Ska rules..... the i am proud that i am born and raised in the UK we have produced SOOOO MANY music Genre's and change the course of music world wide !!!!!
I saw this band on Saturday Night Live in 1980 and have been a fan ever since. It has led me to other ska bands like the Skatellites (Peanut Man). Amazing. Cheers.
You know what this means? More songs with percussion for you two 😁. I actually don’t know if that sound comes from their drummer, or one of the other members; but I’d imagine it was some sort of hand drum(whether it was played with a hand, is also a mystery)
Great song. I never heard of them before watching this. I had to look them up on Spotify. The album version of this song is like 6 minutes. It's a bit much, but it's still a great song. I dug deeper and found out that they also made the original version of a song that I thought was by Reel Big Fish.
@@padenj420 no worries man, the original is by Toots & The Maytals. Toots influenced loads of 2tone ska which bled through to the 90s American version of ska too! Well worth checking out 😃
Karen’s complained for decades about cigarette smoke. Smokers take up an alternative that’s healthier and doesn’t smell and they still moan about it. Can’t win with the Karens!
Rimshot and snare are awesome, you're wrong fellas
I was 20 in 1980 when I first danced to this song; and I still do!
The "keg" is just a high-tuned snare, which is pretty common in ska.
Too much Too Young, never a truer word spoken

It's a timbale drum, usually played with a stick.

Which song was it? If you're referring to Monkey Man, then the Specials covered that one too because it goes way back to the late 60s!
@@steroberts it is Monkey Man. That's cool. I had no idea. Thank you for informing me.

@@steroberts Oh, wow. Yeah, I've heard of them. I think I've listened to at least a song or two by them.
