayed (pun intended)

How can James Graham not know the proposed 'below the shoulder' tackle rules now aren't coming in in Super League next year!? I'm a casual, not the first time he's referred to this.
